These games START in DMD mode. Everything before that is tutorial.
And Dios, DMC has the sharpest, most responsive controls in a game of this genre, they’re just used differently than other games. You won’t “move” between enemies, and you won’t jump to get places. To get to your next enemy, you’ll use attacks like “stinger” and other movement-based attacks. The only time you’ll be on the ground “running” is when everything you can possibly reach is dead. The entire point is that there won’t be a moment of down-time. DMC1 played completely differently… it was much more survival horror than the current series.
Little Alex got a gun he took from his dad
That he snuck into school in his black book bag
His black nail polish, black boots and black hat
He gon’ blow away the bully that just pushed his ass
Nero is quite an interesting character to play as. He’s a lot more fun to use than i originally thought. My only gripe is that you have to let go of RB/R1 during aerial combat to use buster. It’s a little awkward.
I might be behind on this, but did anyone else notice during the Berial boss fight that the sign posts said Mundus?
man, i loved the demo. funny thing is, i never really liked dmc3. i like the enemy designs better from what i’ve played so far. i played the 360 version, but i’ll buy the ps3 one just because i like the controller better for this kind of game
So it looks like Nero gets Yamato later in the game, right? Just imagine the combo possibilities. Launch - Red Queen - Yamato - Slam - Grab - Yamato - Red Queen - Guns for the hell of it - Slam - Grab. Delicious.
The enemies in the demo were way too easy, yeah. But I’ve been playing the hell out of DMC3 lately, so… I wonder if I should start this game on hard (if they let us).
There were a couple of areas where you had to use Nero’s Grab to warp from one place to another. While that is cool, it makes me wonder about other characters. I assume that we should be able to play though the whole game with other characters (Dante at least, but I’m hoping for Lady too…). How will those areas be handled? Maybe just a warp-point like in DMC3?
Also, down on the street, you could see a shitload of demons and cars on fire and what not…I really wanted to go down there and start smashing some shit up. Damn you Capcom for that cocktease.
From what we’ve been hearing, the first 60% of the game is Nero, then Dante for the final 40%, then back to Nero for the final boss. Theoretically, we should be able to at least play Nero’s 60% with Dante and vice-versa after beating the game.
I think a big thing that the industry expects from sequels (and perhaps why DMC2 is considered a failure) is that it builds upon the last game without going backwards. DMC3 had two playable characters (and a lot of people wanted Lady to be playable) so I sort of expect the same for DMC4…but who knows. We’ll see I guess.
They almost certainly have to have alternate outfits.
The game is SICK. Got the demo on Xbox Marketplace this morning. Nero is effing awesome, I don’t really want to go back to Dante and his ugly ass weapons and DT now.
As for the game, fucking sweet. I almost wish I didn’t play it now since I won’t be here for launch day. Wetting my appetite like this is gonna make it all the more difficult. :looney:
