Roll Cancelling!
So Here’s a couple notes on RC’ing (since Kenny just brought that up)
What an RC is: In this game roll cancelling (RC) is a glitch where a person’s roll is cancelled by doing a special move (like a hadouken, psycho crusher, etc’) or super. By rolling then doing the motion fast enough, you cancel you’re roll into you’re special move…by doing THIS, you’re special move will now have the properties of rolling (can go through things). So why is this good? In it’s most simple terms, you’re literally invincible whenever you do a special move. All special moves have as much invincibility as a dragon punch does. However, keep in mind that doing an RC only last for the **BEGINNING **of the special move (IIRC 23 frames of it (the frame duration of a roll)).
How to beat RC’s: Beating RC’s is pretty difficult to do. Something you have to remember is that an RC is not invincible during it’s entire move. The special is invincible until the character’s roll is completed…which if i remember correctly is 23 frames. Therefore, you must start developing strategies of how to beat RC’s. For example, hitting them after their invincibility is over. But in it’s simplest of explanations, roll is beaten by a person throwing. Here’s an example:
Blanka knocks me down, goes towards my body and does an RC electricity. I wake up INTO the invincibility. There is no way for me to beat it with my Dragon punch because i will go through him because of the roll attribute. I can’t wait until his invincibility is done because I will wake up immediately…So therefore throwing would be my best option. Because rolls can be thrown out of, this is the only way to beat this RC.
How to RC: RC’ing takes much practice, but after you get used to it, it’s VERY useful. What you need to do, is cancel you’re roll in 3 frames while you do you’re special. It’s best to show it through example.
Fuck C groove and fuck a roll cancel. Play K.
Nigga i wanna come over and play and learn this RC’ing
I said fuck a roll cancel! :shake:
Awesome Mickey. Thanks. I was trying to roll cancel electricty and getting my ass kicked just slamming the shit out of the punch buttons.
Maybe I’ll start with roll canceling Bison’s charge moves, because I do pretty well with him.
If you give me like 1 hour, I can guarantee you that I can get you Roll Canceling.
When I started roll canceling, here’s what I did. First I learned RC Taunts, to get the timing down. It’s literally right after the roll…like a kara cancel in 3s. Afterwards, I started doing rc sonic booms/Psychocrusher’s. Then hadouken’s, then half circle’s like Kikoken’s.
Brent, real quick, Guile’s pretty good in this game…i know how much you like him!
I’m gonna be setting up this friday…anyone down?
Preppy’s is this Friday. If you mean setting up a tourney at Preppy’s I am down. I won’t get there till after 11:30 or something though.
I have been playing random people at Tilt and having lots of fun.
Bison is pretty much my main, and then I throw in whoever else I need to counter the other team.
Fuck a CvS2 play KOF98UM~
Hahahah! This guy!!!
Akuma RC lk hurricane as AAA, then activate and CC.
Eagle RC rush through fireballs
Eagle activate, RC hk rush through fireball for first hit, and continue CC
Kyo RC lift kicks through fireballs and ish… combo and activate then CC
Gief RC running bear grab as AAA (just because it’s baller)
Akuma RC hp red fireball as opponent wakes up in the corner, if they tried anything they eat it, lp dp, lp dp, activate, VC
Rolento RC scouter jump just so you can jump through their face!
… That’s the only RC stuff I ever use, really… I mainly play A and P with a little C here and there.
Then again, I don’t think I’ve played this game in somewhere around 3 years (except for one match against Rat at Zach’s IIRC).
Oh… also (as I looked up and saw RC electricity)… you can use this as AAA (or anti-wakeup)… if they block on wakeup you get a good amount of safe chip (if mashing) if you hit just one hit and activate you can CC off of it.
So as AAA you can be holding down and hit lp,mp,hp,lp+lk,hp … the roll counts as a punch input and the 5th punch (hp) brings out the electricity. So if you spot a jump-in you whiff the crouching jab and then they land on 1 hit of RC electricity… activate and CC…
Still overseas, Curtis?
Yea… I’m still in Japan right now. I’ll be back in WA August 3rd, but I’m moving to Korea August 16th. That means the only weekend I’m back in the states is EVO weekend… demn. =x
If anyone’s still gonna be around WA for some games, let me know.
As I’m gonna be in Korea and a mere 20 minutes from Green Arcade (MaddogJin et al), I’m sure Tekken will shoot back up to being my main game again. Too bad the US doesn’t have T6… wtf?
I’ve been itching to play marvel (and for some reason… SFA3).
Cvs2 had some a very nice rotation last night, I was VERY happy. Thanks Nate, Brent, Jamie, Paul, Mandel, Pablo…everyone that was in the rotation…i had a lot of fun, and hope that cvs2 stays this popular…
anyone got any questions at all? I’m kinda bored and would love to help out by answering questions and stuff
I think that if you set it up, we will eventually end up in the rotation. While I may never be fully committed to the game, I do enjoy scrubbing it up with my horrible teams. This game is tough, I actually needed a cheat sheet with me at PNW majors.
I used to hate CvS2 with a passion. I sometimes have fun with it now though.
K-groove Ryu FTW!
I think more people would enjoy CvS2 if they picked K Groove and just mashed.
