Seems to be the case. Why would a developer who is clearly trying to make a tournament style fighting game base its balance decisions off of how it plays online? Silly.

This. Online doesn’t matter. If you’re an online warrior and you wanna prove something, then go to an event/tournament.
I am a total online casual dude. I love fighting games, but like a lot of folks, I have a family and a full time job. If you can’t make it to tournaments and just play online, you gotta take the good with the bad of that environment and just enjoy it as much as you can.

Out of the top 8 of evo this year, which four or five characters do you expect to see? Also if you feel like writing “too early to tell” or “whats the point” just spare us your noncontribution and move on. No one can 100% see the future, we’re just speculating to discuss ideas and where people’s heads are at, what they’ve seen that feels strong, etc. It’s just for fun and discussion, that’s the point.
