Welcome new players. UPDATE: Links to Facebook/Twitter/GTASF chat room added

Yo Blitzman I want to play your Rufus/Ken Give me a holla.

cool, I found a SF site.

Wassup SRK.

This is my first day on Shoryu, but I’ve been checking out the forums since 2004. Been playing SF since 2001, on Sega. I figured it was time that I officially jumped into the scene.

I’m definitely not a new player, but I am a new face. Hope I can get to know you all and come out to some events.

Welcome Raynex.
Hope you have a good time here. The community is great, and you`ll have lots of fun.
Enjoy your stay bro

hey raynex if i see you at pmall you’re the first person i’m challenging

Hi. I’m new to Canada and SRK (used to read SRKm just started posting; moved to Ca. from UK last year). I’m up for anything the community has to offer.

What’s up Canada,

I’m a new player from Richmond Hill… I’m about 5 minutes from getty in fact… Been lurking for several years (like half the noobs here), but never really got too serious into fighting games. With SF4 out now, I’m down for some schooling, as I’m pretty scrubtastic at the moment. Reading, practicing, and playing as much as I can however…

If anyone wants to get some matches (and maybe offer some advice?), my psn name is svhugh

Anyone live in Kingston? I’m here for 4 month for the summer and I would like to play something other than online…

Hey all,

Lastweek was the first time I was exposed to the SF community in the GTA during the Bleecker 3 on 3 SFIV tourney. I couldn’t have asked for a better first time experience in a SF tourney. Met alot of great peeps and the community is great!

Anyone on PSN add me.

I think i’m the only one reppin the shwa… LOL

I just joined the GTASF group. Figured it would be an easier way to get to know people than here on the forums. Seriously though, if you’re from St. Catharines (don’t be shy) message me and we’ll get some matches going asap.

Maybe I could get some online matches going with some of you guys before me and Varleran make it down to POWNZ. It would probably be a good learning experience.

A link to the GTASF Twitter is here and in the first post.

If you use the Twitter service, please follow in order to get updates on upcoming tournaments and on the fly results.

Well yesterday at the tourney I was asked if I ever posted in any Canadian threads and I realized that besides 1 I think I didn’t really post. So here I am:

I found SRK accidently back in 2003ish when I lived in St Catharines still and was looking up stuff about good old Street Fighter. I never really registered because I was never into SFIII that much to be honest, the game felt quite odd to me so figured not like I need to ask any questions or anything since I don’t really play the game THAT much. I consider myself a hardcore Street Fighter fan, I’ve been playing it since the Arcades back in 92 and have owned every single version of SF out there, yes even those lame 3D ones.

Now I moved to Toronto, Woodbridge to be exact, and when I played SFIV at the Arcades it made me feel warm again so decided it was about time I registered since I knew I will be taking this game more seriously than SFIII. People were right last night, I don’t post much and to be honest it’s because of the whole 2009 users thing that goes on in these forums. Figured the less people see a 2009 join date next to my username the more peaceful time I’ll have on the forums.

I got to meet quite a few people last night at the tourney and I had one helluva time, it was honestly alot of fun. I got PSN so feel free to add me, and I will definitely be taking a part of SF events more often even though I’m not that good with my 2 new main characters. It’s the best way to practice though so I’m all in.

hey everyone! I’m fairly new here and to the whole fighting scene lol I’d like to get to know people on the forums and hopefully have a few games with some of you gurus so I can learn a lesson or two. Right now, I’m playing SF2THD more than I’m playing SF4. So if anyone would like to play, just add my gamertag and we can work one out

Oh hey intros

I’m Ottawa-based, and have the classic story (playing fighting games for years, just now working toward more serious play). I’m a BB player, coming from SSB:M and GGXX#R. I’m also looking to learn SF4 at some point.

Twitter is @robpeace, or add me on XBL if you want to practice against Tao or total noob Gief.

Any of you newfags ever worked at IFDS? I’m pretty sure one of you have

Sup I’m new to SRK and new to playing SFIV competitively.

I started playing SFIV a couple of days after it came out for the PC (as I bought that version) so that would put me a little over 3 weeks of playing now.

I live in Ontario, a little suburb called Unionville and am hoping to get into the scene ASAP.

Quick question, when you guys are talking about Lovegetty, where at. AFAIK there’s multiple lovegety stations, but I know for sure there’s one nearby around Hwy 7 and Leslie in Commerce Gate.

If so, I am so down.

Howdy.
Long time lurker first time poster.
I’m from this place called Saskatoon, you might have heard of it. Not really much of a fighting game scene here. I play SF3, Guilty Gear and Blazblue.

Hi everyone, just thought I would introduce myself. I would like to start playing SF4 and Blazblue with this community. I’m not exactly new to fighting games, I played Smash competitively for a couple of years, so I know how everything works tournament-wise and stuff. I’ve known about/been on Shoryuken a while ago, but since Smash was my main game, I neglected to make an account or read up on 2d fighters, but exposure to 2d fighters at a friend’s house made me want to try them out.

I’m from Mississauga, um…idk if I put that into my profile when I made it. My first SF4 tourney will most likely be the bar fights one ; ) Hope to meet you guys all there

There’s a tourney in streetsville end of this week.
