Execution is execution. Any idiot with enough time can do combos. If you spend ____ hours doing a certain combo you will be able to do it. These games are much more than that.
Put money where your mouth is. If you put up enough $$$$ I’ll do any combo you can do that you think I can’t. It just has to be worth my time.

This is… Marvel meets Blazblue. Niggas playing DDR. For the time being, no skill required, just a shitload of memorization. The longer the combo, the “better” you are (perceived to be). I remember one of my last matches online last night. I made ONE mistake and ate 2Million+. How do I know? I found that combo on day one. I got hit by one of my own favorite combos.
That said, I think I’ve had at least 5 OCVs with Wesker’s Gun.
Wow you guys are going crazy in here. I’ll just break it down like this. The most fun that I’ve had playing this game is with people that have a marvel mindset to the game. The least amount of fun I’ve had playing this game (so far) is with people that have a Street Fighter IV mindset. I think what is really bothering a lot of old school players is the fact that to win they have to literally dumb down their game. I see a lot of potential to have some raw ass shit in this game, the only problem is it’s overshadowed by a giant ass robot with a huge red aura around him.
In regards to the noob factor, how long does this really have to go on? It’s going to be interesting to see what happens at final round next month.
Also Perfect Ledgend’s magnus is kinda ridiculous. I somehow got transported into a room with him.
Megneto is pretty raw in this game. Not as good as marvel2 but he can get some good shit cookin in this game for sure.
I hereby deem X-23’s lvl 3 to be the most useful lvl 3 in the game (that I’ve seen so far).
Sentinel is pretty bad, but there is definitely good ways to fight him! Remember he is the biggest character and very slow when not dashing. Even a good sentinel will crack under the right pressure.
Mvc2 Sent was a really fast (yet still large) character that required a very high level of execution to play properly. I think a lot of people who were looking forward to him are kinda bummed that he pretty much got turned into a scrub-friendly deathmachine.
Yes I still play sent in this game. Until I can no longer get victory with him I will probably keep playing him, too. At the very least it’ll be good for people to have exposure to the character. But for me I’ll take any win I get.
I’ll probably keep sticking to my team since it seems powerful right now. But I might make a second team thats rushdown just for fun and to have a second playstyle other than hit-n-run.
Damage in this game is rediculous. Chip Damage especially.

I think the people on Ps3 are pretty bad, I had a stupid win-streak and I’m super new to Vs fighting games. I’m having fun though, a lot of posts are correct about being able to do cool looking combos pretty easily. This post has no girth.
Hahaha, talk about this game is pretty funny. This game is absolutely terrible, even at a competitive edge. Regarding the whole “old school marvel = marvel 3 sucks” and “new school player = marvel 3 is good”…I just think it’s all funny. Hit decay literally spells out to the player “don’t be innovative during your combo’s…because you’ll uncombo them.” What’s the reason I shouldn’t do Dante’s easy bnb combo compared to some crazy combo i’ve been cooking up in training room? “OH you got dat FLASH mickey!” What a stupid feature…reminds me of tripping in smash brawl. Bottom line, is the fact that you’ll die once you get hit period (extra easy with proper DHC’s).
This game is garbage. No thinking at all, dial a combo and kill a character, and that’s why a lot of players are upset…as well as why this game is definitely bad imo. Fun to learn for the first month, but afterwards…trust me in 3 months there will be absolutely no reason for me to play this game unless you want to be the best.
tl;dr…it’s a fun game, but yeah it sucks (looking PAST sentinel…if anyone thinks the reason why sent is the reason this game is bad, is definitely an idiot when it comes to fighting games, sooooo many other things to blame).
Oh and I’d love to hear about the “raw ass shit in this game” Frank is referring to. Combo’s are minute when it comes to actually winning…seems to me that everyone’s lost track of that.

Hyper grab tempest is easy enough to do. How many reps would I have to do? Or would it be to just kill an avg life char? Do I have set it up with psylocke assist into d.short-d.HK->SJ into it or a throw? ROM infinite might be worth the $100. Now I just need to watch someone do it in person. HeavyD I have a request.
This game is fun. Wasn’t the one combo char kill in MvC2 as well? I can understand the hate about everyone’s dial a combo into OTG super->DHC death problem but to me it’s almost no different from slowly being infinited to death. I see this game being just that a fun game but when it comes to competative play I think I’ll stick to SF4. This doesn’t mean I’ve given up of MvC3 it just means it won’t be my primary focus.
Even if everyone does die when they get hit once, though I don’t know any combo anyone that I play can do besides maybe dormammu with full charges that will kill a character for 1 meter (I play Wesker, Thor Dormammu) The hard part and what I think the focus of the game should be is getting that one hit solid hit that will kill or put you in a position where there death is certain.
Im not saying this game doesn’t have some scrub friendly stuff. Plenty of supers are really hard to punish unless you are specific characters, and plenty of ways to chip people are really safe. But its still not entirely mindless in my opinion (which of course take with a grain of salt Ive probably played for much less total time then anyone here)
Here are some things I think are pretty cool in this game
Wesker combos into df+h mixups (ie jump throw which is really fun and nets you a new combo, or wave dash under super for cross up bounce off the walls super which is really humerous, or wave dash under call assist (dark hole!) c teleport for plenty of direction switch shenanigans)
Wesker + Dark hole shennanigans - especially j.df+h + dark hole either straight down teleport into low, or cross up teleport into overhead or if they are catching on and switch blocking that correctly, do the backwards teleport just to be mean.
Thor Air combo to delay falling S so you can combo into fully charged mighty smash! I think its nifty application of all the hitstun on j.H
Thor Airdash df+l, cr.l,cr.h (kara into grab) - I haven’t started applying this yet, but once you get them looking to block and push block your cr.l I think this is a nice mixup to get going.
Dormmamu - I just like trying to do combos with jump canceled launchers into lvl 3 liberation, looks hella tight to me. Also the redic cross up on square dash j.c is cool.
Also fighting Sentinel with Dormammu is fun and scary especially when everyones got that xfactor up and you are on your last character!
Of course I also see things that are wrong with the game but hopefully as the game progresses these things can be worked out. For now I have fun and I think the people I play have fun as well.
Anyway these are just my opinions, I think people who say they don’t like the game are right to criticize what they see as being wrong. Time will tell whether the game gets picked up or forgotten or just patched to something better!

That’s me, anyway. The real reason I want to play MvC3 is: So I can be a part of the fighting games community again, maybe. I don’t see myself getting into SF4, so yeah.

EDIT: So day 2, here. Been using Chun on point, and messing around with a few characters. I like the missions, just because it’s guaranteed that one of them is going to show you which move you need to use for your OTG combos. Nice to have a heads up, there.
But is online play, like, really laggy? It seems awfully bad for me. Way worse than other fighters.
gg’s, I could still feel a little bit of lag when I was trying to react block certain stuff but yeah that was pretty much the best connection I’ve had so far (although I really haven’t played the game that much online).
Regardless of how anyone feels about whether the game is good or not, there is no denying that Capcom fucked up with the online, bad. Even if they patch the lobby spectating, and all the connection errors… not being able to see a person’s connection in ranked matches is unacceptable. When is Capcom going to get their head out of their ass and realize that there are people OUTSIDE Japan that might want to play the game online? GGPO has been around since 2007, it’s been three and a half years and we’ve still got this fucking disgusting major input delay netcode. There is no fucking excuse for that.
