"We must get back through the portal and CLOSE IT!" Doctor Strange Team Thread

How can you do the extension on her combos with Strange’s bolts? Call bolts, Seismo-TKBurningKick?

Yup. And midscreen, there’s different stuff you can go for if they’re crouching or not. Crouching, cr.M, st.H (call Strange) xx M TK~S, cr.M, xx H TK~S (second Bolt hits), st.M, st.H, blah blah. Standing, just wavedash up and go into seismo box dash stuff.

Cool.

I’m getting the pleasure of playing Wesker (note: I actually like to play him since he is an awesome villain in RE. I refuse to go ABC or XFC3 Wesker, I love to run him on point and actually using his specials, counters and grabs, so dont judge me) again with Wesker/Strange/Ammy. Amaterasu can replace Haggar in a sense on what I call the ‘Viscant system of playing Wesker’, the crazy thousand reset options, and also provides a great assist for Strange himself. For now I’m split on which horizontal assist to use with Wesker/Strange, mostly between Doom (now with Plasma Beam), Ammy and Iron Man. I know he sucks, but dude Tony Stark is sooooo siiick. I wanna try and get bodied to the point I start to hate him for making me lose.

Ammy for sure. Her utility to both characters is indispensable. Wesker’s pressure gets really crazy with a lockdown assist too because you don’t know when he’s gonna go for the command grab when you’re locked down. Tony Stark is indeed badass, I’ve always respected people who play him simply because he’s one of the hardest characters in the game to use, with his confirms the one thing that made me go insane the short time he was on my Strange team lol.

I asked serpentaurus if he could do but he didnt see I think…

video or text with all Strange/Ammy mixups?

You want Strange x Ammy mixups? try out the ultimate mixup:

THC, XFC, teleport, teleport, teleport, teleport, etc, grace M, start infinite combo.

Who are Doctor Strange’s best assists?

His best assists would be the bolts and the eye of agamotto. The best assists for him are probably the ones with horizontal control, projectiles that dont cause a soft knockdown or the zoning ones like Doom’s missiles.

Meanwhile: I pulled a Wentinel (switching Mags for Strange) and it is godlike. Doubling the mixups for Dorm and Wesker, not to say giving Wesker an extra option to command grab between the bolts?! Holy god yes. Also, during the matches, I tried TACing into Strange or doing a DHC to bring him forth so I could abuse the THC with Dormammu and such. It looked SCARY.

Hey guys, I’m brand new to the doctor, but I am thinking of adding him to my modok team. My question is, which assist would work best for strange in the second spot? My team will be modok(barrier)/strange(eye)/X so any input on who would best ft that role? Missle? Vajra?beam? I have been running ironman/arthur/doom in the last spot with mixed results so far. My strange is horrible so that doesn’t help, lol.

I would use Bolts since MODOK can make barriers on his own, man…

Bolts are good, but I like the eye for neutral. Modok has barrier, but its not always as simple as throwing up a shield and going.

I’ve had enough of thinking about an original team. I decided to just get something that works and try to improve it.

So, from now on, I’m going Tenbosu-reloaded: Strange/Doom/Akuma.

I’d love to use Iron Man, I sincerely would, but unfortunately either he sucks or I lack the skill/patience to make him work, or even both. Needless to say that I think missiles are ridiculously good with Strange for flame-loop setups or EoA/Swords zoning. Also, TAC combos to ToD high-health characters and build meter (my current BnB with Strange/Doom doing a TAC gets three meters, and kills everyone but thor with one, so it’s really worth it). Since Doom is easier and better than Iron Man, that was a substitution.

As of Akuma, Vergil was way better in probably every aspect; I wanted to use Ammy really bad after talking to Serpentaurus about her, but both of them lost on that one factor that my team needed the most: a great GTFO assist. Testing this team against rushdown and typical point-chars (Wolverine, Viper, Spencer) Vergil seemed too fragile, and Ammy could only help against grounded characters being vulnerable to divekicks or tri-dashing offense, these were also making Strange pay the price. Using the tatsu gives me an assist with a load of priority, great mixups (any tatsu confirm will already lead into the jump loop into whatever next) and the possibility to make Doom’s assist go from his beam to the missiles.

Anyways, it has been working RIDICULOUSLY good. I’ll try to get some matches online recorded with that team until the end of the week, and offline ones as soon as I can. It is ironic that Morrigan’s team-build suits Strange - who is alongside Dormammu one of her kryptonites - the best.

So the team is basically the best Morrigan team adapted to Strange :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, theoretically.

Difference is that I refuse to play that much of a lame game.
I’ll just zone people until I can get them to make a mistake or a teleport mixup to work.

Hearing the words “Soul” and “Fist” make me nautious. So it’s fair to say I hate to be lame.

After playing blazblue for a while I decided to get back into marvel. I’m running Strange/Hawkeye/Ammy with bolt/greyhound/coldstar. What do you guys think about this team? and what things should I try to practice?

still like hulk/strange/sent

This team is really cool, but I think it could be interesting to switch hawkeye’s assist for the scattershot, allowing you to have a measure against superjump-based characters, and also to help Strange on his biggest weakness, which is his anti-air game. Other than that, go for flame-loops (Ammy’s assist can set them up, and as of recently, Strange can set them up all alone)

Ah, I like greyhound for teleport mixups but I suppose that also works because I’ve noticed my like of dealing with super jumpers. I’m gonna have to buckle down and learn flame loops now. I don’t quite know how it works

Iti s basically a theoretical infinite, since no matter how long the combo is, the hitstun from both the palm and the raw flame wont deteriorate. However, to keep it going you need to launch the opponents, and the launcher will however scale. Therefore, you are limited by the HSD in your launcher. As long as you have time (in other words, do it as fast as you can) you can keep looping palms and flames.

EDIT: Maziodyne has made several variations and tutorials on the flame-loop, so if you want check his YT channel out. If even I could learn it, I have no doubt that anyone also can

I was practicing it earlier and I was getting the hang of it, however my speed is lacking and I forget what to do afterwards lol. I saw somewhere about cold star going into the loop, do you know how to initiate it through that move? I can’t seem to get it…
