We Shall Never Surrender - The Devil May Cry 4 Thread - Come on, babes. Let's rock!

No, not saying it was easy but I’m also not saying it was extremely hard. The thing is until games create a really good ai code all games will have a certain pattern. Some are harder to pick up on but after that you can completely spam that advantage. In all DMCs the enemies get a certaing pattern so you can avoid hits and all that other stuff. Either way I’m mostly going to get this game for the story (kinda want to know what happens), but I already expect the gameplay to be like the other DMCs.

I find Frosts to be the most interesting enemies in the game. They’re pretty much the only enemies that are much easier for Nero than for Dante.

But yeah. Something I’d like to add is that, when you do a DT grab with Nero, you can still shoot spectral blades for extra chip damage and more style points, so mash that shit out.

Anyway, I just got a new HDD for my PS3, so I probably won’t be playing until that’s all installed and taken care of.

EDIT: Shinobi (PS2) is arguably the hardest (fair, non-broken) game I’ve ever played. Hiruko alone is harder than DMC and Ninja Gaiden combined.

Yea… COD4 on veteran is insanely hard. I’m not saying it’s impossible or nothing, but FAR FROM EASY.

I second the hope for vergil to pop up in this game. By far my fav character of the series.

It’s hard in the sense that if you try to play the normal way you’re gonna do it for a while. I played it first on hard mode and liked every level but on veteran I only liked the mission where you have to input the code to stop the missiles and the last mission after the creds. In veteran mode it’s about avoiding the enemy or taking control of a territory which is pretty boring. Playing THAT way makes it a lot easier but it’s no fun. I only did it for the achievement points, eventhough, they don’t do SQUAT. How hard are the achievements in DMC4? Saw something about survival mode or something like that.

Some of them are easy, some of them are really hard (like going through Bloody Palace with an S rank. Good luck on that one), and some of them just take freaking forever (like getting 1 million Proud Souls).

Guess some of you guys should know, are they making a DMC5? I haven’t kept up with this games news but I would assume they’d make another one.

Honestly I don’t care about my gamerscore. Most of the time I forget there even are achievements. I’m not going to waste my time getting something that has no value in it. Plus no one really cares what score or achievements you get anyway.

:u: That and, if you’re playing on PS3, no one even knows what you get unless they really go out of their way to scope out your profile. It is kind of nice to get little rewards as you play, though.

I know it’s pointless to get points. That’s why I have so little. Some people on my friends list have 10,000+ and I’m thinking “why would you play those boring games just to get points?” I’ll play a game through and if I like it I’ll try to go for the points since it’s a little bit of a trophy that other’s can see if they want. Back in the psx days I’d play rpgs and do something like beat a boss with a million hp with only one item but there was NO way of proving it. I don’t care too much about it but it’s nice to know it’s there. I have about 3,000+ points from ONLY 10 games that I liked. I’m not wasting time and money on some of those trash ea sports games just to raise it. Achievement points serve as an addition to the game and sometimes actually make the game more fun. Dead rising was pretty fun because of that, for me anyways.

It’s Capcom, there will be a DMC5.

But of course they will drag you through hell and high water.

“We want to see how the reaction towards DMC4 will be. But of course we will look at the possibility of a DMC5 in the future.”

Watch, DMC5 will take place between 4 and 2. And then DMC6 will take place between 5 and 2.

And then DMC41 will take place between 40 and 2. DMC2 never happened.

Ridiculous! The game got an average score of 7.5 for christs sakes. They act like the game did NOTHING right, when in fact DMC2. . .

-introduced weapon switching
-dual heroes
-trickster/gunslinger
-stylish action

Yeah guns were overpowered, and the design as a whole were uninspired but it wasnt THAT bad.

And the more sequels they make BEFORE DMC2 the smaller are my chances of seeing that PHAT BOOTY Lucia again!!! Her pixels used to switch when she walked!!!

Actually yeah. DMC2 is a mediocre-to-good game in most respects, but it completely and utterly fails as a Devil May Cry game.

Here’s what they did wrong: Stinger doesn’t shake the screen. This is my biggest gripe with the game; the hits don’t look like they hurt.

EDIT: And DMC1 had weapon switching and Stylish! DMC2 replaced Stylish! with Showtime! and SStylish!!

I’d be ok with that. That would give use a better chance to play as Lady, Trish, Vergil, Nero, Kyrie, Nelo Angelo, Blitz…:looney::rofl:

Wasn’t DMC2 initially a different project when it was created and later converted into a DMC game?

lol . .well yea.

My thing is. . there are plenty of games that have a shitty sequels, the companies dont write the whole thing out. They just evolve the series more using what worked and what didnt work as inspiration. Clearly they kept what WORKED in DMC2 so why act as if it never existed? Its apparent.

SIDENOTE::

I love how they brought back the puppets, blades and frosts from DMC1. . .BUT. . WHERE is SIN SCISSOR and SHADOW?? I could only imagine how sickening they would have been in this game.

Sin Scissor >> Mephisto

Shadows would probably be too hard for the casual gamer. They make Blitzes look like babies.

I would’ve loved to see the Sin Scythes return. Also has everyone forgotten about the Fallen Angels in DMC3? Theres always an enemy in every DMC game that makes you feel sick when they appear on screen. I found them more annoying then Blitz.

Fallen Angels werent … “hard” . .it was the fact that they didnt show the damage you inflicted on them so it made you feel as if you pounding on them was useless. It took forever to break that shield. Phasing into the walls and just hiding out destroying your style points…annoying as hell.

How about a top 10 list of annoying DMC enemies?

  1. Blitz (dmc4)
  2. Shadow (dmc1)
  3. Posessed Archer Statue (dmc3)
  4. Pyromancer/Auromancer/Brontomancer (dmc2)
  5. Chimera/Mega Puppets (dmc4)
  6. Blood Goat LOOOOLOLOLOL (dmc2)
  7. Cutlasses (dmc4)
  8. Gladiuses (dmc4)
  9. Fallen Angel (dmc3)
  10. Infested Tank/Infested Gorilla (dmc2)

The rank of annoyance depends on how many and what difficulty you play on.
