I only play OP champs, because my time is money. Currently enjoying Singed.
I’m basically giving up on playing as “ranged carry,” but that’s OK because a team is never short on those.
Still want to pick up Vlad and Shen at some point. Kind of sad I didn’t get on the Shen train earlier - guy hasn’t seen a buff in forever, and he still gets banned. Or maybe Urgot…

It would cost Riot a multiple of this to get people to do their rating on Mechanical Turk. Compensation on this scale is insulting.
I’m sure when you’re in college or whatever, you see the value of your time with a really different perspective. But you just have to believe me. This makes me angry at Riot, and sad for the players who would opt in, even after hearing what this bargain consists of. There’s just no way that I can justify it.
**There has to be something you can do with 21 hours of your time that is worth more to you than $7 worth of IP. **Seriously. You could watch two seasons of a TV show. You could watch 10 movies. You could read at least two books. Hell, you could raise your GPA, or just get some fucking sleep.
You can say that about LOL itself, but I assume if you’re playing LOL you do it because it’s fun. But reading the chat logs of assholes is just not something I can defend in the same way.
The game itself doesn’t give you that much IP though. A 20 minute game gives you around 53 or so IP for a loss, 80 or so IP for a win. Throw in another 2-4 minutes for queue, champ selection, and loading.
By doing the tribunal, you’re helping yourself ever so slightly by removing all the trolls/griefers/feeders from your own games as well.
Also, the tribunal not being in the client means that you can gain some IP during times when you possible couldn’t in the first place, such as at work, or any location where gaming ports are blocked.
Yeah but it’s not fun. And the amount of time you spend for the reward is completely unjustifiable, if you ask me.
I mean if all you want to do is get IP… you should probably just cough up $20. And buy stuff when it’s on sale.
I hate to say it, believe me. But 3 hours for $1 is unforgivable.
I like that the tribunal exists. I want griefers to get warned/punished/banned. I just think that either they should go ahead and be professional enough to deal with it themselves (which means paying somebody minimum wage to go through this stuff), or they should show a little more consideration for our time.
Don’t mean to be too abrasive, Chris. I just feel like the tribunal is more like work than play.
BUT ANYWAY so I guess there’s some LOL tournament going on? The Season One Championship Qualifiers finished. I decided to make a little spreadsheet and graph to see who gets picked/banned the most often. This is so that I can make sure I’m concentrating my efforts on the most OP and broken characters.
Anyway, the big winners were: Twisted Fate, Vlad, and Vayne, each with a combined total of 19 picks and bans out of 19 matches played. Corki is the ‘Cable’ of LOL’s big 4, with 18. Taric and Amumu got 16 each.
Anyway go check out the spreadsheet and see who the most visible champions are at the top level. Arguably.
I thought it was hilarious that Zil was banned 12 times, picked 0.
I know, right? I was surprised by a lot of the champions as well.
Of course, even though it looks like a lot of data points, the truth is that only a small number of teams and players are represented. So I think it could be just, like, maybe some guy is good with Soraka. And maybe nobody’s really good with Urgot. But I don’t know.
All I know is that I saw that and I was like, these guys seem to be pretty convinced that TF is bullshit. Maybe I should get on the TF train.
I don’t know. When I think about DOTA and LOL, and kind of break down the experience… it’s hard to justify playing them. But I guess as long as I can have fun and can find friends to play with, it’ll be okay, maybe. But I kind of think that there’s going to come a day when I just get fed up and never play again.
Yeah I regularly rage-uninstall this game. It’s so ungratifying, and everyone is such an asshole. I cannot recommend anyone start playing this. It’s really not worth the time investment.
I just played one match for the first time in like 4 days and I already want to uninstall again. Even my ‘friend’ I invited was a dick to me. Sad face. I get the team 3 dragons including one I stole from trynd AND KILLED HIM DOING SO, I make sure all three fucking lanes are clear of minions at all times because no one else is, and I do this with fair warning. “Clearing top, don’t fight.” And so they engage 4v5, get us aced, and blame me for not being there. Always someone to fucking blame. “Quit being stupid gragas” says the guy I invited to play with me. The one regularly turret diving several people with pantheon to go for greedy kills. But yes, me, the one warding dragon, warding their jungle, stealing dragon, killing their jungler, warding the river AND keeping lanes pushed BY MY FUCKING SELF is the one being stupid. Good lord. Diaf, lol community. Die in a fucking fire.
Mech, just gotta play with the right group. If you don’t mind my friends being new to the game, you’re always welcome to play with me. We get skype going, and just have a good time. :tup: suicidalgrandpa is the in-game.
See, I have an issue with premades too in that I like to play champs who are fun, rather than just good. Then I lose to tryhard aoe team comps or teams with like 4 global ults and 3 teleports and it just pisses me off. Hahaha. I’m airdash in game if you wanna add me. I don’t have skype though, I’m a vent guy. I aspire to quit and never play this game again though.
