True, she has some excellent rushdown strings. Once she has you locked down, it’s pretty hard to get her off (alright, that sounds kinda wrong). She also does dizzy people the fastest.
Her ultra kinda sucks IMO…I see it whiff all the time, even from high level players. It’s got some strange properties, and can’t always seem to catch people when they’re jumping in. It also seems to be difficult to combo her ultra, as I’ve seen plenty of high level players whiff her ultra from a combo as well.
Ed ma dropped Viper, and used Zangief in the latest tournament. I’ll practice with Viper once the game comes to console, but I’ll probably suck at using her.
Ed ma? Naw, look up a japanese player that goes by “FZ” on youtube or something. He’s fucking amazing. Paul just showed me a few vids earlier and now I’ve found a new idol.
Wow…
Gen is actually going to be in Street Fighter 4??? He’s freakin awesome! I hope I don’t sound arrogant or anything but man… I’m… actually kinda good with Gen in Alpha 3… I certainly hope they’re going to maintain his “2 styles” concept. I was already surprised that they’re bringing Gouken to Street Fighter 4. I thought they’d never put him in a game because he’s suppose to be dead from after Street Fighter One.
So yeah… I’m very excited for Street Fighter 4 now.
Over a month and a half ago, Capcom’s Chris Kramer spoke about how imported cabs in American arcades were basically tantamount to piracy infringing upon regional import/tariff laws. The words sounded like an attempt to dissuade arcade proprietors from potentially importing a Japanese cabinet. At the time, it seemed like a preemptive strike in favor of securing more buyers for the upcoming U.S. version of the arcade board. Well, it has now been confirmed that there will be no U.S. arcade release of SFIV.
Some say that the limited number of viable American arcades were further diminished in the eyes of Capcom when some started to import Jap cabs. That is to say, there were only a scant few possible sales that Capcom could have made with an American release. And when some of them began to import Jap cabs, it made the work of localization financially untenable; since locations that had already paid a chunk for a Jap cab were highly unlikely to spend even more money (albeit a smaller amount) for an American cab.
Devil’s advocate would claim that there weren’t enough American arcades to warrant a U.S. version of the arcade board to begin with. Whatever the case, start training for EVO '09.
Her ultra kinda sucks? It does sux when I tried her at gameworks against Gene’s Zangief and that shit was bad. I think I will wait till console version comes out.
So I have been playing SFIV all day, and my impression of it is MUCH better now than it was from playing in arcade at evo (beta), Narrows (American sticks, not my thing), and Gameworks…
For one, I agree with brent, maybe it is just me but the game feels slightly faster at home? This could just be because I feel more comfortable with quality sticks in a position I find more comfortable. But I think the speed is very very good, once you get used to some of the weirdness feeling of the controls.
I also have MUCH more fun using the console characters, I never really liked the roster of the arcade cast that much, it seemed very vanilla without any oddball character archetypes in there.
I played Mickey D for a set, and I feel like I learned more in that 45 minutes or so of gaming than any other time I have played the game before. He punishes you for EVERY mistake, so you are constantly thinking. Good shit.
I can’t wait to play Mandel in this game, just because he will pull some goofy TMNT type shit that will only work and be tight because it’s Mandel Scott.
I can’t WAIT for this friday, I don’t think I will do super great but it will be fun and hype regardless… I really would love for the northwest to make a name in this game, it’s fun as fuck. It DOES seem like if you have a substantial lead and the opponent is at a distance, that turtling is the best option, more than other SF games, but maybe that’s just a first impression. I am not saying the game is a turtle game, but sometimes it seems like making the first move would just be…dumb? I have to learn patience for the first time cus in ST, Fatal Fury Special, and KOF 98 (the main games I have any skill at) I only rush, I don’t play calm.
