Haven’t tried it out extensively yet, but I’m liking the options on incoming with Repulsor. If they block, they’ll slowly fall to the floor where you can quickly Mighty Hurricane (all blockstun resets when the opponent lands). If they pushblock, you can TK Hurricane. If they take the hit, Mighty Strike or :s:. Log Trap is nice, it covers a lot of space so Thor can get into Mighty Strike position. If they get hit, I usually just confirm with :s: or :l: :s:. Repulsor could be used as lock down when Thor gets in, but I haven’t had the chance to try it that much yet. TAC to Tony could lead to infinite (still learning). If Tony’s left on point, Log Trap gives him conversions from Unibeam and Repulsor. Tony should kill, but he can still TAC or DHC back to Thor. I’m pretty new to Rocket Raccoon, but I’m willing to put in the work because I like the character.
I’ve been trying to create a B team so i was wondering about your guys’s opinion., and so far im thinking about running Thor/Wright/Ammy. phoenix wright is my 2nd favorite charecter in the game and ive been trying to make him work in my own personal way since the game came out.
So with this team my general stratagy would be to have lockdown assist with amy coldstar, or try to setup an unblockable with the missle assist with thor. since thor has the highest health in the game, even if i dont land a hit with thor it still leaves me with at least 2 bars to work with, in which i can perform “a little help here!”. its alot likes doom+amy’s follow my lead, but instead the TAC to gather evidence with wright which gives me enough time to gather evidence 4 times with him(incase i get 1 piece of bad evidence)
i run thor + tony with repulsor on my main team. i love the incoming setup with repulsor. what i like to do is call repulsor and most wont pushblock as they are free for a throw at that point and know that so chances are they wont. since they wont pushblock, as they fall to the ground i sj. and then airdash down right away and at that point i go for high, low or throw. i usually go for a high low a couple times 1st so they never see the throw coming!
Storm is an ok partner for every character because of hail storm and TAC infinite, but i wouldnt play her in a serious match over Dr Strange or Dormammu.
You probably want whirlwind IMO. Ammy cold star is a overall better assist than typhoon. With that being said you’d probably want Thor with mighty smash assist to get people off your African queen.
I tried out that team, Thor/Storm/Ammy. Whirlwind assist of course, but with Dr Strange you can teoretically kill 1000k health characters starting from Thor j.L + ammy coldstar from corner to corner so i dont think its worth replacing Dr Strange damage boost for Thor and bolts assist just for an ok DHC. You will have to work on your TAC infinite inputs if you want it to be as efficient as Thor/Strange assuming you are taking the risks of TAC breaks
I’ve messed around with IM/GR and I like it so far. It feels like trying to play a nerfed version of Cap/GR/IM but it’s definitely a fun team to play casuals (just like my Thor/Dorm/Storm team).
How would you guys/ladies buff Thor if you could. I personally like his character and what they came up with as is but if you had to change some things if the game were to recieve a “update” what would they be. These are the only things id change that would buff him but still he “fair”. At least we’ll have a list or some sort of idea of what could work. A lot of people say a bunch of random stuff but try and go with the fictional lure of the game for it to make any kind of sense.

mighty thunder not sucking
mighty punish not causing hard knockdown but groundbounce like mighty hurricane
better hitbox for sparks right below Thor
faster s.H for failed ground regular grab recovery wouldnt hurt, that normal is already *** regardless of speed
faster j.H. 16 frames is too much >_>
take out the grab glitch where two chars grabbing/using snap back at the same time result in H normals clashing. Command grab should take priority
but removal of TAC infinite and less damage output overall for Zero, Hulk and Vergil would be a good enough buff for Thor
I thought about making a thread for the changes we want if there ever was going to a be an UMvC3 update but now feel that time has passed. In any case, there a lot of changes in the UMvC3 2013 changes that I liked. So what I would like to see changed are:
Faster recovery and start up for all ground normals
Faster startup time on all non-charged Mighty Strikes
c.H gets 1 hit of armor
Mighty Thunder gets the same frame data as Magnetic Shockwave and pushes back on block
Mighty Smash is non-throwable
Y assist is something else because no one ever uses it
air Mighty Tornado having a hit box directly underneath Thor’s feet
Mighty Spark having a larger horizontal hit box so it could hit more grounded characters
air.M Mighty Strike OTGs - I saw this being suggested and and like the idea of it because it opens up a lot more assists that can be used
A hammer toss move like others have been wanting which could be inputted by QCF+S
