We Shall Never Surrender - The Devil May Cry 4 Thread - Come on, babes. Let's rock!

If you’re not totally kidding you’re a fuckin retard son…

OR I am just picky about my games. I wasnt kidding at all.

I tried playing the dmc 1 and 2 but I got bored QUICK ! I thought they made some changes by now…

lol Go back to Dat Madden duke, you can go ahead and leave the real games to the real gamers then. GTAIV comes out in a couple months.

Well, DMC2 was really shitty… but DMC1 was really, really good. I’m not really sure how you were expecting anything more than what the series is known for. How does it get boring beating up shit tons of monsters with wicked sick combos? :wonder:

Maybe he doesn’t know his combos? One of my friends really sucks at DMC combos mainly because the combos aren’t listed and players have to learn on their own.

Isn’t what on top still random though?

Do you guys think it’s mandatory to play parts 1-3 before playing part 4??

I’d start from part 1, but I’m lacking a PS2 at the moment.

Well if you plan to play 1 and 3 you should before playing 4. Especially DMC1. The gap in the gameplay is too vast to backtrack from DMC4 to DMC1.

Nope, I only played pieces of part 3 and then stopped cause I started playing something else. So I’m kind of new to the DMC series and I caught on quickly and it was crazy fun too. You will catch on soon enough, but remember you should be very creative because you can do so much with your characters. Especially dante… But actually nero is very creative as well.

And to the guy who had trouble getting his SSS combos down… Well with Nero I have an easy time doing them with that MAX-ACT ability. The one where you have to hit the exceed button right after an attack. I almost get it 90% of the time now in my combos, so sometimes I get max level 3 instantly and do a great deal of damage. Or sometime get lvl one consistently for good damage within the combos. So if you can get your timing down then you should be good to go. But you can still get SSS without it, but it’s sometimes difficult.

With Dante it’s pretty good too since u can switch from Gilgamesh to rebellion. Like just start creating combos or practicing them before you do them and you’ll get it. That one move where he throws the sonic waves or whatever it’s called… Anyway, that should boost the combo up a lot.

On another note: I didn’t do a lot of those secret missions and still maxed out my health. Some of them were just too dumb and a waste of time I swear… That was some optional annoying things you could do in the game, and also that damn forest was really LAME on the annoying note.

**
P.S. Bloody Palace is beautiful on HD and with custom music it’s too good. If you have a 360 then download “escape from the fortress” it’s from the metal gear snake eater soundtrack. That song to bloody palace is sick!** And Dante’s personality is too good lol! He had me cracking up after one of those boss fights. “First I whip it out” “Then I thrust it until…” “We are both satisfied” lol!

They follow a sequence. Just keep a close eye on it.

yessss, just finished DMC4.

i wish they added more weapons for Nero and Dante(especially Dante), i feel the weapon selection for DMC3 was better, but overall i had more fun with DMC4.

So far the environments remind me of the first DMC (castle) along with a touch of RE4

Woo! Just got my copy for the PS3 and am installing right now. I’m usually late to the parties anyway.

The forest is just so random. How far has everyone gotten on the bloody palace?

The ending was kool, nero really does have some badass throws:wgrin: Gilla mesh and rebleion is the sickness, ididnt mess around too much with pandorasa box though, mehh…

ok people, one of my friends was playing the game at his house, he’s not a newbe either… He said…

He was useing nero, and just started to fight these 3 armored guys , he didnt even touch them yet, they just appeard… So he said Nero did some kinda charge move, somthing blew up and he attacked the 3 amourd guys killed them all with one hit and got an instant tripple 3:confused:

So i asked him if he was in deviltriger , he said no, i asked him if he had max act, he said no, then i asked him if he had a full exceed gauge, again no… He said it was a move he never seen before, and it only happen once… Then i asked him if he was fighting people before the amored knights came in, he said no:confused: It was just an instant kill move that gave him a instant sss rateing… WTF??? N e thing weird like that happen with you guys?? Is it possible that there are secret moves?? That would be pretty kool.

And for some strange reasone, i cant get those damn Lucifer combos to work with Dante, wtf?? I timing must be really off, i tried foir a good 5 minutes and it one other combo came out randomly…

Yea forest is… :\ And I played bloody palace with nero and was getting SS all day until I ran into that lightning bastard who you can’t hit unless you shoot him with charged shots and knock the electric off of him first and then he’s all wild anyway… I didn’t level up my gun with nero yet but now I did, so he has something coming to him now lol!

If you time it right, you can reflect that big projectile the knights shoot back at them for instant kills and instant SSS rating. The timing is really hard, but its really cool when its done. I restarted Mission 8 a bunch of times just so I can get it done right

Beat Son of Sparda today. Took about 6-7 hours. Died twice, both times to Blitz(fake-ass DMC1 Shadow :arazz:). Its definitely the old DMC3 difficulty, and I had a few close calls with some bosses, but it wasn’t that hard. I will admit I use a Holy Water or two when shit got real greasy…

Mission 19 is pretty easy once you learn how to use the die right. Like everyone said, the number on top is the number rolled, so after every boss battle, land on the blue spaces to get your health back. Easy.

DMD mode tomorrow? I might get it started, but I don’t know if I can beat it this weekend(got some work to do), but I give it my best shot :nunchuck:

Also, DMC4 sold 250k on the first week. Pretty good for something that came out at the SAME TIME as SSBB >_>

Of course, Japanese PS3 sales > 360 sales.

are you guys sure for mission 19 the top number is the number that will be rolled? i tried doing it and it was all random. only time it worked was at the laboratory.

So playing through Son of Sparda the extra damage you do to Berial with the buster move while in Nero’s Devil Trigger…Wow just wow:lovin::lovin:

I actually went back on Devil Hunter mode and tried to better my grade on mission 18. I got a C on my first time through. This time i actually got a B mainly cause of the time. Now i just need to figure out how to get some style points going against the statue.

Well yeah…just beat it and I can’t help but feel disappointed. Ridiculous amount of repetition and re-used assets made the game a chore to play around the time I started using Dante. The bosses weren’t all that interesting as it is, so having to fight most of them so many times was truly a chore. Then the ending sucked too. Was hoping for something more badass and to see Dante and company at least one more time, but it was not to be. Well, on the Story Theater, it does say “Epilogue 01”, is there a second ending?

Anyways, enough ranting, time to take a break and see if I’ll feel like playing this tomorrow again.
