I’m always deciding between that for RR and Judgement Cut for Frank.
i use the rapid slash for frank also, its nice for both of them
So i did have Iron Fist (Rising Fang …unless someone on this team needs an OTG assist) / RR (Pendulum) / Doom (Missles or P.Beam) …i want to build my team around IF pressure because he hac some interesting tools… pendulum helps for sure and so does missles AND P.Beam but im wondering if i should do missles to break my opponents pressure so i can keep momentum or beam to help IF AND help RR if i lose IF during the match… P.Beam sounds good but i need some assistance with deciding… can someone help me out plz and thank you ?
I’m finding it best to actually put RR 2nd for a few reasons:
He loses a lot of good stuff if as anchor
On point he suspect to getting blown up and is prone to happy bday openings due to his heavy assist call nature, made risker by facing a full team
Needs a safe way to start his pressure and starting neutral at the beginning of the match can see him dead in the first hit
Has an amazing assist
He DHC’s into well
Hyper Mine is a safe DHC with +8 to give him free momentum to start a rushdown from a block
I feel it’s best to do ???/RR/(beam assist character or someone who can help with burrow cross ups from afar)
The biggest issue I had is finding a point character that can DHC with RR both ways in a coherent manner. The gun has some odd properties of lifting them too high and far for some characters and with other characters if he’s being DHC’d into, something will cause the opponent to drop when he fires the orb. Right now I’m using Captain America on point cuz he can get lots of damage off pendulum assist and Hawkeye assist (I run Cap/RR/Hawk). Cap’s hypers allow him to safely protect assist spamming and his shield charge can hit confirm, leading do RR’s Hyper Gun on hit or Hyper Mine on block…either way a win. The only down side is, unless in the corner, Cap can only combo into RR’s Hyper Gun with Stars and Stripes on the last hit (still does about 100k tho).
I tried Taskmaster, but oddly enough with the new changes I can’t find a good Task BnB that will link to RR’s Hyper gun without cutting a lot of corners for guaranteed damage. Any suggestions? I have some combos, but there’s many times conditions won’t allow it to connects or are inconsistent like OTG jumping diagonal arrows sometimes lets me connect to Hyper Gun but usually doesn’t.
On a lame note Maximum Spider makes all Hyper Mines disappear…so no cool Maximum Spider into a mine gimicks (it was going to be glorious! T_T)
I am actually looking for a solid point character too. Finding someone to DHC into RR is indeed difficult. Right now I am running ???/RR (Spitfire Twice or Pendulum depending on point character choice)/Ammy (Coldstar). Ammy’s assist is great for RR’s burrow and rocket skate pressure. A character I am thinking could be beneficial on point is Nemesis. I really like how Nemesis feels and his grab mix ups are loads of fun. Also it seems the properties of his Biohazard Assault will put the opponent in a statement to be hit by Rock n’ Roll. I am currently not in a place to test this, but if it works I might finally have guys I can get serious about.
My team revolves around RR (Pendulum) on point. My teammates include DD (Hidden Missiles) and Sentinel (Sentinel Force (Charge)).
Like most RR players, my objective is to mix up the opponent when they are trying to guard my assists. I use Pendulum before I call in a assist so that they’re somewhat protected and the opponent will have a more difficult time getting birthdays.
I don’t know.
Because of RR’s low health and low damage output, my usual preference would be to play him on point and use him as more or less a distraction. With an annoying hitbox as well as burrow shenanigans, that’s already tough enough to deal with. Pick some good assists and you’re all set.
I also can’t do any cool RR loops yet; I hope the combo thread gets updated more!

Should I get an OTG assist for RR?
I’m assuming Drones is more or less a requirement for RR?
Aside from Drones, what else would you guys use for lockdown?
There’s always Ammy, and Strider’s Vajra assist looks somewhat interesting. Seems to be a guaranteed, free way to get in.
I’m using Spencer (diagonal grapple) /Nova (centurion rush) /RR (pendulum)
Any suggestions, or opinions?
It could work, I just suggest knowing any Rocky’s X-factor gimmicks so that he isn’t useless as an anchor.

I’ve picked up Rocket Raccoon recently, but I’m still trying to find a team for him. I really like Trish, so RR/Trish are the 2 characters I want to build around. I’ve tried Vergil/Rocket Raccoon/Trish, but unfortunately Trish just isn’t the best anchor. I don’t think Vergil or RR are solid anchors either, so I’m wondering if you guys have any suggestions for an anchor on a more rushdown oriented team. There are a couple characters I just don’t like and don’t want to play however, which would be Wesker/Sentinel/Dormammu.

My official team is RR(Y)/Frank(Y)/Chris(B)
RR uses Chris’ gunfire to mixup, get a combo with 2 bars and Frank instantly becomes level 5.
Skip logtrap and use Rock ‘n’ Roll, dhc out to Frank’s Survival Techniques, it whiffs and then you use snapshot + pendulum assist, first shapshot makes Frank Lv4, second shapshot makes Frank Lvl5. You skip logtrap because that way the assist version of logtrap will wallbounce and allow Frank to get a second snapshot.
Also, Survival Techniques into Madhopper, hard tag Frank, snapshot, repeat.
Other synergy
Chris can connect Grenade Launcher after Frank’s Survival Techniques
Chris can connect Grenade Launcher with Pendulum Assist
Frank can use Gunfire Assist for mixups
Frank can use Pendulum Assist for continued combos after snapshot otg.
RR can use Frank’s Meter Gain assist while hiding behind traps
Claymore assist causes fuzzy guard apparently, I guess you could call it a guard break.
If anyone is looking for a good starter team for Rocky, I suggest RR/Doom/Sent.
Come to think of it, I would recommend anyone/Doom/Sent lol.
At this point I’d say Doom is RR’s bff. Sent drones are nice, but really just icing on the cake. Doom beam on the other hand…the Coon needs dat plasma. Instant mixups and the ability to win firefights. Both are crucial.
I’m trying to optimize RR/Storm/____ and the last spot is either Doom or Sent. I feel like Doom is the better choice but Storm works so damn well with Sent drones that it’s actually a tough call. Any thoughts?
