Hey all, been messing around with Ghost Rider a bit recently, trying out Brewski’s team for funsies. I really dig playing GR and Shuma on the same team, but is there anyone else I could use to fill the role that Doom(plasma beam assist) does? Optimally, a beam that lets me convert off j. S is what I want but I can’t think of much other than Iron Man, Thor and maybe Modok? I feel like Magneto’s may also work but I can’t play him for crap. Any ideas?

Nova is a combo extender
After H chain grab i try to reset the player with either
-if they roll fwd heartless spire wit centurion rush (unblockable)
-or jus cr.H with centurion rush (unblockable if timed right)
Any suggests frm anyone about my team
Heartless Spire with Centurion Rush isn’t an unblockable, they can block that standing.
I would personally put Hawkeye as anchor instead of Nova. Nova benefits from assists. He’ll have a harder time opening up incoming characters if they have XF on deck, especially since they can guard cancel and scoop him, which Doom and Vergil can do and kill off of. Hawkeye anchor doesn’t do as much damage, but his incoming mix-ups are better and if you’re using GR as a battery, you can build a ton of meter for XF3 Hawkeye. Also, need us not forget, Nova infinite. You’ll find it kinda hard to TAC sometimes as GR, but if you can and you can do Nova’s infinite, go for it. With Centurion Rush, you’ll be able to get free pick-ups off grabs with GR if you call assist and spire. All in all, it’s not a bad set-up, but you’ll maximize your damage with Ghost Rider using Heartless Spire assist instead of Chain of Rebuttal. It helps you extend some of your Nova combos, and so long as you have Hawkeye assist for your neutral, you should be alright.

is there any synergy with Ghost Rider / Strider? Does he convert well off of Vajra? What kind of damage can he get from a Vajra knockdown?
Yeah, a little bit but strider is strider…he’s good with everyone. He can’t convert from nothing aside from a Hellfire L or “burn” XFactor from there. Its good but not efficient

At the moment I’m testing out Hulk(Gamma Wave)/Ghost (Heartless Spire)/Ammy (Cold Star) and I am liking it so far, ocaisonally swapping Hlk and Ghost on point.
Ghost rider can actually combo a fair bit off of Hulks Gamma Wave OTG from multiple ranges along with it offering a little bit of cover if you want to try and get in on some keepaway characters. Heartless Spire helps to shield Hulk from projectile happy characters and act as an OTG for him. Ammy’s Cold Star provides fantastic support to both Hulk and Rider and extending some of Rider’s combos during heavy chain juggles at max range along with his Heartless Spire being a good OTG for Ammy. Least that’s how it’s going for me so far, I’m still extremely new to UMVC3 after not playing vanilla in a loooong time :V
If I wanted to run Ghost Rider/Morrigan/Assist, who would serve me best last?

What assists does GR really like? I know pretty much any addition to his movelist is helpful, but I’m working on set ups that make him viable right now.
The ideas other users posted above are good, I think a slow moving projectile/something he can confirm off of is good for Rider, and a defensive assist. Since you’re using Strider I think Deadpool and his quick work would be good (travels good distance, can confirm off it, and unblockable if you can scare the opponent into staying on the ground).
Okay I have two really friggin’ good teams lined out. What do you guys like more?
-GR/Morrigan/Strider (Meter, ALL THE LEVEL 3s!)
-GR/Spencer/Strider (Damage, Resets)
If those are unsatisfactory, I could always play around further with Repulsar Blast, Missiles, Mystic Ray, or Strange (Daggers).
GR/Spencer works for the Penance Stare gimmick but the damage is average because you waste the wall bounce ( Eat Chain L or M) and you dont get the usual doble Bionic Maneuvers.
So I play Ghost Rider/Felicia/Dante, and I’m having this issue.
I do a basic wallbounce combo into light grab, then felicia cat spike while backward heavy, another light grab, dante jam session while backwards heavy, and then light grab again, and finish with a QCF light into Super.
I’ve done this a million times, today even, but all of the sudden it just will not work. Any idea why? I seriously sat there for over two hours trying it over and over and it didn’t work a single time. If it’s just not something that works and I dreamed it all up (ridiculous, but yea) then I guess what else can I supplement?
Sometimes it happens. For example, I can’t use Dr. Doom because after playing him for a while I can’t do his side foot dive anymore as weird as it sounds. I always get the butter gun. Either A) Keep practicing it or B) Take a break.
Okay, if I were to make a list of GR’s 10 best partners, who would that be? I think it would go something like (no order):
-Doom
-Shuma
-Iron Man
-Strider
-Dante
-Spencer
-Morrigan
-Vergil
-Strange
-Sentinel? (No idea who could really go here)
Arthur, Doom, Dr Strange, Dante, Shuma (NOT OPTIMAL) everything else is irrelevant.
Vergil is only good for the DHC thats it

Double Hadangeki, Rapid Slash and Greyhound are the best horizontal assists Ghost Rider can get from top tier characters. He needs that to get any safe conversion off a high/low mixup, usually set up with missiles. They also all give great DHC options to and from Ghost Rider, in and out of combos.
Put Zero, Hawkeye or Vergil in front of Ghost Rider/Missiles, and you got yourself a stew going.
