So far I’m thinking he’s very good point or 2nd, as he can very effectively mix up with the proper assist for it. But I’m not yet good enough w/ him to judge his abilities as an anchor.

Right, at the moment I use him 2nd as well. I have NO FAITH in my RR as anchor! But that’s not to say others can’t do it (Not to mention level 3 xfactor is so random still, lol) Right now I am SO HYPE on Firebrand and learning him that, as I mentioned earlier, I don’t have too much experience with RR on point yet.

I’m using that team with RR-B/Hawk-B/Doom-A. Works pretty well. I just need to get better with RR’s short normals, and those ROCK-ROCKETSKATES
Yeah, he’s a tricky character to use, and I’m sure theres some interesting tech that could be used with him, so I don’t see anyone bringing him to his full potential as an anchor just yet. Not to say he can’t anchor, but it just seems like atm his burrow is one of the strongest tools he has so it would not be smart to give it up.
I hope some tech gets found that makes him a bad ass anchor though… really liking his assists.
Hey im new to marvel and need some help with a team with RR. Does any think that hsinko firebrand RR is a good team or hsinko shuma gorath RR a good team
i havent really thought of a team for RR… but what ive been hypothesizing was RR with peekaboo.
reason being pretty obvious, RR has traps and peekaboo is a trap as well… so basically spam traps, hidden missiles is the anchor… basically team fill the screen with shitloads of of fast and slow stuff… the enemy will have a hell of a time navigating through that shit.

I’m running X-23(Crescent)/Rocket(Log)/Hawkeye(H Arrows) and having a blast with it. Log and Arrows just dominate the screen and give X-23 an easy way in, then when she goes down I get Rocket with Hawkeye assist complimenting his mixups and screen control. It’s been great so far.
Team COon and Friends. I basically use RR to annoy the shit out of whoever I’m playing and just keep them away. I do find myself getting pretty desperate to steal bar at times.
Rocking RR (Pendulum), Sentinel (Drones), Doom (Plasma Beam)
Drones/Plasma + TK Spitfire Twice + cr.H is pretty godlike
Plasma Beam + Teleport = free fullscreen teleport mixup
Drones/Plasma + Log Trap
Drones + Traps = Drones give you some space control so you can set traps
Teleporting characters will still be a problem, especially Zero, who can pretty-much hold foward and hit buttons and dash through all of the traps plus a well-timed Buster Shot that shuts down assists pretty easily lol. I knew it would be free but that shit was damn near super free.
Someone who can hit really hard. I’d suggest doom cause he’s a boss and his Plasma Beam or Hidden Missiles should help you zone a bit (Arthur more so than the Coon). Plasma Beam + Teleport is a free fullscreen mixup.
With what I’m seeing he needs to be point or 2nd, even if he could anchor well, he has far too much to gain from assists. The biggest thing about him is he can open up the opponent with probably the best 50/50’s in the game (assist/burrow, j.S cross, assist/rocketskate, rocket skate j.L/c.L, instant over heads). His zoning potential is purely for harassing and controlling space, not damage. You should be thinking about safely setting up 50/50s by locking them down or crossing up. He NEEDS a mid/full screen horizontal assist and if you can a pinning assist so you can set up all his ambiguous stuff or set up traps to hold them there even longer.
I prefer faster assist so I’m using Hawkeye horizontal assist and it’s working great as it also does good chip and can lock down long enough for my shenanigans.
Heavy hitting TAC or DHC might do him a lot of good to since his damage is low/inconsistent and you want that 50/50 to almost be an opening for something scarier to follow up with.
Right now I have raccoon and hawkeye, but I can’t find the 3rd or order. Raccoon wants hawkeye somewhere behind him and im not sure hawkeye can anchor (dont think so) so it’s likely Coon/Hawk/???.
I put RR first because I’m really offensive with him. But when he’s 2nd pendulum helps Frank alot.
I like spring super, teleport behind, then push back with shopping cart. Nothing feel better than slamming someone into that trap.
For those of you on point, good luck getting bar. Don’t forget the option to TAC and steal some much-needed bar. My RR just runs wild all over the screen. Taking people to reset city. Only worry is to just keep applying pressure and be as annoying as possible.
Like I said. I am super offensive with my RR so getting meter isn’t a issue. Traps, teles, and rocket skates
Played some friends today and I love him on point. I was unintentionally using him as a battery lol. Just taking my opponent to reset city. One hard knockdown is all it takes for the Coon to run wild, but one mistake is all it takes to kill him.
Long story short, you need to be aware of all of your options at any given time and apply them appropriately (i.e., CROUCHING HEAVY).
Hey guys been using rocket racoon in a team with skrull and doom, i posted this in the skrull thread also i guess to get a feel for helping my team out…right now its been like… RR (Pendulum) / Skrull (Spinning fire move forget its name) / Doom (Missles). I really like the team character wise and can play each character ok right now but wanted to checkup what people think of this before i start taking it serioussly and getting in the lab with it. I dont really wanna lose any characters but i can understand they may need switching around or assist changes. But what do people think? i might change doom to plasma beam as i think they would be more helpful for both RR and Skrull as i havent been able to find as much use as i’d have liked from the missles. Maybe stick Skrull on point and RR second? i dont know help if possible guys any advice welcome.
Definitely agree with the Plasma Beam idea. How do you plan on playing RR? I guess people may have different styles depending on their team.
I kinda been using him for his size in close quaters but when I’m away I don’t rush in I try and preassure with traps and use his burrow to get in after a bad move on there part so I can punish to start a offence so id say gimmicks with zoning but i rushdown as they make mistakes if its an option
Been playing around with RR teams and assists for him. Gotta say I’m loving Vergil’s Rapid slash assist. It gives you time to see if it hit them for an easy hit confirm hyper. Or if its blocked, they get pushed to the other side of the screen so you can continue your lameness
