Not sure if i mentioned this already but if you see abel beginning his U2, ex ruffian it.
You might be able to LK Ruffian it. Able’s Ultra 2 gives him armor, and all Ruffians are Armor breakers. Although I guess the start up on LK is probably too slow, does EX Punish it on reaction?
i have hard times versus Akuma… any idea to fight against him ?
his cr HK can punish cr mk and i can’t pressure him cause of his teleport …
OS ultra 2 is usefull but i don’t found anything to do versus a good akuma. one knockdown and you’r dead !
My scrubby Cody has yet to lose to a Vega dive with jumpback MK, too.
I’ve been noticing That I’m having some trouble closing the distance on characters that can run away and only run away. how do you guys prefer to close the distance for people like that.
I just tried b. mp agst a Vega I recorded non stop barcelona diving me in training.

Also dashing as he is hitting the wall and confusing him then when he lands EX Zonk to Ultra seems to work decently.
Still have not seen much Guile matchup info… basically Zonk punch through SB… what else? This matchup is a rough one for me. SBs are so fast the distance game is not really in Cody’s favor imo. I can’t react fast enough to snuff his SBs with Ultra2.
Also…can you use either ultra (or super) between his two crouching roundhouse hits?

just keep playing the zone game with akuma using rocks and an occasional ex ruffian until u can close in and punish accordingly
its a boring matchup for sure but grit it out

I haven’t tried it myself, but U1 should be able to get him in between his double roundhouse. I’ll have to test that myself… not sure about U2, I don’t use it.
For knife anti-air, just use jump back/toward jab. Beats pretty much everything in the air. Use c.HP when jump ins are deep.
Just lost to a pretty scrubby Sakura. She got me in that loop of crossup, a few pot shots, hurricane kick…repeat. You guys who are good are familiar with it…where if she nails the combo she can dash underneath you. Anyway, I knew exactly what she was doing, but couldn’t manage to punish any of the blocked stuff…and I just couldn’t get her off me and lost :crybaby:
Only good blocking or wake up EX zonks off the resets will do.
Just did some testing with follow ups after fierce CU combos, turns out you can safe jump vs certain characters if they decide to quick stand.
All you have to do is hold up forward after CU and you will be able to hit them if they do nothing and block their reversals if they decide to do so.

Vs everyone else like Guile etc you have to take a very very slight step and jump and you’ll be fine.
Also, do not jump after CU Vs Adon cuz he gets up the quickest and beats you clean with his rising jaguar kick thing.
I have a feeling El Fuerte is a bad match up for Cody just got beaten to a pulp by one. Anyone have any ideas what Cody can do against El Fuerte?
