people are now using the word medicate to hide behind their psychological dependence on weed.
Even those dumbasses from Harbor Side Medical where all
yeah, we medicate to feel better about life. WTF is that shit, just admit you like smoking and stop hiding behind loaded words to not make yourself look like a stoner…
You aren’t medicating, your getting high. Most people at dispensaries have no real problems that can’t be fixed with some exercise and diet change. But that’s ok, but at least have the decency to call it what it is. When have you ever heard a tweaker say, ima medicate on rocks!
Don’t make it seem what it isn’t so you can justify your behavior, and it’s sad that people have to use the word “medicate” to get high of pot…
Marijuana is medicine, but not all marijuana is used for medicinal purposes.
For example, If I was using Oxycodone in order to kill pain, I’m using it as medicine.
If I were to use it for intoxication purposes, then it is a ‘drug’(definition of drug being “A chemical that creates some type of substance induced disorder”.)
If people keep asking for the medical marijuana route, you will end up with this stuff as legal(less than .5 thc) and most potheads will be like “Hey this isn’t what I wanted” however it is what you asked for.
If you want the high potency strands of marijuana to be legal, ask for what you want and don’t pretend like all marijuana is for medical purposes.
However, with these stories of the uses of cannabis, it may become less feared by the government. However, niggas might want to state that they don’t want marijuana to be legal for medical purposes only or they’ll be real disappointed when only low potency strands get legalized.
Caffeine is a drug if you want to get down to brass tacks. But when it comes to the connotation of a “drug”, I think theres an argument to be made for differentiating it from things like cocaine, opiates, MDMA, LSD etc., which is generally what people mean when they say its “not a drug.”
Just say it’s a good drug, if you are a user. It only becomes something bad when you allow it. The worst it can do is make you lazy. That is a much better argument since it tells the truth.
There is a built in mechanism in weed where it causes you to become immune to it’s affects after heavy and prolonged use, because of this mechanism, it makes you want to take a tolerance break to get high again. This mechanism makes it very difficult to get hooked on it since you have to drop it for a while to get high again.
drug addicts make no fucking sense do they. Idiots that are addicted and hooked to cigaretts or drink alcohol use the same excuses…
And peopel wouldn’t smoke cigs if it didn’t make them feel like they do, or deal with how shitty MDMA or Methamphetamine tastes.
no, more weak arguments to support a habit thats looked as a bad one.
MDMA and LSD aren’t addicting like Weed, where as, MDMA and Marijuana become psychologically addicting LSD does not. It’s a drug, alters your biochemistry, and gets you high. It’s a drug, and these arguments are only made because people want an excuse to justify their getting high…
Nobody sucks dick for marijuana only because it’s cheaper than coke on a pound to pound basis, is more widely available, and isn’t psychically dependent.
A drug is a drug. Having words like good and bad just allow for things like the war on drugs to exist. And no, heavy smokers keep smoking and smoke more since they can afford it. I’ve seen silly goose smoke up to an eight or more a day by themselves…
like I said, so is caffeine technically a drug. but no one would consider a coffee drinker a drug user. thats the same logic a weed smoker might use to say they aren’t a drug user, if all they use is weed. yeah, you’re technically right that weed smokers are drug users, as are cigarette smokers, drinkers, and aspirin users. but when it comes to the connotation of the word drug, some people have differing viewpoints on whats a drug and it has nothing to do with defending their desire to get high to your puritan ass.
I do, in purly scietific terms they are. When you add stupid unnecessary crap that has no business in definitions, like morals, degree of damage done, risk to others or society, it clouds objectivity.
Coffee drinkers are drug users (by definition), and some of them are drug addicts (by definition: ie, they need to drink coffee to function, otherwise they suffer withdrawal, but that’s to be expected from a drug that is in the same class as cocaine).
So when it comes to the word drugs, there are no connotations, and it’s a word that’s been taken out of context and manipulated where anything that’s called a drug (sort of like gay or that ggot word), it’s considered bad. It’s why doctors call their drugs, prescriptions instead of what they are, drugs.
So this argument you are advocating for, is just a tool the government, or whatever is it that makes the rules, can make the argument that this is bad and this isn’t, and by extension, a way for soft drug users to justify why what they do is OK, while what somebody else does isn’t.
Im not being puritan about this, im being soley objective about this. there are no technicalities, there are only facts, and the fact is that coffee users, pot smokers, beer drinkers, and smokers are all drug users, and some are drug addicts.
Folks need to man up, and just come out and say, yes I’m a drug user, I smoke pot, I get high, and so do you. this word drugs, and the extra words people attach on to them so they don’t sound like junkies (soft drug vs hard drug) is stupid. And a coping mechanism so they can justify why they get high. Beer drinkers and smokers use this all the time to explain why they drink. Only people I have ever come accros that are honest about their habbits where crack and meth users, they always say, because it makes me feel good and is something I like.
with the right weed yes, but It’s gotten to the point where they started smoking and preffering nothing but wax and or shatter becasue that’s what gets them there.
LOL at not getting high anymore due to consistent smoking. Not sure what you were smoking(assuming it’s shwag/low tier stuff). But when I lived in Colorado, due to the variety there was at the dispensaries, I was getting baked every time I picked up something different. To say you don’t get high anymore because your tolerance is strong is funny. I knew a kid that said the same thing, then he smoked some top shelf Diablo O.G. and was drooling at the mouth and was couch locked for the rest of the night. If it was true about not getting high anymore, there wouldn’t be such a boom in the MMJ industry. How strong the weed is now a days, you don’t need to smoke much to begin with. “One hitter quitter” is the norm with top shelf weed.
It only sounds stupid because they are ignorant to what the word actually means, and they have lived a life where the powers that be use the word drug in a very negative way.
This is what they hear, so anything that is a drug is “bad”. I don’t care for normal people in a scientific discussion, then you get stupid shit like I keep hearing when news outlets talk about stomach bacteria and call it “gut microbes”, because stupid people (the majority) don’t know what a stomach or intestine is, and the assume bacteria are bad.
Are you a normal everyday person that doesn’t know??? Becasue i’m giving you the benifit of the doubt that you are educated and know.
lol at pedoviejo hiding behind the veil of science and objectivity to be a dick who is pretending he cannot see why someone doesnt just call a coffee drinker a drug user, or why people dont say, “hey you wanna go do some drugs”, when referring to going to the bar for a few drinks. i mean hell, the human body can get its own self “high” if it wants simply through physical activities, or meditation, but no one tells someone they are gonna chill out and get high today when referring to meditating.
just because something is scientifically categorized as a drug doesnt mean you just throw context out the fucking window because of some superiority complex. lol.
how dumb would you look if you sat your parents down and said dad, mom, i do drugs a lot. i drink 3 cups of coffee a day. they would laugh you out of the room.
