People don’t care because there is already a fuckton of fighting games out. Main attractions being SF4 and UMVC3. KOF13 is niche but it’s picking up some pace, Persona is getting big exposure and people enjoy watching it. At this point, how many other games do you think people really want to practice hardcore for.
Not sure why it being Dieminion’s second favorite game is relevant
Jwong and everyone else likes free money. As someone stated before me, there isn’t that much competition floating around outside of the guys who are already well rounded players, like many of the people you mentioned.
You can’t really “punish” the roll, as it has no recovery frames where you can’t block. The only thing you can do is to keep on the pressure, or at best, get an ambiguous cross up.
If that’s true, then people just need to find more teams like this. (Even better if they are not part of the DLC scam.)
I personally think that the game can’t pick up unless it gets more hype at tournaments.
I remember that I hated SF4 with a passion on the first months. It felt exactly how I felt about SFxTK when it came out.
However, I got so hype after watching it being played correctly at EVO, and then I picked the game up again en enjoyed it.
I played the original SSF4 until MVC3 came out and I loved it because I finally had a good grasp of the system.
I’m sure that a lot of people are in that stage where they dismiss it because they think they already know what they need to know about the game.
A top player needs to save the game by making them top 8 hype with that technology.
For those with legitimate ideas get in touch with me please. I have a lot of other shit to do cause of school but I want to do this… I feel like this community of players gets way to much shit for things that were not their fault. I understand capcom fucked up marketing but we have to show them the product they made is actually a good game. The developers did a lot of good stuff here and the game is still young I know but I think we still need to give this community some convincing, the outside that is. The primary problem,
I feel, is that people are still complaining about this game and playing it, like its still week 1. I was one of the people who left because I knew characters like Kaz, Rolento, Raven, Ryu, Cammy etc were going to be rediculous (I think people who saw frame data from the Brady guide knew it was going to get out of hand). People were expecting a mass patch but amazingly enough, Cross developers most likely knew that people were just playing the game wrong and with that in mind, they only adjusted the things that were definitely a problem, which shows the are paying attention. I want to continue to stress that the marketing for this game is wrong, very wrong. I have not heard of disc locked content since madden and if you think capcom marketing is bad, play madden lol. EA is mad dirty.
Anyway before this turns into a EA rant, I want to help this community because one thing that is holding it back is that they need more players; the more minds at it, the more likely things will get discovered, ways to deal with things will be discovered. The cross tekken comminity is incredibly small and focused primarily to online play however, we can help turn those online players into players and names we can see at future tournaments and events. This is just going take some time.
The only difference between this community and the SG community was they were in any front page article/ stream etc. Trying to convert us bad SF/Tekken/MK/KOF people to play the holy messiah of fighting games. We actually stay in our lane and just want people to stop and ACTUALLY look at the game beyond lol jab jab jab, boost combos and week 1 crap. Just go to Jibbo’s youtube channel and the FT9 with Ryan Hunter has more info than most vids,ssf4evo with shit loads of team variety from around the world
This. Why would you do anything for the haters? Let them continue with the “lol game is bad” argument and ignore it. Play your game, don’t waste time trying to prove to people that it’s good.
Holy shit, how many threads do you need? We get it, you like the game.
That aside, it’s a good idea… half-ro already brought it up. Thing is with videos like the Jibbo/Ryan Hunter set going around, if these people wanted a “reason” to play, they’d have found it already.
I don’t think people understand that this is a casual game with hardcore elements. Hardcore players do not want to deal with anything dressed up for the casual market (including myself, but I try to be open minded). This game caters to both casual and hardcore, in that sense it is a little confusing. The people that tolerate casual gameplay elements are happy to play sfxt, and are rewarded with a somewhat hardcore system, minus abc launchers. Casuals probably love it for the 30 minutes that they play it before it was left on the shelf to look pretty (which it doesnt! fucking ugly plain black and white spine art!).
I fully understand why people hate this game. I’d honestly rather play a game without gems and ABC launchers, they aren’t even fun. The game is fun, but I think there are a lot of other games that do fun without the stupidity. Only problem I have with other games is finding matches, I should be able to find people in SFIV at least :). There are some people that clearly fear that if they support anything casual, the hardcore market will disapear. Obviously this is not the case, but I can’t be bothered explaining.
