True…I guess it’s cause I like to be ‘fair’ with Zero. Have to sit down with LL one day and I do have Log Trap setups for it lol
I ran RR / Ammy / Strider for a while. It was a fun team. I suck with Ammy otherwise I would run that more often. It’s a really dirty team. Maybe I’ll relearn Ammy for this team haha.
Strider backed by Spitfire is good though. Not sure how great Ammy with spitfire is, but hey, something to try out.
I have no experience with top tiers, but I know that Spencer with log doesn’t really work. Miniboss found some tech with that combination, but I’m not sure about it being great. You’ll most likely be using coldstar with Spencer for mixups. You can try Nova, as his wallbounce isn’t required for him to do stupid combos. I actually think Doom point might work well with this team. However, I don’t use any top tiers, so I don’t have much opinions on the matter. You can use V.Joe for a shorties team, and DJ Kyu has had two combo videos devoted to this team for a really long time. Again, I would use this team but I suck with Ammy.
Stars, I just remembered. On incoming, in xf3 or whatever, vs. people with no air mobility, boulder > MH. Then H.burrow. Try to be ambiguous on where they will land and which side you are on. If they happen to block it, no one ever push blocks so you’ll end up right next to them and have enough time for a float S. Vs. people with air mobility, chances are if they see that mad hopper, they’ll airdash backwards or whatever. Rocket Skates under them and then log. It is ambiguous and it will catch them especially in the corner. If they block they’ll fall into the Mad Hopper, allowing you to do whatever you want. Remember, Rock n Roll does a crapton of damage in xf3.

Yeah I may go with that team cause I really like it. The health is the only drawback. It’s a dirty team though. Spitfire with Strider is actually pretty nasty. Tried it in training mode for a bit. Combine that with Striders zoning and mix ups it’s pretty good. I tried Spencer but you can’t use Log cause it just messes up everything. You’d have to use Bomber but since that input is easy to mess up it’s not worth it. I would use Joe but his mobility is kind of an issue along with his awkwardness. I love his supers though. I would use Doom but I hate Doom. Funny seeing how I have Vegil and RR together cause they have good synergy.
Actually, now that I think about it, Tonosama in Japan uses Shuma / RR / Ammy. He does really well w/ this team.
Yeah but I suck at charge characters lol I did consider Shuma but I’m just bad at charge characters xD
What is the best assist to put with RR? Should I prioritize unblockables or covering the air space?
I have been running my Mag,RR,Doom team for about a year now, check out how I use this unique team and playstyle
I’m currently playing Nova, Frank West, Rocket. I know there is alot of different opinions on weather or not to have Rocket second, last or first. I have him last currently since i already have solid combos with Niva and Frank West, and giving Rocket Raccoon the xf lv 3 since 1) he needs it the most 2) nova is too different i xf lv 3 3) FW is crap if i havent gotten him to lv 4 with nova already. (Calculations are based on my execution and knowledge btw)
I was thinking about having rocket first, nova second and FW last tho, since shopping cart is a nice assist with f+h for a high low mixup or a teleport mixup, and Novas overhead gives a good teleport mixup as well considering it can be unblockable.
Spitfire twice works good as an assist with nova and frank west also, so i’m torn.
RR on point’s a bad call; too many bad matchups, struggles to build a bar off all confirms, centurion M doesn’t help him and you have no way to kill off a touch beyond optimized boulder loops.
Log trap is more useful than spitfire; people get confused when they lose air mobility.
X factor should be used whenever it benefits you best for the team, not solely saved for RR. He’s lacking in the comeback department against players who know better.
Decided on Zero and Spencer. Found some tidbits online with their synergy. Mostly picking Zero cause…well it’s Zero let alone I’m a MM fan lol Both on point worked well so they could be used in different matchups. Though it’s hard to see Zero having a bad match up except a few.
I have a Raccoon strategy question and since the other threads are dead, I’ll just ask here.
Okay, my main team is Mags/Doom/Phoenix, but since Morrigan rapes my team I decided to come up with a team just for her, plus I need a side team anyway since 1 team gets boring. Anyway, the team I chose is Dormammu/Mags/Raccoon. Log trap is pretty gdlk for Dorm both in neutral and combo extender from anywhere. Log Trap also gdlk for Mags, especially when you add in Attraction/Gravitation shenanigans to extend it’s hitbox. My general strategy is to go all in with Dorm, come in with Mags second, since he has good options on incoming and then I DHC into Raccoon. This obviously doesn’t always happen and sometimes I’m just left with anchor Raccoon. My question is, how on earth do I deal with runaway characters. I was playing against a Trish, couldn’t get anywhere near her, even against Doom I can’t do anything if he parks up in the sky and does Photons. I keep hearing Raccoon beats him convincingly but I don’t see how. How do I deal with this stuff? What are Raccoons best options against super jump height opponents.
You don’t. Especially with Doom, what I like to do is to get under him. You have a m.teleport that goes right under him and behind so you’ll be safe from finger lasers. You can try to fish for a Log Trap because that thing hits deceptively high. Other than that, you really can’t do anything if they’re up there.
Actually, if you are feeling risky, you can also fish for an air throw. Raccoon vs. Doom isn’t a bad match, you just have to play a bit more cautious because of footdive. I like to keep side switching and mix up Doom as he lands.
I haven’t played a good Trish, so I can’t tell you how to fight that match, however, from what I can gather is just to hit her with a log while she’s dive kicking down. It’s pretty risky as well, but seems to be your best bet.
However, if you’re feeling up to it, RR / Dorm is a really gdlk shell. You may want to tag in RR instead of using Dorm first, if you feel the matchups are better. I don’t play Dorm, so I don’t know his matchups. I want to though. I actually would play your team if I ever went away from Jill. LOL. but probably in the order of Mag / RR / Dorm, but all these characters are good in any order.
More people need to take advantage of Spitfire H vs flying Dooms. Goes through Finger Lasers and fires at an angle that doesn’t intersect with Plasma beam.
I just teleport under him, wait till he’s falling, then log. LOL. It hits unusually high.
What are your opinions on RR/Dante, good synergy? Jamsession seems useful but I’m not quite sure.
Coon with jam session is pretty good, and spitfire helps dante pretty well.
I would use this with point Chris.
I’m really liking strider, Coon ammy.
Just need to learn strider and ammy.
That’s a very low HP team, and damage is a really big problem. It’s a good team where anyone can be anchor. I should practice this team, but I’m not good with Ammy. Raccoon is the only one that gives you any sort of damage.
I feel like if you play Strider on point the option to TAC infinite is pretty important. I wish coon had that then I’d play him on the second spot without a doubt
Has anyone tried Morrigan with Raccoon? Seems like that would be pretty viable minus the execution. Also thoughts on point raccoon? I know most say it’s not good cause of bad matchups.
I don’t see a problem with point Raccoon. My Jill dies quickly more often than not, and I make comebacks with RR / Strider against whole teams. It’s essentially the same idea, except that he has one more assist.
About morrigan and raccoon, I would love to play Morrigan, for this reason :
There’s many of these setups too.
D: WTB Morrigan skills.
