Finally got it! After playing a TON of MvC3 yesterday and trying lots of different characters I’m changing up my team and dropping someone I swore I was going to stick with lol. Right now I’m putting Hsien-Ko on standby and running with Wesker/Iron Man/Dr.Doom. Hsien-Ko is so odd that I feel like I need to build the team around her, either that, or just be better at the game(probably this).
Spent probably about 8 hours playing the game last night and it’s stupid as hell, but to be honest I am thoroughly enjoying it. From what little knowledge I have of MvC2 I was able to get going with the game fairly quickly other than trying to call out assists with the wrong buttons. After work I’m going to be hitting up training mode to see what I can do with W/I/DD. Feel like I have a lot of stuff to play with. So probably no games until I at least get some solid combos and strategies figured out.
Also, are aerial combos with partners this crappy on purpose? I go to aerial rave, tag my partner in to do more combos, and Glenn just starts mashing buttons and twirling the joystick. His character pops out and combo is ended. Stupid as hell. Anyone found a way to punish this yet? I’m definitely going to be paying attention to it from now on to see if I can punish, or at least give him a reason not to do it. It builds too much meter to not do it because he can get out of it. I want that meter!!!
With Wesker on point, I’ve found that using the TACs are less important than a lot of people think. He builds a shitload of meter off of his basic combos. If he’s on point, I pretty much NEVER use TACs. Wesker is a decent battery alone. Now, don’t take this as me saying NOT to do them, I’m just saying that it’s not AS important if you have him on point.
Agreed with bmckay on TACs. It’s too easy to just mash out of them. By that I mean spinning the stick around and mashing Exchange like an online Zangief haha.
Wesker is too good of a team battery. A basic BnB with him already builds a full meter. The only time I use any meter with Wesker is for his level 3 anyway. Basic BnB into OTG assist & level 3 is easy 800k+ damage.

What I’m thinking right now is against Zoning teams I’ll have Wesker on point since his teleport wil help him get in. Against Rushdown Teams I’m thinking about starting with Ironman on point and just trying to zone them out, since he controls midrange so well, and gradually work them into the corner. Then hopefully combo into Photon Cannon and DHC into Dooms plasma sphere, then go to work with Dooms corner pressure.
We’ll see how my theory fighter plays out in training mode tonight. I hate the fact that I got the game just in time to miss most of my days off and go back to work.
I played against a guy online the other day whose team was Wesker/Sent/Phoenix.
Wesker can use sent drones like zero, but place teleport instead of cmd. dash to mix up and pressure.
Before I had two characters dead he had 5 bars.
I almost beat him with pretty much dormammu alone (caught his lvl 3 xfactored dark phoenix in a flame beam super while he was mashing fireballs).
It ended up coming down to sent mirror in the end and I barely lost. But his team was buff as fuck lol.
So many teams have so many options it constantly makes me want to re-switch characters. But I fucking love dormammu so I’ll probably keep him for good. Might drop sent when people become too good at countering him cause he’s big as fuck and its hard to land a hit (though the metagame of using sent is sooo much fun!)
Considering dropping storm too. She’s so raw since she basically is a free DHC for any character into hailstorm but its hard for me to rush down with her…her normals are too slow out of x-factor so I can’t get in on the rushdown characters well, and they’re too short to compete with many other characters like dante’s sword. Lightning attack is pretty buff, and whirlwind is extremely good for a projectile so all I can really feel like doing is running away. She’s easily my weakest link character. I don’t think she’s bad at all but I’m definitely not able to use her well.
I’ll show you some storm stuff. I don’t think I have anything cool for videos like I wanted to do but I’ve figured out some gross-easy storm loops and spacings for her tri-jumps/overheads.
Yeah, Wesker/Sent/Phoenix IS a buff ass team. That’s actually my team, but that wasn’t my match. I’m looking for other characters that work well with Wesker now, though. Getting tired of Sentinel and how braindead he is.
I’ve been looking at assists fir Weaker’s pickups, but now that I’ve found some stuff, that won’t be necessary. Now it’s all about what characters I can find pretty combos for. So far, Phoenix is my second since I know her the best. I’m thinking I wanna go with Akuma. Gives an unblockable, plus it works well for pickups and Akuma has the hypers that DHC into Wesker or Phoenix.

Zero/Deadpool/Sentinel is alot of fun. I feel it’s a good learning team. Nothing too complucated yet you have to have your combos down.
Setting up deadpools Bolo loop is pretty easy and I can get 4-5 reps before the htstun scaling makes me finish with a launch into H/S/INstant air super. Does good dmg. His lvl 3 xfc infinite is crazy.
I feel like as a new player this game is slowly coming to me. The use of assists and seeing setups comning rather than trying to just block on reaction is nice. Hit confriming into combos and block confirming into setups or safetys is coming along.
Just the concept of a snapback is tight. I’m finally not free to phoenix because I just snap her into play and do a quick 50/50.

I broke the game earlier which makes me want to play the game more… Other then that no interest in this skill less fighter
my magneto vs x-23 (offline), I dash df xx tempest to counter super and nothing comes out but I lost 1 meter… I threw a EM Disruptor and it goes in the opposite direction. I do it a few more times & that shit becomes invisible ( while chipping x-23). All other moves don’t come out AT ALL so I tempest and the game freezes. That’s discusting for this game to do… Hopefully it occurs again

I played Frank last friday and got scrapped so I was wondering if I could get some advice, if he remembers.

I’ve been messing with hsien doom, between hidden missiles, hsien’s f+C and gong/projectiles she can cover the screen with hella shit. It’s dope.
Donate a copy to the get elias this game cause. I’m one of the few who went into the game with the right expectations and I enjoy it. I enjoy this silly shit. XD
Since SamBizzle posted. I thought I would reply. We had a lengthy discussion last night about how much we both hate this game and about how we felt that Super is much better O_O.
As for me not coming in with the right expectations, get off the boo boo. I only expected to have fun playing this game. And I haven’t done that since before the game was officially launched. I played three sets yesterday and all of them were infuriating, and I won all three of them! :wow:
It has promise and I feel that the game pre XFC is good, but with xfactor being the way it is, it’s stupid. Call me, text me, when you wanna play something that isn’t goofy.
