8PM Prompt Start Time**

OK Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Philly… It’s time to level up!

We’re gonna be running a 6-week ranbat season starting NEXT Wednesday, Cinco de Mayo, May 5th, 2010 for Super Street Fighter 4. You’re definitely gonna wanna be involved in this each week, as points will be tallied over the 6 week period, and the winner gets:

EVO 2010 PLANE TICKET, AND TOURNAMENT ENTRY PAID FOR

Cash prizes (proportional to entry fees) will also be given out for 2-8th place in the ranbat season.

Each event will be streamed.

Tournament will run through www.tonamento.com

If you haven’t been to Xanadu, there are 3 HD monitors running perfectly lagless, as well as CRT’s.

How Does This Work?

Venue Fee- $5 (if you’re not a Xanadu member… you could always purchase a monthly membership for $20…)
Entry Fee- $5 (per session)

Tournaments will be on PS3, the EVO standard.

This ranbat season will not pay out cash every week for placers. Instead, the entry fee goes to fund the final prize, the trip to EVO 2010. Cash left over will be used to pay out top 8 placers. As the EVO ticket, itself, will cost a couple hundred dollars, there should be plenty of money left for runner-up przies, which will be broken down thusly:

2nd- 30% of remaining pot
3rd- 20%
4th- 15%
5th- 12%
6th- 10%
7th- 8%
8th- 5%

If the 1st place winner has already purchased their ticket, and paid for their registration, equivalent cash will be awarded to the winner.

Come out to level up. This is for ALL players, regardless of skill. Come play the best in the DMV! The community needs you. Let’s all improve together.

There will be plenty more coming from Xanadu, btw… stay tuned. In the meantime, GET HYPE.

For the players

This is through the efforts and ideas of me, Hav, and most importantly the owner Press. This is for the players by players themselves Press himself is a player and wants the best for our scene. I really like what you guys are doing here. I’ll definitely try my best to make it to each one.

Whoever’s idea it was for a 8pm start time is a freakin genius. That’s really perfect.

I’m definitely focused on leveling up.

I like what you youngins are doing… will support hit me if you need anything.

We’ve come a long way in a year.

Man I might try to make it out to this. I might just take the day off and come down. I need to level up bad also need my stick modded for play on the ps3.

This is pretty far, but I wanna play. I’ll try to find a way.

Some of you may know me, most of have probably seen me. I’m the owner of Xanadu and I’ve been in the fighting game scene for a couple of years. When I started Xanadu I knew that I wanted to somehow give something to the community and honestly what the Maryland community needed the most was a place to play.

Maryland has REAL TALENT.

Maryland has placed well in the past. Maryland was one of THE Tekken states. We’ve got a couple of very notable players but what we didn’t have was a place for that knowledge and skill to be passed on to the new generation of players.

Starting today I am going to be working the Rugal, Moroha, Havok, Steve H, and a whole bunch of other Maryland players to help build a thriving community for Maryland. Maryland can be the best, all it takes is a place where players come to play and learn. I want for Xanadu to be that place.

I truly hope that everyone comes out to level up, play and have fun. I can honestly say that we’re trying our best to put Maryland back on the map.

Yup, you know I’m down.

Pete I should say that Venue fee is waived for Monthly Members. I’ll get hav to Edit that in the post. So 5 dollars for NON Members.

Happy now Petey?

LOL. You and other-white-dude-that-works-at-XG have two contradicting statements then. He’s been saying that the venue fee wasn’t waived for the RanBats and made me pay the extra $5 at the last RanBat.

edit

Oh, and Steve H made me pay $3 last night when I clearly remember the last RanBat was on (if not, around) 4/10/10 and I had paid my monthly membership fee then. And I don’t know if you and/or Steve H knows this, but… it hasn’t been a month yet… hence why I called him “money-hungry.”

Alright Pete we’ve never had a ranbat before this???

And if Steve made you pay yesterday tell him to check the membership database. I can’t help it if Steve’s retarded.

Real Talk Pete, if you have a membership and you paid yesterday I’ll get you your money back. But you didn’t seem to be in the best state last night sir.

Just come see me IRL.

Stickied GET HYPE AND OIL UP.

i’ll try my best to make it to each one. very good thing you guys have going here

Awesome idea. 6 hour drive during the middle of a 9-5 week ain’t happening for me, but I’d just like to say good shit. I’ll be tuning into the stream.

According to you and everyone else, the tourneys before this were initially called, “RanBats,” despite the fact that they didn’t run like RanBats.

Yeah, I know… dude just got his Associate’s degree… I’m happy for him.

LOL, I was feeling like I was in a good state last night.

But you don’t have to give me the $3 back; you can just give me 3 free drinks, lol. We can consider it an “investment.”

I’ll try my damnest to be there weekly…time for me to level up.

Alright Petey I’ll cover your drinks.

Thank you, sir. :china:

yesss THANK YOU WALLSTREET
