when you anti air with ultra raging demon you have to time your input so that the charcter has already commited to a move. Akuma is invincible in the first couple frames. if you input too early they will mash on HK or HP to complete their jump in and if too late they’ll mash dp once they land. it’s not an easy thing to do consistantly.
AA U1 isn’t really hard, it’s only very difficult IMO vs characters who can change their jump trajectories with dive kicks or other specials, cr.mk xx U1 is even easier to do than cr.hk. Infiltration is pretty much the only one who has showed its true power in high level play, not because he’s godlike at executing it or something.
I remember back when barely any of the top players used U1 as an AA while it was very commonly suggested on these forums as a good option, there were many who thought it’s a “gimmick” or “doesn’t work vs good players”, guess they have nothing to say now…
try a kara demon against a Gouken dive kick, it’s stupidly hard to do. That kick is so slow you always activate too early no matter how long you wait for it, and get kicked out of it.
In fact, I start to belive you can’t demon a dive kick. Too much active frames.
If I wait for the last moment to do it, I get hit by the dive. If I do it a bit earlier it looks like I’m doing good with the feet inside my body while demon activation starts, then I get hit…
At least that’s why I got.
It’s very easy to catch people that jump at you with the ultra. Mashing doesn’t really factor since you should be doing the ultra from the lowest possible point anyway.
It’s not really “easy”, but it’s not stupidly hard either. Not offline at least. With how tight the timing is though, I can’t really see it being done reliably at all online. Just go back into training mode and wait until the last possible second. His big toe is right around your belt if you’ve done it correctly.
Well if it was that easy top players would do it all the time. it’s easy in training mode but risky in a real fight
they do it all the time just not everyone is dumb enough to jump at them when they can do it

I beg 2 differ. n 4 dive kicks, if its Akuma vs Akuma, when the Demoning Akuma goes into the pose, if the DFK Akuma’s foot is touching his head, the demon wins
the command dive kick beats AA demon.
DF dive kick or command dive kick , Any dive kick in the game is hard to AA using U1 reliably because they have so many active frames and your mind will be busy about the opponents other options in the air instead of executing the dive kick so they’re not the easiest to react to, if anyone thinks he can AA dive kicks easily & reliably with U1, you’re kidding yourself.

My reply was regarding Gouken anyway. Their kicks are not exactly the same at all. Also, delaying the DFK will really screw up your timing as well. In any event, a standard DFK is actually quite easy to AA demon compared to the command, delayed and Gouken versions.

@4:25 it looks like Yuu tries to JF block, is this because it’s unblockable? (sidenote: is there actually a comprehensive list of the unblockables now?)
Same @ 5:02, I wouldn’t have thought he’d try to DP there unless he knew the following setup is unblockable?
Those are not unblockables, it’s a simple cross up after a sweep. I think he could have autocorrect Dp. I’m not sure though. And yes there is a thread for unblockables (character discussion…akuma) There are a lot of them but frankly you just have to know where to block.
