I guess this thread is much more relevant nowadays. I need to learn these dash cancels. ST tactics only get me so far.

Guess I will post here too.

For the first time in a while, I actually feel like playing someone other than Gief, because people will just turtle the fuck out of me. That shit is boring. So far I like Ryu, Abel, and Balrog. I need a reliable way out of the fireball spam, and I don’t like the green hand in sfiv. I just need a list of bread and butter combos.

I play all slow games the same way. Pick Ryu, j.HK -> c.MK -> Hadouken. Works in CE, ST, 3s, CvS2, and SFIV. I play Ryu the same way in the VS series as well, as some of you would attest. The classic combos work. Don’t sacrifice the fundamentals.

Maybe this is just me, but SFIV is the only disc that is insanely loud in my sexbox.

I thought it made an interesting sound when i first started it up. After playing for hella long i was browsing through some menus and noticed the “Install to Hard Drive” option.

Definitely loads faster now and the disc doesnt spin up. Try it out!

So it turns out, one dedicated employee of SSCC is actually willing to bring his xbox to the game room/lounge. I will be eating SFIV for lunch a good while. Hopefully I can help these people improve a bit. Some are scrubby, and some are on the verge improving a lot. Should be fun.

From what I’ve been reading about it, it’s got frame data and the whole nine yards. Not sure who authored it, but it must be full of fun stuff if its got more pages in it than the SF Anniversary strat guide…and that covered two games.

Oh man it feels good to play more than 1 match per hour. I have to say the console version is super polished with all the anime intros/endings, rivals, challenge mode, etc.
