nice match what was the frame trap you used at 2:15? i learned alot from how you use fwd.mp i usually follow up with another cr.jab after fwd.mp but you used cr.fp which is alot better if you have meter to burn to make it safe.only suggestion i have is to use cr.jab,jab,mp more to hit confirm into CU so you dont get punished when they block cuz you know not to throw CU out(i saw you were punished a few times on block).and then you wont have to burn so much meter to appy pressure.but take that with a grain of salt.dope match son,Respect.

What is everyone using for air to air for like claw wall dive crossups. nj.fp is the only thing i’ve seen and it needed to be done mad early and was sketchy. Focus and dashing forward takes you away from vega but safe… does he have any remotely solid air to air attacks?

If vega is on the field, you should try to avoid taking to the skies. As for wall dives, b.mp beats everything vega can dish out.

nj.rh, j.lp,j.mp is ok but not much range.i found that his best air to air is j.mk IMO

I think you have to do LK RK before Ibuki starts her neck breaker to actually catch her… I feel like Lk RK’s start up takes way too long. Unless I the exact distance I usually don’t use LK RK.

What can cody do about rog pressure? Just be patient and tech the grab or something else.

Just a minor thing about Blankas ultra 2 at maximum range. It does lots of damage even when blocked (nasty chip) and while the first hit can be jumped, the 2nd attack lasts too long to be jumped again. At max. range the only option i see is jumping forward over the first stomp and when you land execute ex-ruffan kick to slide invulnerable into Blanka. I tried this out because i saw a thread in the Blanka forum where Cody was listed with “No Punish”.

yeah, i am kinda hating lk RK to be honest, for that exact reason.

it can also link into c fp on counter hit and u can also link a s mp off a reg f mp so u can do f mp s mp cr mp end with whatever u want use the f mp to set up tick throw setups which sets up nasty c fp counterhits since then u can get a c fp CH ex rocks c fp into jab CU to ex CU if ur in corner for…well thats the match basically u just won

I’ve only played like 2 Fuertes, but they both destroyed me. There wasn’t much I could do. Any tips?

It’s hard to time wake-up zonks at times.

Against el you have to eye ball the player’s movements. ESP on wake up where he really shines at, which is one of cody’s weak points. Playing against my friend skisonic helped me a lot. When el gets a untech knockdown he has about 4 real options. Cross up splash which can be focused forward dashed into a knockdown for cody, el’s command grab where he jumps toward the opponent from the run where he either ddt them or spins around your neck. On wake up for that you have to manually have to neutral jump out of that however you have no advantage just keep that in mind. Meaty slide pretty much is the only thing that you can ex zonk. Next mix-up is pretty hard where el does his little mini rolling kick this is something that can cross you up that one is more on the player on what he decides to do after words really.

Eyeballing really helps in this match up cause el can dictate the wake up game vs a lot of chars.

This is a fuckin’ ASS hard match… With his new unnecessary BS buffs (imo) he can dance all around you to keep away and once you get that precious knockdown he teleports 10 miles away and you’re back at square 1.

PS: I should try to use Bad Spray if I get hit with a Psycho Crusher…

keep bison on the ground,throw rocks at him and when he jumps b.mp or st.f.then he is forced to stay close.if he is close that is where cody shines
