Hmm I’ll try when I get home, if there’s a way to do it then it’s only using the same thing you do after Dormammu’s chaotic Flame. Check my YouTube channel for the Dormammu DHC to lightning loop to see what I’m talking about. YouTube.com/darkhadoux
it’s possible to SJ up and hit them with j.S or Sentsuizan (hard knockdown) post-Faltine loop into SoV. j.S works but the clone messes up Sentsuizan like the Marn loop which doesn’t work anymore. don’t know if you’ll have enough time to SJ up then Raikousen H, but you’re the better Zero player so just let me know if it works. I have a good feeling about Zero/Strange so it’ll be good to know if I can do that. I can get 980k+ off a Hadangeki assist mixup midscreen (great assist for Strange btw, comes out as fast as Triple Arrow and doesn’t scale much since it’s 1 hit) and Faltine loop into Rekkoha already does more than 1.15m without prior damage scaling if I’m not mistaken, but in case I need more damage it’s good that the option is always available when I absolutely need to kill a character.
Ok just got home and tried it, you can indeed just do SoV DHC to Sougenmu sj. H Raikousen, float down late lv3. Buster, L Raikousen, TK L Raikousen, Buster, TK L Raikousen pretty easy, just gotta work on making sure you don’t SJ forward cos then you’ll cross up with the H Raikousen.
The “Marn” Loop (D-Loop) still works in this game, it just wont work after all that HSD from FoF loop or any combo that’s more than magic series launch.
I can’t be bothered recording the vid because, like I said, it’s straight forward and similar to the Dormammu one, just that you have to SJ then H Raikousen (got all the time in the world).
great, so that means I can transition from one of the most powerful loops in the game to the other while building the meter upkeep for it with Strange.
How does strange(bolts)/mags(disruptor)/dorm(liberation) sound does strange benefit from these two at all. I definetly want to use this team but what assists should i use. I kno using liberation isnt the best due to having to power up before each use but it does do a good job of locking opponents down with the right power up. Would dark hole be a better choice?
This definitely is a workable team. Only two things I’d change would be: Dormammu on Dark Pillar (Liberation takes too much setup, Strange has some combos with Dark Pillar (see Ryan Hunter’s matches on OptionSelect)) and I’d put Magneto last so your team order is Strange/Dorm/Magneto (teleport mixups with the Disruptor).
Dorm/Strange/Magneto is also an acceptable team order if you prefer to play Strange 2nd. Chaotic Flame makes it easy to punish assist calls so you can DHC into SoV, then kill with XF if needed.
Liberation I think is a pretty good option actually. the benefits you get out of ending a combo with a THC (Liberation gets you Stalking Flare instead of Chaotic Flame) are really good for Strange. you can get a lot of time to set-up Graces even after a long combo. Strange can do a lot with 1D2C as well, very deadly assist that will almost always lead to a dead character.
Well, I’ve never really posted anything on SRK before, but I guess what better time to start then now.
Who do you guys feel would go really good with strange, but can also work as a decent anchor?
I used to run Haggar/Strange/Felicia, but I was forced to make a switch because Felicia wasn’t working on the team, the only thing her assist did was extend my combos and nothing much more.
I tried Dante with jam session, and as good as he is for my team, I just don’t enjoy playing him, so I’m looking for someone different.
RARE FOOTAGE OF ACE POSTING IN A STRANGE THREAD HOLY SHIT.
hey good work at Final Round man, glad someone got the stream hype with one of Strange’s XF combos lol. have you considered Doom missiles in the back? Haggar/Strange/Doom would work well if you can DHC Strange in safely. basically you’re running the game’s best GTFO assist in conjunction with another amazing assist, which is Missiles. Strange + Missiles is already a nightmare once you start building momentum and chuck plasma. people WILL run into Haggar assist, so use that as your opportunity to go into a raw Impact Palm loop. TK M Daggers is amazing, try it out. it recovers much faster than just doing M Daggers on the ground, so you can land and EoA right away or something. keep zoning and calling Missiles and Lariat; very good chance you’ll be keeping them away forever.
Try with anchor Amaterasu. Cold star is amazing for Strange mixups and zoning, and their THC is like the best thing in the game. Ammy is a AAA anchor and has one infinite in XF-Lv3
Stranges assist works great with iron man as it locks down the opponent and gives him free mixups. Arthur’s dagger are really nasty for teleport and flame mix ups. Unibeam works to lock down and keep away. I really like this team since depending on matchups I can put Arthur on point and will have a full keep away team that dhcs perfectly.
What do you guys think of Nemesis/Strange/Dormammu? Bolts of Balthakk seems to be a really good assist for both of the other characters, but other than that I’m not too sure of the team synergy here.
I dont know, but can you TKnee-Bazooka with Nemesis? If it OTGs, I think you can manage to do a relaunch combo using Dormammu’s Dark Hole. Other than that, abuse THCing with Strange/Dorm, since you can impact loop after the chaotic flame. There are some possibilities for sure in there.
Morrigan has been my main in every game she’s been in, and I don’t like doom. I want to play a conservative rush down with Morrigan, not just zoning, so I thought to myself " what beats Morrigan fireballs + doom missiles ? The answer ? A tracking teleport > throw. What can protect me from that ? Eye of agamatto assist constantly out. It stays all around her body at pretty much all times keeping her safe from teleporters and she’s still able to zone / build meter / look for an opening. What else works with this team ? Pretty much everything. As a matter of fact, since EoA assist lasts for so long, I can have that protecting Morrigan while she’s zoning AND be able to call Vergil rapid slash. All at the same time. Have fun getting around morrigans zoning while she’s protected from teleports while being crossed up at full screen. On top of all of this, morrigans harmonizer provides constant meter, EoA gives vergil mixup opportunities, and rapid slash gives doc strange a bunch of mixup options with glyphs and teleports. This team also dhcs pretty well, besides SoV > Morrigan…and even then, I get a free astral vision which never hurts. This team is feeling really really solid teamwork wise.
If you see this team by a pro in the future, remember where it came from =]
I’m considering trying out Strange but Storm is already a must-have for me in the 2nd slot. Would they work together well? I was thinking of using Akuma as an anchor but I’m concerned about a lack of assist that controls air-space. Does Strange have a hard time with characters like Trish? If Akuma being with Storm is too repetitive (their assists both push the opponent away) who else would you suggest?
Alright so I’m thinking of picking up Dr. Strange to play and I plan to play Zero/Strange/IM and I already know I’m going to run beam assists for both strange and IM. The question is, do you guys know of any extended combos with Strange utilizing Zero’s assist? I currently use Ryuenjin and I haven’t come up with anything yet since I’m still putting in time to learn Strange’s solo combos.
Hey guys, I played Strange a bit early on in Ult. and though he had a ton of potential but I wanted to focus my attention on labbing up X-23 due to her changes in ult. I’m loving all of the tech you guys have come up with and was hoping to run my thoughts by some people here.
I was wanting to run Strange(EoA)/X-23(CS or Ankle Slice)/Frank West(Cart). Since Strange has pretty much turned into a reset/tod/meterless/zone king I felt he would do a good job of rounding out the team and covering X-23 bad matchups. Having X-23 with CS gives the team an Invinc. Alpha counter to help get Strange out of any sticky situations (plus it leads to a full combo) and Strange should be able to do a great job building meter for her (3 meters equals 2 dead characters.) I’m hoping that I can use the crumple from IP to get a hard tag into Frank and he can get a double snap using EoA. I don’t know if hitstun would let get higher than level 3, but that’s really all he needs to start bad assing it up. Of course, Cart is one of the best assists in the game IMO and would help enforce Strange’s zoning while giving everyone greak oki mixups (damage scaling aside.)
The only major beef I have with this is a lack of strong/easy DHCs. I assume you can work out sometime with 2 graces, FoF > SoV so that you get a knockdown into X-23 WXP (which can be used for whiff Survival Tech for Frank level ups) and SoV can follow up off of almost anything, so that shouldn’t be a problem if my team order gets shifted.
So anyone have any additional thought/pitfalls I should look out for?
