We Shall Never Surrender - The Devil May Cry 4 Thread - Come on, babes. Let's rock!

Demo Thursday? Awesome, I’ll have to pick that up off the XBL Marketplace.

About Dante’s weapons magically disappearing, what the hell happened to the Sparda? It looks like they just retconned it into being the Force Edge at all times from DMC3, but why the eff wouldn’t he have it back? He gave it to Trish but she isn’t using it, guess she pawned it off or something, Capcom.

Well, I can see him not using the Sparda, what with it being the soul of his dad or something. But the other stuff just makes less sense.

At this point I am happy that there is at least some continuity and follow up to what happened after DMC1. DMC2 was completely random and DMC3 was, obviously, a prequel. Though it would be nice to see returning weapons even if they were just unlockables.

Yeah. I don’t even think the Sparda exists anymore, it looks to me like it got retconned into “powered up Force Edge”. But still Capcom, where is it in the Force Edge form?

Yep, getting a ps3 when this comes out. There’s a rumor that there’s gonna be a ps3 price drop Jan. 28 and if it’s true it’s pretty much a lock for me.

well i jus found out how y nero and dante look alike.its a spoiler so i wont say nothin unless someone wants me to but its fukin awsome and unexpected lol

Uh, isn’t rebellion one of the swords sparda used and a sister sword to force edge and yamato? That’s why dante has it.

Rebellion was given to him by Sparda. But it still doesn’t explain for me why he would use that over the Force Edge which he did use in DMC1. Hell, even the Alastor would make more sense than him deciding “I’m gonna dust off this old sword I used when I was a teenager for no apparent reason”.

Except, of course for the fact that DMC3 and the DMC3 Dante were popular and Capcom wants to milk that. Which annoys me slightly because the Rebellion is ugly as fuck thanks entirely to that retarded-ass Heavy Metal-style skeleton hilt.

How exactly do we even know that Rebellion isn’t the most powerful sword he’s had besides force edge?

Here’s how we know: In DMC3, Force Edge is more powerful than Rebellion. Then, in DMC1, Alastor is more powerful than Force Edge (more damage per hit, as well as more abilities).

but since when are weapon tiers canon?

Force Edge, so far, stroyline wise, is the most powerful sword in the DMC universe. It’s just that it can’t do anything without the other pieces of it that were given to dante and virgil.

The only thing we’re going by is the weapon inventory. and if that’s the case, Agni and Rudra owns every weapon in the universe.

You guys do realize that the demo arriving on Thursday will be for the Japanese PSN and XBLM only right?

While PS3 owners can access the Japanese PSN (go region free strategy!), you’ll need a Japanese Live Gold account to access the DMC4 demo from the JP-XBLM on Thursday. Why not your JP-Silver account? Well, you do remember that Microsoft had limited Silver accounts’ privileges sometime back, and that new content is blocked from them for a week or two in order to give Gold members exclusivity (and to give them more extras than just being able to play online).

Also, I’m not too sure about Japan-region 360 demos (since I never tried them back when I owned a 360), but Japan region 360 games ARE region locked to NTSCJ 360s.

Um, then why did s-kill announce it on the US Capcom site, dude?

Where are you getting this info, because I didn’t hear anything about anything being region specific. Are you just trying to aggravate 360 owners like you did to the wii owners in the Bionic Commando thread?

everything in this link is wrong. i have that info from a credible source.

Sweet good thing im off thurs-Sat hehe.

Read all those spoilers, cuz I mean…who really gets DMC for the captivating story anyway? I must say all of those plot points make me happy. Nero…as they explain him, makes a lot more sense now.

I like the story in DMC. I actually did the “Watch All” in the Demo Digest…was over an hour long.

6/10 on gamer.tv because the game is " too easy, puzzles too simplistic, ideas old, enemies not fresh."

I call BS on the too easy. This is the first I’ve heard of any reviewer or preview claiming the game was easy. I know there are two modes to the game: one for casuals who want to enjoy the game and get the plot - Human Mode, and Devil Hunter mode - for the core fanbase and those who want a challenge. I have a feeling they were playing on Human mode.

Edit: Not to mention there are apparently 6 difficulty modes in the game.
