dunno about PSN…went to nipponbashi before i got home today and was surprised they didn’t have a demo going at any of the stores.
Yeah, I meant where in Osaka do you live so I could go to your house and play the demo. :razzy: I just hope it’ll be up on PSN by the time I get home. crosses fingers That, and to convince the little woman to stop watching crappy Japanese TV tonight while I go smash some demons.
And with as many people waiting for this demo, I imagine there’s going to be quite a flood on the servers. DL’ing might take awhile.
So reports have surfaced that XBOX people are playing the demo right now, with the US PSN demo comes out tomorrow afternoon
With what I can make out of the blog in the official DMC website, it says that it will come out in Japan during the evening of 1/24

Sony always updates at around the same time. Plus, we’ve waited so long already. We can wait another 12 hours or so.

fun demo. you go from this area full of mansions to like a port area, get a bridge to fall, then cross into an ice tundra. that’s when i ran out of time. you can pick between exterminator and executioner demos, not super sure what the difference is just yet. i’ll report on some of the abilities soon, but i’m a total dmc newbie so some of them might be really familiar to everyone.</spoiler>
I think the other mode is just a boss fight with that fire demon.
ok beat the flame boss, not too hard. i think if you attack his head he goes into vulnerable mode, then you can throw him into the houses for big damage + life ups.
looks like that’s the end of the demo. really cool, i’m definitely gonna play this one.

There must be a ton of people downloading this right now because my PSN is super fuckin’ slow for everything except my download. 
Impression so far:
There are two modes: 1 time limit, 1 set in ice stage (though you can still get to it in the first)
The control feels great with DS3. I played the time limit first, and it felt like a warm-up match for me, just kind of having me getting use to Nero’s moves and his control schemes. The 60 FPS is amazing, though I must say I miss Dante already…I personally feel Nero’s control schemes (at least right now at the beginning level) is really designed to woo the newbie into the franchise… I want my active style switch damn it
The ice stage is more fun for me simply because the frosties are fun to play with, and for you NG fans out there, yes they do attack and evade just like your ninjas. I died, but now I am going back again
I hope in the retail version they put music in the loading screen just like DMC3. And personally, I like Shootie HG better. But the battle music is not bad here as well

So far I’ve only figured out two default combos for the sword. For simplicity’s sake because of the different platforms (Y button vs Triangle button), let’s just refer to the sword/melee attack button as S.
Combo one: Sx4 (no timing required). Standard 4 hit combo. Last hit should knock down.
Combo two: S, S, wait (Nero will bring his sword to around his back), Sx4. I think you only need to get S four more times for the full combo, but it could be three. Pretty good combo and hits the area around him in 360s a couple times, but it didn’t seem to work too well on the ice lizards. lol~
You also have your standard moves such as Stinger, High Time, Aerial Rave, etc. The Devil Buster is pretty cool, especially once you get the ability to grab enemies from afar (which seems to be the first or second mission… likely the second since fighting Dante appears to be the first mission of the game). Doing Slam Dunk gets you a lot of style points, but tossing around ice lizards takes too long and they can shoot you out of it. :sad:
Revving up your sword to level 3 is fucking awesome. Stinger into a group of enemies with a level 3 charge and you’ll get huge style points for blowing them the fuck up. Awesome. Other sword attacks seem to have different effects, but I haven’t tried them all yet. However, regular sword combos didn’t seem to have any effect, even on level 3, other than increased damage… I think.
Overall, cool demo. Gonna play it some more tomorrow.
The boss fight with Belial was pretty damn cool, as were the cutscenes involving him. I can’t wait to see some of the actual story related scenes as well… since nothing but Belial vs Nero was including in the demo. :sad:

So, my demo download is done…and here I am talking about it on SRK, rather than playing it.
…Why, you ask?
It is exactly as I feared. I got home and my girlfriend was watching some God-awful TV program. Japanese people laughing at foreigners messing up the Japanese language/culture overseas. YEAH, LAUGH BITCHES, WE LAUGH JUST AS HARD AT YOU ON ENGRISH.COM. Even worse, Bobby Ologun is in this show, and I hate that fucker with every fiber of my being. Anyway, it’s 7:30, so I figure the stupid show will go off at 8 and then I can go smash some demons.
Except, I check the TV schedule, and this fucking abortion won’t go off until 9PM. :sad:
I mean, I really fucking hate Japanese TV, but never before have I wanted to bomb all the TV stations down to the ground. …Okay, maybe this is the second time. …Okay, third time. Allright, this is the first time I’ve wanted to do it with a nuke.
So here I sit on SRK, completed DMC4 demo in my PS3, and my beautiful HD TV being wasted by the most boring and fucking pointless TV ever to have existed.
I hate you all. :sad:
All I have to say is this… I was kind of scared of how it would play on 360 because the controllers suck. But playing 4 feels natural as fuck. I get the same excitement now just like the first time I played Devil May Cry 1. This game is gonna be the shit. Like everybody didn’t know that. So I’m going to slam dunk demons with my Bionic Commando/Onimusha 3 arm.
My download is done, and I just installed, but I’m having a pear right now. Will get to it soon.
PS3 guys: any Sixaxis features in this?
