We Need More Tekken 6 Players in Seattle

Tekken has some cool technicalities about it that I don’t see in other games, and this is one of them.

Haha, well, sweet link anyway.

Nina can be tough I think. Heihachi can be discouraging but outside of EWGF, he’s really not that hard. I would suggest you stick with these combos…

EWGF/WGF, f3, df12 B!, CD 441
ff2, EWGF/WGF, d1 B!, CD 441
1+2, CD4n4, d1 B!, CD 441
counter hit f3, CD4n4, d1 B!, CD 441
ff3, EWGF, d1 B!, CD 441

Just do what’s easy. Like I used to go for this extremely stylish ff2 juggle I got from a Korean video…

ff2, EWGF, f3, EWGF, d1 B!, CD 441

Shit’s not even necessary, and it’s a bitch to pull off sometimes. I just stick to the real now. What combo(s) are you having trouble with?

when i practice combos, i do them till i can do it 100 times successfully.
sometimes this takes days of muscle memory practice.
(i have been practicing for years for 4x ewgf but good accuracy on that combo still eludes me)

my advice. stick with easy combos. in stead of worrying about max damage, i suggest you do a easy juggle that ends with a smack down move. or a combo that pushed them far torwards the wall.

nina 1+4
hei d+1

a 8-10 pt dmg difference is a jab… and jab dmg dont matter in tekken.

Can someone teach me how to crouch cancel. Drag can get this beefy combo off of db3,(crouch cancel)d2

If anyone can help that would be most awesome.

Nina’s combo’s are all crazy to me, so I kinda dropped her a bit quick but I like her so maybe once I’m more comfortable with the system I’ll give her another shot.
My BnB Heihachi combo is the same as before: f,f+2/EWGF, d/f+1>2, CD 441. The problem is my crouch dashing sucks. I can hellsweep pretty much whenever I want to, but I can never get it to actually combo. It happened once for me, and that was when I got close to a wall. Thanks for those combos though, I didnt even know some of those moves linked like that! Shit is crazy. I’ve seen people link EWGF after f,f+2 but I thought it was counter hit only since I tried it hella times hahah.

Heihachi doesn’t discourage me at all, he’s like my go-to character when I want to play my best and have a shot at winning.

Tap up or f while crouching. I can’t stress enough how much info is on tekken zaibatsu. Please, please everyone check it out.

if you want to understand timing better, i suggest spamming dash after a hit so u can see how early u start executing moves.

grounding a opponent, and learning how to keep hard pressure will be a much better use of time than combos.

Wait that list said Dr. B… is he in T6?!

…Does T6 prove Dr. B is a girl? @_@’ Ahhhh shiiiit

Nah, the legend is for all the Tekkens.

I’m having a hard time caring about Scenario Mode but I do get crazy amounts of cash in it.

Gotta love those Youtube comments. (Found on Mystical Forest Theme page uploaded by AmbientEleven)

lordoYYH255: anna is the best looking one

driftmaniac765: yeah but she acts like a hoe sadly :frowning:

lordoYYH255: who cares i’d still hit if she were real

driftmaniac765: LOL.

lordoYYH255: put Christie in and Xiaoyu on the side its a done deal

lightwiz: The question is… Would Anna LET you hit it? We all (the guys who love Tekken) that Anna is one of those types of ladies…

lordoYYH255: i know, its easier to get those more classy types like Julia, or fun loving type like Christie

lightwiz: Lmao you are definitely not getting into Julia’s pants. Shes a good wholesome girl! …Now Christie that’s a whole different story…

I wanna work on blocking/sidestepping/sidewalking/low parrying various popular strings and breaking throws when I get the game.

make sure you are looking for opportunities for damage while you’re blocking/sidestepping/sidewalking/low parrying

also much like street fighter has different values for air time while jumping, distance and speed of forward and backdashes, tekken has characters with their weaknesses in moving as well.

christie and eddy can’t sidewalk, bears sidestep doesn’t cover good distance, lili has a grate side step and alisa’s backdash is very good.

I sidestepped this dude online and i was like “AHH YEAH!!!” and then I did 1,1 and he beat me after that. :frowning:

edit: I’ve noticed that about Alisa’s backdash - I have been able to backdash at the start of the round and then do U/F 4, 4 to most people I have faced. Lots of people that come out with 1,1 or something right at the beginning of the round.

I noticed a few new King players in the scene so here is a useful thread with the changes to King and a little information on frame data.

http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=112586

also, here is the combo portion of what King has to offer.

But I’m sure those who are new to the game of Tekken have been told over 100 times to register on Tekkenzaibatsu.com and start looking up character specifics?

If not then get on that shit! I’m not going to keep on telling you guys stuff you should be looking at forever, then again you are new and need lots of coaching…hummmmmm

You gotta learn how to back dash cancel or you’ll have recovery frames on your back dash. I normally do - bb, neutral, db or cancel into side step by bb, neutral, dd

Movement Guide (80% complete) by HelpMe

  1. Backdash

1-1. What is backdash?

After inputting b,b, there is around 0.5 seconds where you cannot block.
After the initial b,b, another b will not be recognized for around 0.5 seconds.
We remove the inability to block by inputting the fastest cancel command db and open the possibility of continuous backdash. Of course, you can cancel with b,b,f or b,b,df or even b,b,d but b,b,db remains the fastest method.

1-2. Let’s backdash easily

The backdash command is b,b,db.
b,b,db, b,b,db, b,b,db, b,b,db, b,b,db…

However, this doesn’t work as efficiently as possible. The reason is simple: if you do b,b,db continuously, your hand hurts and it is difficult to do quickly. The important note is that backdash command is b,b,db but the method to continuously backdash is not b,b,db, b,b,db.

This is very easy to compensate for.
b,b,db, b,b,db, b,b,db is not the solution; b,b,db,b, b,db,b, b,db,b, b,db,b … is it.
When you look closely, it’s the same exact command. However, the spacing between the input makes it more comfortable for your hand.

Assume b,b,db,b, b,db,b is how you backdash.
First set of commands is b,b,db,b (insert joystick reference here)
then, b,db,b (insert another joystick reference)
finally, we continuously do b,db,b, b,db,b, b,db,b, b,db,b, b,db,b… repeat (insert joystick reference here)
By doing it this way, we relieve unnecessary stress on our hand and are able to backdash faster.

1-3. Controlling range and use of bdc

It is not always beneficial to backdash cancel as quickly as possible.
During the b,db,b part of backdash cancelling, the faster the input between b,db, the shorter distance that is covered.
Doing b,db will make your backdash range longer but reduce the speed.
When should I use this!! is an expected reaction.

As the b,db part for backdash cancelling becomes faster, you are able to block faster. This would be the safer backdash.
As b,db part increases, you have more vulnerability frames (frames in which you can’t block). This becomes unsafe.

Conclusively, if you have the confidence that you can evade an attack, you do the backdash cancelling that covers more range but is more vulnerable. In the case where you are too close to the opponent and/or the situation calls for a safer option, you do the faster, safer, but covering less distance backdash cancelling.
Of course, you can just backdash cancel quickly at a far distance to look cool. keke.

1-4. Help!! I try to bdc but sway comes out!

Characters like Nina, Paul, and Bryan have a sway command that makes bdc difficult. Sway command is d,db,b and instead of doing bdc with b,b,db,b, b,db,b, you might get b,b,db,b, b,d,db,b, b,d,db,b which some people use because it is easier and looks smoother.
But the point is, you have to change the b,b,db,b, b,d,db,b, b,d,db,b to b,b,db,b, b,db,b, b,db,b.
This is the only solution.

1-5. Help!! I try to bdc but I ss!

This is a similar case. Instead of b,b,db,b, b,db,b, the result is that b,b,db,b, b,d,db,b is being registered. The d is being acknowledged as a sidestep.
Simply practice to change it to the proper bdc mentioned before.

  1. Sidestep and sidewalk

2-1. Sidestep

The command is simply u,N or d,N.
Holding down u will result in a jump and holding down d will result in a crouch.
Simply think of a slight twitch command to do a sidestep.
(joystick reference)

2-2. Sidewalk

The command is u,N,U or d,N,D. Like before, don’t hold the input down for a long time.

Sidewalk is generally used to completely evade an opponent’s move. Think of ss as a riskier option compared to sw.

However, keep in mind sw does not evade everything.
As a 3D fighting game, my character should always be facing my opponent. I should not have to sidewalk to physically see my opponent.

If I suddenly felt compelled to sw for as long as possible, the opponent merely has to perform quick re-alignment movements to negate my sw.
In this case, sw becomes useless.
More on this later (in another guide).

2-3. eStep, bug-sidestep, molester step
Shit! I forgot to re-record this since my last recording disappeared.

2-4. The thing about sidewalk

I already said this but there is almost no use for ss.
As long as my reaction time is fast, I have nothing to gain from sidestep. keke.
If I anticipate the opponent doing a linear and long-recovery move, I could sw and launch him; why would I risk the more vulnerable sidestep?
People normally try ss df+2 and get hit by the opponent’s df+2.
“I evaded that!” =| All I can say is that you didn’t evade anything but FAKED evading; it’s basically the same thing.

I do not recommend ss except in the scenario where the opponent does a string where you can, with certainty, evade with a simple ss.

As for eStep/bug-ss/molester step, it has a startup time and angle that is vulnerable so it’s not recommended.
It gets a better position after the first couple but the evasion is questionable.
Because of the command necessary, eStep/bug-SS/molester step has a worse evasion angle than a simple ss-cancel.

eStep/bug-ss/molester step generally has a better use when you’re trying to get out of wall pressure given some space?

Tekken 6 is 50$ on Amazon (all version it looks like) and 129.99 for the special edition with the wireless stick.

The backdash wobble makes no sense to me. I can only get it to do the sidestep part with d, not d/b. Just crouches or something. And that was just too many Ds and Bs.
