We need more CvS2 players in Seattle

Okay! couple of questions Stu.

1.) Okk?

2.) Dave…have you guys heard from him.

  1. Ask Drew…it’s his old “team” I guess you could call it…thought I could revamp it alittle since I’ll be living there and all and you know how much I care about the fighting game scene where ever I’m living.

and 2) From what Drew has told me Dave has a daughter(?) and works at some watch company making pretty decent green.

So I can finally rc electricity kinda decently now guys…however my right hand feels like it’s gonna fall off any second now. =/

This post is a month old, but I just got around to reading it with Mandel’s most recent bump. Anyways, the OKK had nothing to do with fighters, really. It was just a group of guys who all got together and got ridiculously drunk every day of my Junior and Senior years of High School.

In regards to 2, I dunno about that guy. I have no phone number to contact Dave with, so soon enough I’ll have to head on down to Tilt and pray that he still works there someplace.

Thought it’d be funny to quote these posts. Anyway, thought I’d bump this thread up since it appears we’ll be having CvS2 tourneys again. I kinda started practicing the game again for that very reason. It’s unsettling that I play CvS2 more than I play ST.

Oh yeah EDIT-Here’s a recent video, John Choi vs Ricky Ortiz. C Ken/Cammy/Sagat vs A Vega/Sakura/Blanka and K Sagat/Cammy/Blanka

Thanks for bringing those quotes back man! Mandel you up to practicing!?

wow… I didn’t realize there is a thread for this…lol so who still play cvs2 here?

I didn’t either, or that Mandel (wut?) created it.

I’ll start practicing if we’re really gonna do this. It would be nice to play a game that I can at least get past the first round in other than Smash.

Straight up, right now, class is in session. If you guys want to play, lets get some real talk going on

My question about CVS2 is “What team is most fun to play?”

In Marvel, the best characters/teams are also the most fun to play, but that is because they are crazy fast and complicated. Is that the case in CVS2, or do most of the characters play the same, and some have some abusable stuff?

Hard to say, it really comes down to what you like groove wise and what characters you like. Naturally C Chun is different from N Chun due to groove differences. In CvS2, you can see a lot of character variety due to personal preference and which grooves said character is viable in. Certain grooves bring out the best in certain characters (P Kyo, K Geese, C Sagat, A Blanka, etc.). Not to say that they aren’t useable in other grooves, but yeah. Exercise creativity! A lot of characters have abuseable stuff though.

I would suggest watching some tournament matches of good players using different grooves and try to understand why certain grooves are good/bad. Just to get a feel for the game.

Im stuck in hard place…

I love C but I love K …

Help.

play both~

Dammit, I forgot to call Brian about the CvS2 board. puts note on his calendar

thanks for bumping this thread to remind me.

I was just at Tilt and dropped 3 dollars into the CVS2 machine. I got rocked by some random guy playing a so-so team. I just don’t understand the damage in that game. Ratio’s make it weird.

Anyway, I am down for learning hardcore CVS2 at the next opportunity.

Funny you should mention that Brent. The other day I was there to see Hancock and I ran into John Mooring (lots of old school Seattle peeps would remember him). Anyway he used some gross shit like C King/Chang/Eagle and got rocked lol.

uh that team is leavin a foul taste in my mouth.

C Ryu/Blanka/Sagat - Team Friend
C Blanka/Rolento/Sagat - Team Savage
C Mai/Ken/Bison - Team R Place

I wasted many hours playing this game over xbl…

Preppy- your new avatar is hilarious. I think I might have had that cassette.
