Death: its because the enemies die so fast, man. I only got SSS once.
They usually die when I get atomic or brutal.
Also a few things;
you can’t rev and fire at once which is actually kind of weird. So that means you have to stun the enemy or use it as a combo starter in order to get it to raise your bar.
One of the puppet enemies just hit me out of an air-combo. I find that interesting.
Edit: Oh, and the standard DB throw looks like it’ll end up being garbage.
I’m assuming it will be if its the same for Nero. I guess we’ll have to see. But I gotta say, the devil bringer is gonna make for some awesome throws on bosses. I thought the one on Berial was really well done. The throws for Frosts were cool too.
Just played the demo on xbox 360. it was alright. i dont like that there is no run button or double jump * iono if devil may cry ever had it, but it feels like it needs it * Im pretty sure the controls listed on the demo, showed buttons not being used on the controller, and im sure one of them, could have been a run button. Holding forward for awhile to have it run is just silly.
the gameplay was alright, was expecting more craziness. Also, am i not paying attention to the controls or something, or is there no dodge or roll button to move around swiftly during battle? it feels too slow and boring to me. god of war it action done right. it might not look as pretty, but it feels so much better.
I went to the psn to dl there and see it in hdmi, but it wasnt uploaded yet. bleh.
Double jumps are unlockable. While locked on hit left or righ and right A to dodge. run for a few seconds and They’ll speed up. (there’s your run button) buttons more than likely will be used later.
Dante has always had double jumps but you needed to purchase the move in order to use it, that and seeing as Nero has the devil bringer i don’t think he really needs it.
also in the demo i noticed if you moved in one direction long enough Nero automatically started running. and there are controls for dodging, you probably weren’t paying attention to the inserts that paused the gameplay.
Skills like Double jump need to be bought with red orbs you collect. Other skills are purchasable as well, which actually do make the game a lot more crazy and fun. And once the tougher enemys come around, the more challenging and fun it’ll get. And of course the weapons help, and the fact that they are all upgradable.
You dodge/roll, when your in aim/target mode, where you target 1 enemy at a time. Just hold down the button, and press jump and the direction you want to roll in at the same time. Easy as pie Trust me, give the game a chance. It’ll get a lot cooler… Well I hope at least o_O
Btw I personally thought the demo was pretty beast. Cool boss battle, and its fun to use Neros new toy ( DevilBringer >=] ) Plus it looks pretty amazing.:looney:
Eh, GoW and DMC games play totally different. If you play DMC long enough, it’ll start to feel like a fighting game. The combos are pretty creative, the timing is intense and precise, and you’ll find yourself branching through ideas and defenses quickly in your head. The game’s pacing only start to get really fast when you’re on the high difficulties challenging your reflexes. GoW has a very low entry point. You “get” the game fast, and you grow progressively through the game as it gives you what you need. DMC pretty much requires you to force yourself to rise to challenges. Then again, I have about 300 hours played between DMC3 and the DMC3 re-release. On Dante Must Die difficulty, the game will make you sweat bullets and react like the controller is grafted to your spine. GoW games never make me work for anything.
Good that there is rolling and double jumping, ill check that out later, but still, running by holding a direction for a few seconds? that sucks, there should be a button for that shit. i remember when you first get the grapple in the church, when you get to the top of the church, there is a long corridor you have to walk to the end to, to get to the next grapple. i walked about 75% of the way before run kicked in, and im like wtf, thanks for doing it now. seriously. on the 360 ver. i dont think left trigger is used for anything, so it would be nice if i could have a assigned run button.
It only takes about 5 secs for it to get into sprint mode. And besides the running seriously isn’t that bad. It’s not like it takes hours to reach somewhere, most of the places you travel to you will get to within minutes. And most likely there will always be enemies along the way. Maybe I’m just used to it from playing past DMC games though.
So I just got done playing this game on my PS3, and I’m pretty much sold. Also if you guys did not know their is just frame timing with the sword swipes that charges up the rev instantly one level. Each swipe has a Just Frame, including the launcher and air hits. You should always have at least one rev charged while owning someone up. Which is why I never got an s, because I killed the enemies way to fast.
