Yeah, I was worried about that too. I hope so. I DO NOT WANT to play DMC4 in Japanese. DMC3 at least had language options, so I figure 4 should at the very least.
Sometimes it seems random. Like, the Japanese version of Ratchet and Clank just auto-displayed everything in English. But Japanese COD4 menus and what not are in Japanese with no option to change it in sight.
It’s not random at all, it is up to the developer/publisher to include all versions on the same disc.
Japanese COD4 was not handled by Infinity Ward/Activision, Spike localized it for Japan iirc.
The demo is a good indicator for these types of things anyway, pretty sure Capcom included all the versions on the same disc, ESPECIALLY considering that the regional versions are only separated by a few days apart.
:u: Insomniac and Naughty Dog use hardware region-decoding, so all their games will just “automatically” follow CERO/ESRB guidelines, depending on your PS3. But I hear that’s harder to implement than to just make two versions of the game, so that’s why most PS3 games don’t have it.
However, when I was playing the Japanese DMC4 demo, it was auto-displaying all the splash screens in English. That’s why I wonder.
Ah, okay. Thanks for clearing that up. Considering that PS3 is region-free, it would be nice if they’d include all versions.

But I guess I want the American collector’s disc, as I want my special features in English (but if there’s an English language option in yours, please do tell me!).
That’s the Japanese one if you look closely. 
It’s only bundled with NTSCJ preorders, and the two Japanese 40GB DMC4 bundles.

Oh right that special Blu-ray that comes with DMC4, is only for PS3, not for 360, for obvious reasons.
EDIT: From the looks of it, it looks like that BD only comes with the 40GB bundle, it is NOT the preorder disc (which is a DVD).
Oh well, I’ll find out when I get mine.

Am I the only one who preferred the DMC2 animation of the Steel Rain (gunslinger E&I upside down air shot) as opposed to the DMC3 and even more wild DMC4 versions?

Virgil didnt widen the experience THAT much from the original to the point where it needed a near perfect score. He didnt even have cutscenes. 1up does some nice coverage but their reviews are just as dry as those other know-it-all publications.
