Welcome new players. UPDATE: Links to Facebook/Twitter/GTASF chat room added

Fuck you SFIV for fucking up SRK.

:shake:

Iā€™m new (finally signed up here). A quick hello to all.

Iā€™ve always lived in Brampton. Fell in love with street fighter in grade 6 while studying taekwondo and martial arts. According to family and friends Iā€™m obsessed with street fighter, but I see there are others like me. Iā€™ve amassed quite a collection of SF-related material. I started playing heavily when I got my PSone (bro-in-law introduced me to SFEX and I learned how to do a hadouken). I donā€™t have a lot of arcade experience, but I do owe much of my arcade play to SF (after destroying friends I craved more human competition).

K well, thatā€™s enough of my life story. See you guys later.

The pain I know too well.

Iā€™ve been on here a while, but iā€™ve kept relatively quiet. I currently play sf4/hd remix (360) and iā€™m looking for ppl to play against and form/join a crew for tournaments. If you live in the Markham/Scarborough area, then please respond to this and PM me.

My tag on XBL is C 3. I donā€™t have a 360 yet, so u may see me with 2 or 3 different ranking points or stuff like that haha Iā€™m a Balrog/Sagat player, and I accept all challenges (especially pros). Take care and thanks for making this Nagata.

Hey all!!

Montrealer here!
Long time lurker. First time poster.
Looking to hone in my skills.

Not really new to the site. Used to post with my old account ā€˜the crowā€™, but didnā€™t play that much. Tried playing mvc2, sucked at that. Joined one or two tournaments and was knocked off easily the first match. Now Iā€™m trying to learn 3s and hopefully SF4. Itā€™s been a while, but Iā€™m starting to go more and more to Playscape again. Usually watching a friend of mine finish House of the dead 4. Thinking of maybe going to that richmond hill arcade one day, but Iā€™m not really sure how to get there yet. I live around Yonge and Steeles. Currently working towards getting a ps3.

Hi,

Nameā€™s Mike, I live in Mississauga. Normally Iā€™m an FPS player (old skool Q2/Q3:RA Player, UT1, CS and CSS, then moved on to console shooters, Halo2, Gears of War, CoD4 etc) I used to play both PC FPS and Console FPS competitively, mainly in Q3, UT1, CS and Gears (HEAT.NET/MPlayer Ladders,CAL,Proving Grounds,Gamebattles), I stopped playing shooters on the console cuz Gears 2 sucked majorly. Iā€™ve always been an extremely casual fighting game playerā€¦ I just started getting really in to it when Soul Calibur 4 came out last year and Iā€™ve been playing that since it came out, then I decided to give SF4 a shot cuz Iā€™ve always liked the SF series.

Yeahā€¦ thatā€™s me pretty muchā€¦ gaming wise anyways.

Hey I live in the scarborough area, i donā€™t have an xbox 360 yet but i will get one soon and play SF4. i live near bellamy and eglinton. I could travel around the scarborough area and the markham/scarborugh border , ak.a, steels ave. but not really like far north markham.

Been here for a month, really didnā€™t notice this section of the forums (because I fail -.-) but have lurked a lot, posted a bit since Iā€™ve joined.

Nameā€™s Singh (last name), used to play SFII when I was a lot younger (played a bit of 3s, but not much), now getting into SFIV on X360 however. Iā€™m mostly a sports gamer, though I do play Halo with family. Outside of XBL, I do run WoW, however I have been playing a lot of SFIV since I got it.

I live in Pickering and atm I am going to University of Toronto at Scarborough. Havenā€™t been to any of the GTA area arcades, but would like to go to one in the near future when I get time.

As for SFIV, Iā€™m somewhat of a novice, I know the mechanics and some of the combos, but my execution is poor atm with the 360 controller (but am getting a SE soon). Iā€™m always reading, and looking to improve, learning from my errors in the process. Donā€™t mind losing (see my Halo record :P), and would love to learn from those who are more experienced than myself.

On XBL my tag is Singhs31, add me and lemme know youā€™re from SRK and hopefully get some matches in. Getting tips and advice from SRK members would be awesome.

Ryu right now is my main, Iā€™ll probably working on improving with Cammy and Sagat as well.

Hi guys,

Been lurking here for a while (especially custom stick threads). I live in moncton, NB and canā€™t seem to find anyone around here to play fighting games more seriously.

Hoping to be fighting some of you soon.

Thanks,

Hello all,

I just signed up to the site, found this site by accident. Anyways I play SF4 and I think Iā€™m pretty good, never played against outsiders, only my 2 brothers. Iā€™ve also never played any SF in the arcades so using the Fight Sticks would be foreign to me.

Anyways, Iā€™m looking to improve my game and I think Iā€™m good, but looking to you put things into perspective for me. I would love to play anyone of any skill level so add me to your PSN friends list, Iā€™m Bloodhoound. Oh yea, located in Brampton, but work downtown Toronto.

Will join the Facebook when I get home, itā€™s blocked here at work :wonder:

Seeing the threads on the Facebook group about the York U arcade makes me die a little inside . Though a few days ago I met this wicked guy named Alex in the Student Centre, we played Hyper Fighting on the SNES set up there, and he tells me that thereā€™s a (currently inactive) fighting game club there that used to pull 15 people a week. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if he posts here, actually. Itā€™s Osman, remember?

Anyway, Iā€™ve been lurking SRK for a while, decided to get active with the community after the release of ST: HD Remix, though I pretty much exclusively play SF4 these days. Iā€™m down for meeting more players from the community, everyone Iā€™ve talked to at Gety was so approachable, welcoming and knowledgeable. I live about 5 - 10 minutes away from Gety, so if anyone wants to set up friendlies, I can be there whenever. Iā€™ve been meaning to learn Guilty Gear (whichever iteration people play the most, probably AC?), it seems like such a wicked game, but itā€™s probably a difficult game to learn on your own. Any AC players out there?

Edit: I want to learn either AC or Marvel, I forgot how much Marvel impresses me, even though I have no idea whatā€™s going on, haha.

Heyā€¦ been lurking for the longest timeā€¦

I mainly play HDR and main rog. Anyone want to play? Iā€™m always looking for good people who can teach me some stuff. I have sf4 tooā€¦ but I havenā€™t touched it for a while for no reason at all.

x360: Lolerzors

hey iā€™m new here and am finding myself reading a bunch of guides as to mod my stickā€™s (great resources atm)
iā€™ve played sf games since i was very young and grew up with games as far back as i can remember
after picking up ssb a few years back iā€™ve dropped sf and now with hd and sf4 iā€™ve gotten back into it and hope to start playing competitive
for anyone looking to play me in sfhd, sf4, brawl, (locally)melee, resistance2 drop me a pm or add me on msn at pr3y11@hotmail.com
i also play a bit of 3s and sfa3 but iā€™m not very good compared to the competitive guys

You guys should watch out for preyā€¦ heā€™s modest but heā€™ll tear shit up!

lol i think youā€™re being the modest one here =P

PM me with your MSN if you guys ever want to play A3 on GGPO .

unfortunately, iā€™m using a mac, and havnā€™t been able to find a way to get network play working, or am able to find anything that supports it and works on osx, if you know of something please let me know, i would be forever greatful =]

Iā€™ve lurked around SRK for the most of last year and decided to join up in early December of 2008 in light of the release of Street Fighter HD and SFIV not long after (And because I needed some HRAP modding tips). Havenā€™t really tried playing Street Fighter (Any) competitively up until recently, and when it came to the finer details of Street Fighter, I found that forums like GameFAQs really didnā€™t quite cut it anymore so I frequent SRK a lot more now.

Fighting-game wise, I play some really casual Smash Brothers Brawl but mostly Street Fighter HD and Street Fighter IV, though I seriously suck ass compared to most. I actually hopped onto the Street Fighter bandwagon kind of late and the series in general never really grew on me up until recently. I may also be considering playing BlazBlue once the game comes out on consoles since my friend KC who goes to Lovegety a lot tells me tons of good things about it and Iā€™m really digging the way it plays.

So a big extended, ā€œHello all!ā€ to fellow Canadian gamers out there, both local and all around Canada!

Hey Phoenix, welcome! I think youā€™re probably more familiar with this site than I am. Add me on PSN, I believe youā€™re much better than you say you are =]
Although I think beating me wonā€™t really prove much since Iā€™m not very good.
Either way, iā€™d love to get in a couple matches with your sagat, or anyone else you may want to use.

edit: if anyone else wantā€™s to play just add me with the msg saying srk, iā€™ll take all the practice i can get
