I didn’t notice the sixaxis responding to anything. The camera was set on the right analog stick so…there goes that theory.
I also miss Dante as well. I want more styles and weapons and guns and…damnit I want the full game already! Although, revving Nero’s sword is pretty sweet. So much damage and style.
The new sprint is such a simple yet very useful feature. It will definitely come in handy when backtracking.
Yes, but the two player aspect i was referring to is, when you call out dopplaganger, if you have the second player controller plugged in, a friend can control the copy while he’s out. really dosent last long enough to truley enjoyit though… On another note, downloading demo now, 72% complete… Onyx has to go to work in an hour… Onyx will be late for work today:rolleyes:
Yes, this game is TOO FUCKING GOOD. Devil Bringer OWNS! Launch - air combo - slam - pick that fucker right back up - air combo again - slam. My only regret is that the demons were dying way too fast.
On the port level, if you whiz all the way through it, you can technically fight Berial with the time limit. Which I did, but I only had like 45 seconds, so I couldn’t beat him.
OMG, I did the face slam on Berial as seen in the trailer! That shit was TOO FUCKING SWEET! And then with Berial down, I used Devil Bringer, picked his ass up, and THREW HIM ACROSS THE SCREEN.
You can use the Devil Bringer against large foes/bosses to basically get close to them and whup on them. So awesome. I was doing jump - attack - double jump - attack - devil bringer - attack some more.
It looks like you can rev up Red Queen to 3 levels, which makes your sword attacks much more potent.
I am so hyped for this game now.
EDIT
I like Nero. Not bad so far, and while his wisecracks aren’t Dante level, they weren’t bad.
And when he’s making the fight noises, does anyone else get reminded of the Power Rangers?
Keep whomping on him, and he’ll get to a point where he kind of collapses. That’s where you can grab him and slam him.
It’s not so much a double jump. I was doing a regular jump, attack Berial, then jump off Berial, attack him again, then use Devil Bringer to get closer again. Nero has a lot of options to keep him in the air.
The first time I threw Berial, he nearly took out all the buildings. I was in awe and couldn’t help but smile.
The song in the church is nice too. I stood around in there after the 3rd or 4th time through since I knew I would have time.
Smacking the ice beasts into each other is too fun. They’d charge up to throw shit at me and I would shut em up by pulling it in, only to throw it into his buddy. :nunchuck:
Edit: The reviewers are all over the place anyway. Some say it’s too hard while others say it’s too easy. Psssh, only thing I needed was this demo. So hyped now for the full release.
dunno if you guys noticed, but you can carge up your lamp one step in mid combos, or usually after a big hit, like the uppercut or dashing attack, just press and hold right after or during a big hit and you’ll see a gauge in your lamp full up one step instantly. I have’nt figured out exactly doto do it all the time, but try it a few times and youll get it… So this way you dont always have to stop and carge up,kool… another thing im sure you all saw, is that when you have at least one lamp gauge, you can press and hold that dashing attack, and release when you feel like it, only whne ur charged though.
So anytime Berial is “red,” you can grab him. This actually comes in handy for the last bits of his life (he’ll turn red, but he won’t collapse), where you can just end him right there by grabbing him real quick. Otherwise, as it turns out, he’ll do some super attack that takes more than half your life.
So just so I’m crystal clear, I’ll see this little baby when NA updates later today, or should I create a JPN account? I’m at work right now anyway so I’ll be able to wait it out.
Yes, you should see it this afternoon. If not, you can create a Japanese account then, since you can’t really get it now anyway, right?
But do get it. Because it’s so good.
EDIT: Is anyone actually using Nero’s gun? It feels like it kind of REALLY SUCKS to me, and I’ve only been using it to keep my combo gauge going as I rush up toward my targets.
Sweet, I can’t wait. But this is yet, another (welcome) distraction to my Dark Ressurection practice I need to do for my tournament Saturday. Somebody isn’t fuckin with any money matches this time… points to self.
As much as we’ve been bitching until now, this actually seems like the right timing for a hold over until full release.
As for Nero’s gun. I’m sure it’ll end up being like Artemis in DMC3 from what I can tell. It appears you can charge it, so charging it at an unconventional point during combos so that using a charged shot at the height of an air combo or something would be an effective way to use it.
Oh well. Dante was REALLY barebones in the original Devil, but did enough cool shit to get him by. But comparing to what he does now…well you can’t really. Nero will eventually have some more tricks in future games. And considering who he actually is…I’d expect some cool additions.
Oh, no. Nero is far from bare bones. His devil bringer alone ups the variety in his mix-ups significantly and gives him mobility and combo options Dante wishes he has. For example, in the demo alone, there are two types of grab: a swing-into-slam grab and pull-your-enemy-to-you grab. Combining them gives you a ton of combo possibilities. For example, let’s say you commit to a launcher and jump into the air but failed to launch your opponent. No problem. Pull him up and then wreck his face! Maybe even slam him back down.
But the gun…it just kind of sucks. It’s like shotgun slow and E&I weak at the same time.
This demo is sooooo damn good. The only complaint is the fucking right bumper is a bit odd for lock-on. I’ll be sure to change that when I get the real deal.
Yeah, Nero’s gun is pretty lame. As you said, I only use it to keep the combo going. Hopefully, they added some type of rev action to his gun as well for the final version.
It wasn’t quite that slow, but yeah even the charge shot seemed pretty weak. Like pretty much every gun in the DMC series, I use it in combos just for the hell of it
Nero’s sword and Devil Bringer are just badass, though
