guhhhh. I seriously need to find someone else to main that is not Noel. I’m getting really tired to beating down people to a pixel of their life and then dying from half a life bar. (Especially with Hakumen I swear you can just turbo D…)
Throw breaking on reaction certainly seems doable, but it seems like it’d put a lot of stress on a person to do it repeatedly throughout an entire match. Throwing through blockstun or during a combo seems to just be a good way to make sure the other person is paying attention.
A lot of Blazblue seems to be geared toward that. Making sure you’re still paying attention even though you’re getting comboed, what with the insane time you have to tech after you hit the ground to screw with okizeme games.

Nasty semis/finals at Evo for this game killed it. That and all the character chatter while they fought made my head hurt.
The funny part is that I never said “cute”. I just said I play only girls as a joke to Ski suggesting I use fuerte. I play a number of male characters, but that’s neither here nor there I guess…
But if I singlehandedly fucked the US blazblue community, that would be pretty funny, and I didn’t know I held that kind of power. The best is that I don’t play in the US anyways, so it doesn’t even really have any effect on me…

Ray - Pretty much, at Evo, on the big screen, our team won the finals, so I went and did the interview. I said that I like to rush down, and that’s why I can’t play SFIV. Ski then said “Thats why you gotta play fuerte” and i was like “Sorry, I only use girl characters” as a “oh, haha, good excuse” type thing, but everyone watching apparantly was like “WHAT A GAY HOMO OTAKU ***” and shit like that, and saying that because of saying things like that, i “set the community behind 3 months” (whatever the fuck that means).
I’m not denying that I’m a nerd, but it’s a pretty petty reason for people to go “oh god, the blazblue scene is gonna die now”
People also apparantly got offended when I said the US scene lacks a lot of high level players of all the various characters. They took that to mean that I said the US has no competition, when really I meant that there’s only a couple guys who are “high level” for each character (if that) because the community started out so small, but with console, now that a lot of people are playing, the player base greatly increased, so the US can become really good in no time. Again, people trying to find excuses for getting angry.

Hey HeartNana, how much money did you win at EVO from the BB tournaments? Just wondering.
BB/GG scene isn’t dead in WA. There’s like 3 groups that meet consistently, one in Federal Way, one at Digipen, and one in Seattle/Bellevue or something like that. Still have yet to make it to one :wonder: More info here if you’re interested.
I got $651 for singles and about $150 for teams.

That was a crazy finals and pretty much the last thing I expected to see. I don’t think the finals hurt the blazblue community at all. If ANYTHING was going to hurt the community, it would have been some V-13 full screen lockdown and runaway shit for 50 seconds with the occasional 50% combo. Noel rushing down was pretty tight. Congrats on winning.
So umm, should I get this game? Are people still playing it after Evo?
