We Need More BlazBALOO Players In Seattle

his dash, fake dash and screen wrap dash should help against projectiles?

Why are you guys even playing this? Evo games son.

well said pablo!

shawn im sorry but i will shit on your face in some tekken im sooooooooo serious lol oh fuck i just drooled but if you can suppress the hate enough to play tekken then i will play this game

the change of pace from SFIV dawg, you don’t have to do the third strike wiggle

which doesn’t affect your SFIV play because it’s so different :lovin:

hey pablo theres two tounaments for this shit at evo. I might enter for cheese cause some beasts are gonna be there and I enjoy mashing some shit out on fools.

Arakune’s teleports and dashes are all unsafe, if my opponent reacts fast enough its free combo…fucking nu. I’m looking into some shit to help my matchup though.

I was messing around today in blazblue and trying out some other characters. I think ragna is pretty fun, I swear if you just press buttons combos will come out hahaha. Feels very momentum based for a character, but I think he’s good.

I want to make my second Litchi now, I think. I like the way she plays, but it seems like it’ll take a LOT of time to learn her combos, mixups, and situational stuff. Like… the situational stuff is ridiculous. Staff takes too long to come back =(

Feel free to hit me up for matches. Using Bang and Litchi.

Yeah, I felt that too. Then I looked at the damage and was like, “oh…”

I’ve played a lot of BB and I still can’t put down the stick. I’m really loving the rushdown most characters use, and the multitasking characters are a lot of fun, too (Rachel, Litchi). Too bad thows are so terrible. That needs to get fixed in the next version =/

So… What characters are people sticking to/switching to for their mains now that we’ve got a bit of time with it? What kind of interest is there in BB still? Has Evo killed it with SFIV hype? I’m curious to see who’s still interested in this game, cause I’m definitely interested in running more tournaments, especially if we get 30+ entrants like last time!

i’m definitely putting focus into this game…once i get it >_> i’ve been hunting it down for weeks but everywhere is out of stock until the 28th :expressionless:
i’ll probably stick with ragna once i grab it but hakumen also looks badass. i’ll definitely enter any BB tournaments at zach’s or wherever you decide to run them, although because i’m leaving for school that’s basically the 7th, one on the 21st depending how he decides, and NWM. :expressionless:

no offense to heartnana since i’ve seen him around for a long time and he’s a great player at the games he does play (including like that naruto fighting game for the gamecube haha) but it seems general opinion his interview directly after winning really killed a lot of BB hype and respect. :frowning:

Which interview are you talking about? Ill still play this game but it will be a bit of time before I get any good at it because its a secondary game to sf4 still. Arakune and Tager are who I will be playing.

Daigo Umehara vs Justin Wong killed Blazblue.

The truth. =/

I’m interested in the interview though.

What’s with everybody complaining about how ‘bad’ throws are. Just because a game isn’t throw-heavy doesn’t make throws bad. They’re not supposed to be easy to land when you get 50% damage off of them…

Throws suck? I think this match of Mike Z vs. HeartNana should prove otherwise…sure, you don’t mash LP+LK every six seconds like in 3S/4, but that hardly makes them bad.

the interview with heartnana after he won, he’s a great player but he’s a hella nerdy dude and one of the things he said was how he only plays cute female chars…now that’s good and all but there are a lot of reasons to keep that to yourself lol…meanwhile everyone chatting (and blazblue was getting enough irrational hate already and had shown, what, 3 matches) was like wow this kid is a loser probably doesnt get any girls etc etc etc.

everything in its entirety definitely didn’t put the blazblue scene and game into a good light…i wish i could link/find it but a lot of videos were taken off youtube cause ign just released their videos

and throws are a little different in this game, you can throw during block/hit stun (but they get like 30 frames to escape its a lot) to extend a combo, also the damage from it isn’t prorated so its always the full 500 damage or whatever it happens to be. also everyone gets combos after throw! fun stuff

I can identify with heartnana playing only cute female characters. Although I probably wouldn’t say it like that. For some reason all the cutesy types are in general the same kind of character. They’re for the most part a beatdown kind of character with controlled button mashing.

Oh, I remember that… Oh well. That probably hurt the community a bit, but as long as people see the game for what it is (and didn’t watch that particular part of the live stream), then it should be fine.

Everyone getting combos after throw, though? Only if you have meter. Most characters need to special cancel their throws or do it backwards toward the corner (seems most backthrows are faster).

Throws are amazing in this game. Sirlin is smoking crack if he thinks they should be zero frame with smaller tech windows. I throw mid combo means game over.

Also, this:

lmao

Wow… I can’t thank you enough for linking that video. Too good

Throw mid-combo is hella easy to break. Other than that however, I agree for the most part. Maybe online makes it broken, I wouldn’t know =/ I think the startup shouldn’t be more than 1-2 frames for a throw, though, and I would want throw whiffs to be longer, but that would kill Noel’s damage
