Anythign to stop scissors pressure that won’t get counterhit by s.mk or s.hk? Shit’s bad O_o
c.mk will beat any scissor and s.hk aswell clean. use it after bison is out of c.lk reach. (so dont spam it between c.lk xx lk scissor, c.lk xx lk scissor)
Are you sure , cause I was in training mode punishing MK Blanka Hori ball and MK ruffian would whiff. But I didnt try LK ruffian.

I’ve stopped scissors with B+Mk several times before and theres always MK ruffian if you know for a fact there going to scissor, but it’s one of those spacing things. I’m talking from what I’ve used before not as practical purposes. I’m gonna go into training this weekend and practice some stuff.
mp + lp + lk does not count as a kara throw for Cody. His only kara throws are mk + lp + lk and hk + lp + lk.
Hk being the better one and can be utilized, I use it all the time.
Against Bison’s lk scissor pressure you just have to wait until he’s out of cr.lk range, there’s not much else you can do. Well there is EX Zonk but you need 3 bars to make that safe, you could also backdash which I don’t advise lol. If, however, you happen to have the knife in your hand then cr.lp will either beat his cr.lk or trade, relieving you of his pressure.

well it was delayed of course, given the distance nothing too suprising, but no lag (juddering). so it was playable to an extent.
but this fact made me eat more than a pair of shoryukens. walking foward => blocking was too late registered so I eat those. but in exchange he missed a super and a ultra (tho super was more due to spacing, doublty that would hit anyway). I was way to scared to play offensive on him and ofc I was pretty nervous (only one match and one chance and ofc it’s friggin DAIGO - so I got in my mind that I’ll never get another chance, also +4,2k viewers on the stream ) so I made a couple of mistakes, but mainly bad readings. he liked to c.lp buffer into srk, so I wanted to counterhit that, but zonk aswell as u2 missed him. jab was too fast recoverd and yeah, delay ^^
but ofc i enjoyed it and winning a round vs daigo is at least something.

Why in the name of Jesus would you do this combo? It uses an entire gauge and does look flashy, but you have a good chance of screwing it up in the heat of battle. c.hp xx Super does 469 damage vs 468 damage of the previous combo not to mention you get the same damage output if you just do c.hp xx Super.
I could envision times when you don’t have full meter to pull of super, but have 3 bars plus a little bit. The cr.hp, hk rk, and f+hk might provide that extra not-so-little-bit you need.
Because if he lands a random level 3 focus and does this combo then his opponent is gonna get stunned in the next couple of hits. Also this combo is easy as hell to do so there really isn’t much of a chance to screw it up.
Super has zero stun so that alone is reason enough… I’d trade 1 damage for 500+ stun any day. But beyond that, the combo I listed is pretty easy. I have some of the worst execution around (can’t srk to save my life), and can do that combo with 90% consistency.

Quick question vs vega, can you bingo Vegas Super? I could have sworn i’ve done this before but maybe it was an EX-wall dive. I’ve gotten hit with it more than a couple times lately going for the bingo but cant figure out if its just the timing.
If not, whats the best strategy to counter? thx.
His super has a much bigger “grab” range than his normal / ex walldive. And since Zonk has only strike invincibility on his upper part but not throw immunity, he just grabs you. However, Ex Zonk will work or if he times his super badly. Another possibility could be that you releases zonk too early and he simply grabs you while zonk is active. You have to do it rather late.
Can a wise Cody player help a fellow Cody main out by giving me some match up tips vs Sakura? I know it’s a widely considered 6-4 match up, but I could still use some time tested advice.

sakura has no real answer for your pressure but ex srk which you can bait out. in footsie she can’t do much aswell, outzone her if necassary. but be aware of c.mk range of hers.
another mistake many players tend to do is to “press buttons” (don’t laugh) after her tatsus. lk is at 0, and her c.lp is faster than yours. on hit at +4!. mk isn’t used very often, but leaves her and -3 only punishable with throw, even then it’s a 1 frame thing or you’ll eat a ex srk. again, it doesnt really matter because it’s not used at all afair. hk is -2 on block and neutral on hit leavin you again open for mixup. ex is even on block at +4, so just keep blocking or prepare yourself to counter her mixup attemps.
you can stuff her neutral jump’s with b.mp and cl.hk. a major problem I see is her s.lp block frametrap combo. it’s +7 on hit and +4 on block while being at at 3 frames startup. she can delay her jabs so they act as frame trap and it’ll stuff mostly all of your tools. (zonk is often too slow against a recovery of 5 frames). keep blocking and prepare for tick throws. backdash is an option, but dont abuse.
also if any of her tatsu crosses you (mostly if done from a cloeser distance when you crouch) you can punish her the instant she’s on the other side.
mhh there is nothing else that crosses my mind.
edit: vs her “resets” there is no real trick. you can charge ex zonk to beat some stuff or backdash to evade a c.lk (if you can guess the side right) or simply block. but all in all it’s just learning which move will leave you where. and keep an eye on her dashes.
also, she has no “crossup” tatsu [afair], so just block normaly.
