Actually the sad thing is I did mash SRK a couple times and it didn’t come out.
I did find that one when I was messing around. I found it was easier to just j.MK because you have more room for error. I’ve found against the tall characters you can always get j.HK to connect, but that the timing is much more strict because if you are late on it then it turns from a fake cross up into an always blockable attack.

I hate watching Fuerte matches. The moment he’s in everything just becomes hectic and random.
2 way teleports, wakeup focus dashes and backdashes IMO make this matchup more frustrating for Fuerte than Akuma. I hate his wakeup EX upkicks though, even though the recovery was nerfed it’s still stupid fast!

I respect Tokido’s approach to the match, keeping it more footsie based, but I think he respected Momochi’s wake up too much and probably should have been more lame when he had the lead. That said you can clearly see improvement in Tokido’s ground game.
Damn right. Its actually quite impressive. I noticed he’s using DP to anti air more lately too. Not so much in these matches as the traitor doesn’t jump at him a great deal, but in general in other matches I’ve seen him anti air a lot more.
I’m having trouble clearly seeing him at all.

Anyway if that video is recent I guess Daigo is butthurt about losing to Mago’s Fei @ topanga and is resorting to Akuma. I honestly still don’t see him being able to use Akuma, his style just screams Ryu.
He was raping Feis left and right in non-tournament matches against Mago and Fuudo, maybe the whole sponsorship got to his head and he’s just not as mentally solid at tournaments as the beast once was.
He was looking a little more competent with Akuma in that one.
It is ok to play zoning with Akuma so long as you playing a Zoning Akuma not a Zoning Ryu.
Oh man his Akuma is horrible xD No setups whatsoever, just going for the safest option and standart option all the time, missed his TK Zanku input, now that was funny, didn’t think Daigo doesn’t know how to TK fireballs lol (I mean even I don’t ever miss a regular TK Zanku, I might miss if I go for the DF grab, dashx1, instant TK zanku, but I don’t think I miss it when I do it regularly), and he missed his DF Palm like 4 times and 3 times got his OS cuz he didn’t time it right and the palm just whiffed, and 2 of those OS were demons, man that was a pain to watch. And he didn’t have much in the way of fundamentals either, just brainlessly throwing out his sweep, no whiff punishing at all, wonder why Vega didn’t catch on to it and began to whiff-punish those sweeps himslefl lol. The only round that he did well, was the first round of the last match, but there was nothing extraordinary in that one as well.
Clearly he doesn’t play Akuma no more, he just chose him to have a little fun in endless, the man got 25 win-streak, why not fool around with some other characters for a change? So don’t get your hopes up xD

He let momochi jump in so many times he still needs to improve his anti airing. His ground game looked solid though GGs from both players
Well, Daigo might be not the best when playing a character he doesn’t really play no? He’s human no? But whatever, I understand some people are so in love with some players they just get butthurt, even when I didn’t say anything offending, I just said that he’s Akuma is nowhere near as good as some other players. He did miss his Zanku right? How often do you see Tokido miss one? He did missed his DF Palm, just pressing the button too late and causing it to miss right? That doesn’t happen often to those players that play Akuma as well, does it? Especially not 4 times in a row. The round that he mixed his opponent well, was just the most standart DF grab follow up (dashx1, instant Zanku, land on the other side and go into a stHP–>Hadou FADC combo), that practically any of us can do on this forums, this is what you might call nothing extraordinary right?

Daigo’s shoto play in that vid was very solid and the fact that he is trying out Akuma stuff like df palm>os demon or crossup air fireball is a good sign that he wants to learn Akuma now and not just play him like Ryu.
