^^yea thats what i do. I took me some time to get used to at first.
Got to 57 with Nero. Mephistos killed me with their lesser known moves, namely the buzzsaw attack and the dive. Level 3 charged shot is a must.
Random note: Nero’s Shuffle (RT/R1+back,forward+Y/Triangle) can be canceled with a jump or side roll after the backdash but before the swing.
For the first one, remember that you can grab an enemy and just hold them without executing a Buster. Grab a scarecrow, hold B/O, and then taunt another enemy. Also jump to avoid an attack to gain style points. You only need to go from D to C IIRC.
For the second one, just build up the Disaster gauge, then fly over the lasers using Pandora’s Epidemic (B/O in Gunslinger).
I got to Dante on 101 TWICE today…got owned with maybe 1/8th of his health. There goes 4+ hours of my life
Stupid Royal Guard release :arazz:
I beat all the Secret Missions except for the one where you have to kill all the monsters without getting hit/caught by the Wall Master thingy thanks to Youtube vids and the advice given (thanks, Zig).
:u: For that one, spam Gunslinger Pandora’s missile battery after a double jump. You don’t need a disaster gauge or anything. Just double jump, missile battery, and launch as many shots as you can (2 or 3).
I’ve pretty much taken the cheap way out of every secret mission I could. For the platform one, I used DT Trickster and just did triple jump and two sky stars to get there. The crazy Japanese player in the vid uses Calibur, but he’s crazy and Japanese.
Yeah, if there’s an easy way to do it, I’m all about that.
How the FUCK are you supposed to fight off THREE Memphisto’s with only ONE platform to stand on? C’mon now.
:u: You don’t have to fight them; you just have to get to the blue orb piece, so be a douche and “fly” over there however you can.
Yeah, I was trying that, but they kept knocking me off one way or another. What I eventually did was just fight them at the beginning, then re-activate the walkway and cross it undisturbed.
Although I just saw the vid of the Japanese guy…that was Calibur + Enemy Step, right? I spent like an hour on that mission this morning and this fucker did it in like 3 seconds.
I think it was just Air Hike. I actually did it almost as fast with my Dante method.
The vid I’m watching, its gotta be Enemy Step. He locks onto the Memphisto, and you don’t see the blue circle that usually accompanies an Air Hike. Oh well, I’ve got the fragment, I never need to worry about that ever again.
And I am so using the Pandora flight trick for SM12. :bgrin:
I was playing Mission 19 on SoS last night, and while I usually like fighting as many enemies as I can…I couldn’t help but to use the dice exploit. “Okay, blue circle, yellow circle, next…” Oh well? It was late and I wanted to get through it as quick as possible.
If you get all the blues and maybe one or two reds, you should be able to clear with S, I think.
EDIT: I’m not sure about SoS mode, but that’s definitely how it works for H and DH modes.
I got a B or C or something - don’t remember. I tend to take heavy damage at the bosses - my strategy is still to just blitz them and let the last man standing win. I need to work on my evasion strategies better.
There’s a dice exploit? I keep getting a D for time on that mission because that dice keeps screwing me over. How’s the exploit work? You can get whatever number you want or something?
:u: Dice trick is to use buster when the number you want is showing on top. You will get that number.
To follow-up Az’s deleted post, yes, the die does have a pattern. It will cycle through all six numbers in the same order over and over again, for the whole mission (although I think the order itself is randomly generated, not that it matters, really). For example, what I do is memorize the two numbers that precede the number I want and then watch for those. This gives me an extra second or so to react.
Darn you and your mod powers! shakes fist :razzy:
My method is to watch for the number I want, then do a six-count starting from the next turn. When I get to six, that’ll be the number I want again. So for example, say I want 4. I’ll watch for 4, and then when the dice turns again, I’ll start counting from one. When I get to “six”, that’ll be my cue to strike the dice, as 4 will be on top again.
Either way works. I think Deathreaper or Demon_hyo said he pauses right as the number he wants comes up. It works for him, like how our methods work for us.
At the end of the day, it’s a very easy exploit.
Reaper pauses it, I just remember the pattern. The die is very easy to breeze by, but it’s also a waste of time lol. If they make part 5 I hope they leave backtracking and other annoying things like the die out of the game.
Yeah, puzzles have never been DMC’s strength. I wasn’t bothered too much by the backtracking, but that’s mainly 'cause I’m so easily entertained by the combat alone. The first forest level with Dante was pretty annoying, what with all the teleporting. Then you had to go through it again. It’s like, Jesus, just get me out of here.
