I think everyone outside of Beasley, has more work to do with their secondary characters, so you not doing too great with Ryu shouldn’t bother you very much. After all, for as bad as you say your Ryu is, you beat my Dictator hahah.
I don’t really care what anyone says, I think in order for the majority of the group to get better at ST, we have to play more often. Say what you want about the game, but I believe people would improve by playing more whether it’s practice or sessions. I think for you specifically Julian, I think you should mainly concentrate on Balrog. Use Ryu when you feel you’re comfortable enough with Balrog to try learning Ryu. I find that when I’m usually confused as to what I’m supposed to do, that it’s best to keep things simple. Which is one reason why I’m gonna stop concentrating on Dictator right now for the most part. But I think you’ve got more work to do with Boxer, no offense of course, just my feelings on it. It’s kinda funny how you started picking Ryu and Pablo started picking Balrog, character swap and shit hahah. But yeah, I think you would be served best if you kept it straight Boxer for a while.
It’s easy to think negatively about your game considering what’s been going on, but look at who you lost to last Friday, 3rd and 4th place.
Well Chun Li is like an auto-win against my Balrog, and even though Beasely says that I can just take advantage of Dic having no good reversal, everytime I try to tick throw him I just get thrown anway, so I don’t even bother.
I’m not sure how I could break into top 3 with Balrog anymore. I definitely need to play more often though, which is why you should get a dreamcast stick and come to my house.
I think we all just got a lot better. I don’t play ST outside of our gatherings which have been few and far between. What I have been doing a lot is playing tons of marvel. That game is fucking amazing. Keith will agree, Marvel makes you beast in everything.
I was actually thinking about this a few days ago, about how much you all have improved. It’s very interesting to see how the distribution of top 8 players has shifted since I’ve started to know you guys. It would be interesting to plot the results of each player over time.
Airthrow, I think the reason you might be seeing fewer wins is that your opponents have been improving, not that you have gotten worse.
I believe one half of the white lotus clan is in search of another set of secret scrolls in the neighboring province.
With regards to Axel F “Hardbody” Kelly’s comments, there should be some training sessions soon. Not that he needs the practice landing that backhand, for his pimp hand remains strong. I tremble in fear when that sonic boom of doom gets near. Unfortunately, I may not be able to attend any of them, but it would be a good idea to get the ball rolling again.
I tried setting up a practice session at my house on sobat, but no one replied. Offer still stands.
Pablo, are you going to Portland? I will go if I can drive with somebody and chip in on gas, but I don’t want to drive there again. If I can come with you I am down as a motherfucker. Is this console or arcade?
Yes I will be going, and yes you can come along. I will be taking a van down there, so I can fit around 6 people without too many problems. The drive is only 2 hours, so it will not be a tight fit for too long.
This should be the Super Turbo Top 8 from the October 26th tourney:

I think that’s right - it’s 36 mins of footage, and the tape had 30m used, but Julian’s camera doesn’t have the time set, so I can’t verify 100% via timestamps. But it should be the top 8 plus a couple minutes. Please let me know if I screwed up - the tapes right here.
<3
Also, please please set the time/date on the camera - that really helps me out. <3
And I think you have a tripod, but if you ever want to borrow one, let me know. They’re in the closet off the media room.
That’s why I made the suggestion I made about the Mikado style tourneys/nohoho showdown ish! Read nigga!
About JTM, I think he’s been playing corny ass Tekken lately. Why anyone would abandon ST for a Tekken that’s soon to be obsolete as a newer one is coming out, is beyond me. I’ll put it down for the squad without him. Because a wise man once said,
The only thing bomb about the 10/26 video to me, is when Ondrej did Ken’s super and I blocked it, and as he was coming down behind me, I supered him into upkicks effectively giving me the lead after I was losing by hella. ST is bomb for that.
We should add those tourney types to next ST sessions. We’ll level up I can assure you!
