Yeah like if my execution wasn’t so butt I’d would play Morrigan lol I’m surprised more players haven’t done it yet. Otherwise I may just go with rr/ammy/strider since that feels more fun to learn.

Also anyone has advice when it comes to Trish. I thought she always needed an OTG to work but she seems to work well with RR too.

Damn I can’t seem to complete my team. I want Spidey on point and I like RR second but not sure if I want to use him as my anchor. If I play Spidey/RR who should be my third? I’ve messed around with Doom but if I play him he should probably be on second and also I don’t really like him lol.
And I’m not convinced Spider/RR/Dante is a good team. Who should be my anchor?? Do I really have to put RR there?
What assists does RR benefit from the most/what DHCs etc.
Also please give RR a TAC infinite :wink:

Wow, Morrigan/RR looks really fun :smiley: but seems like Strider wouldn’t fit in that combo which is a bummer (Strider is his best assist from what I’ve noticed)

Doom with missiles is a good option for your team, but I would put RR anchor.

  • Extends Spidey combos for kills
  • Doom does well with both Log Trap and Spitfire assists
  • Better to TAC into Doom, RR has a TAC infinite but its really hard to set up and execute (You would need a hitbox or an extra up button)
  • Doom DHC into Trap in corner situations leaves for some nasty setups, Gun super does a good amount of damage as well.
  • RR and Doom assist (any assist) is good, although I prefer missiles for mix ups as RR’s game is mostly mix ups.

Or you could go with Dante anchor (I currently use this with Magneto on point)

  • RR/Dante combo is really good (Unblockables and tons of mix ups, Jam Session will help you fight flying characters)
  • The DHC synergy is amazing, any DHC will work in most situations.
  • Trap Super - DHC - Devil Trigger is safe
  • Long stylish combos
  • 2 million dollar combo! (Tons of damage)

Thanks for the reply, yeah I know Doom is good with Spidey and log but it’s Doom so I’m not sure.
Yesterday I messed around with Spidey/Nova/RR and it was really fun although no lockdown assist for Spidey is kind of bad isn’t it.
Anyway I went through the cast with who I want with Spidey and Rocket, and also who is the best.

For the team Spidey/RR/X:
Ammy (lockdown assist, can use logtrap well, good DHCs, nice anchor, Spidermans Zoo(!) )
Dante (lockdown assist, fun, very good DHCs, nice anchor, although would use twice spit shot better-logtrap is pretty bad for him right)

And looking through the possible teams if I ordered it Spidey/X/RR:
Doom (obvious choice, hardtagcombos, missiles, guardbreak, TAC, DHCs, great with logtrap and hypertrap)
NOVA (already the point in my main team so I know him, TAC, guardbreak although hard, decent with logtrap, great DHCs, pretty irrelevant assists although have not tested pulse H that much could be decent)

So how do you like these teams? I want a fun although kind of viable secondary team so what’s best with RR etc. Since the characters are Spidey and RR I feel like I can’t just pick another character that I like, he must fit and fill their gaps.

The Spidey/Nova/RR composition seems like it could be fun, you can set up unblockables with Centurion Rush assist, or use it to extend combos. Nova will also help with damaging DHC’s.

Spidey/Dante/RR is guaranteed to be fun but carpal tunnel will set in. Dante/RR can kill with 2 bars but its almost better to learn resets, you can find really good mix ups and safe moves with Spitfire assist. RR/Dante is similar but its more focused on resetting.

You may also want to look into Strange, bolts are really good for Spidey. Needless to say… RR/Strange is probably the best option if you intend to OTK people with RR.

I’m currently trying to run RR for certain match ups, RR/Modok/Sent_Doom. Looks like its going to be a lot of fun, lol

Can someone explain the Coon cold star setups? I’ve seen them but I can’t tell what’s going on.

You can also watch Tono-sama vids on Cold Star and RR set ups. Very nasty stuff. Fuzzy guards, unblockables, and mix ups. That’s just some of the stuff you can do. It’s why I love the shell so much.

Well the thing is watching doesn’t really help much. Cold star muddies up what’s going on and it’s already pretty difficult to see Coon’s mixups as it is. Honestly, I think half the reason opponents taking on Coon/Ammy get hit is because they can’t see/tell what the hell is going on–on top of the actual fuzzies, unblockables, etc.

That’s the point. Since you can’t see you can’t block and it allows for set ups. For example you can have them block Cold Star and place a Boulder Trap. Then you get a high low or unblockable set up. It may not help to watch but try to look carefully. Otherwise go into the lab and experiment a little.

I use Trish / RR / Ammy and I get a lot of mileage out of Round Harvest setups and a lot of safe switching between Trish and RR. It works well with the whole Trish mentality of constantly transitioning between rushdown and runaway. My whole team has safe switch options from DHC’s to simply placing a trap and then hard tagging.

Trish can work with Spitfire or Log Trap which is nice, they both help her neutral game a lot depending on the matchup. I use Low Voltage for Trish’s assist, which can be useful but you will often want to use Cold Star lol.

Seriously though, my team can ublockable infinitely for an entire match against someone who can’t get out of it, and you’ll still land it often against people who know what they’re doing.

Yeah I was considering on learning her but I didn’t know how to use Log Trap to extend her combos. That and she seems a little execution heavy but just a tad though lol

I was wondering could you do unblockable set ups with Log Trap for Firebrand? It seems like you can but I’m not sure.

What is the unblockable for Trish / RR? Is it just round harvest -> boulder unblockables? How do you build all that meter back?

I dunno if anybody caught the recent Curleh Mustache South, but that Mexican Joe/RR/Morrigan (TA Guero) had an interesting thing going for him.

What order do you guys think is better; Joe/RR/Morrigan, or Joe/Morrigan/RR?

I can see why he would want Rocket 2nd. The safe DHC into Boing is really good for Joe, and he can get ok damage DHCing into Rocket’s machine gun super, too… but having Morrigan 2nd gives Joe very nice TAC options. Any thoughts or tips are appreciated.

You can do either. RR second gives you crazy hard tag into soul drain combos. Assuming you can hit a net trap. They’re both capable anchors.
