We already defeated Sheng-long! The Akuma Video Thread

That’s why it is so difficult to win with Akuma in tournament, look at Tokido and MBR, they ate some random reversal and then they were a bit disorientated then, Akuma is really frail, random reversal in a FT2 format is totally viable.

BTW MBR did pretty well, but I think he didn’t play his better against Ryan, next time dude! (nice result BTW #3)

Tokido is confirming is bad shape, too much random DF, too much Teleport, not enough shoryuken in his game as anti air (he really needs to work that point), NOT enough shoryuken frame trap against the light kick/punch masher or reversal masher.

I used to see a lot of matchs of Eita’s Akuma (on his stream), and I can say the way he uses shoryuken is godlike, it makes him so surprising, and no way to jump in his Akuma (even crossup), his throw ability is awesome, very hard to tech throw.

I feel Tokido as he was at Stunfest 2010 and the first godsgarden online (FT10), not confident at all, stressed when the situation is becoming tough. He was really strained in the last round against TRSheva.
Even the match VS the Dhalsim player was difficult for him, whereas he destroyed YHCMochi at Godsgarden #4.

Can’t wait to see how he will react for the world game cup at Cannes (17-19 february).

Thanks for the headsup guys!
I’m really satisfied with the result I achieved.
What Ganishka said he went on full force that first round that really put me off my game.

Btw, that ‘random’ cody is IMO one of the best players in europe and also one of my abroad friends in germany :).
It’s my fault he knows ALL the setups which greatly helped him win. Losing to Elwood Blues on the other hand is well… bad.
Theres alot of footage taken outside the stream matches will upload asap as soon as it becomes available :).

That last Sagat match of yours really surprised me, though I must admit that he had a very strange style o_O

Nice work on that comeback by the way  The same night I was watching the stream archive I was saying to a mate of mine how awesome Akuma’s come-back potential is. 30 mins later I’m watching your match where you completely turned it around when I bet everyone within shouting distance was chalking up your defeat. Tidy work!

Your mate who uses Cody played a really solid game and didn’t let up. Nice work

where are those vids ?

nvm, got it.

Ryan kept on jumping/backdashing/reversaling on wakeup and blocked like once or twice in 2 games. You should have caught up and started going with df palm os sweep to beat all those things and get some hard knockdowns. But obviously it’s easy to talk in front on my pc while it’s hard to adapt on the go with the pressure of playing vs one of europe’s best players in the final rounds of a big tournament.
Ryan actually played pretty bad, but you were mindfucked by his style. He was also jumping a lot which is unusual for sagat

@Gamogo, yea there was alot of pressure going on, but Germans vs Dutch isn’t really there because we are all good friends so that limited the trashtalk :P. It’s more of Germany + Holland vs France.

@Superlollo,
We played alot of casuals beforehand, online and offline, so he developed a style just to get in my weakpoints and it worked for him. I can have nothing but respect for that. Next month I’ll have another chance to do it big.

congratulations on the top 3 finish Mooi. Keep it up!

Why is it bad to lose to ellwoodblues? I’ve seen his vids, seems like a very good player! Don’t feel bad, man.

I said it for tokido, I played him in losers and destroyed him 2-0.

Here are the stream matches, offstream matches I will post later today.

Tokido is really strong I never faced such a crazy akuma

This comeback was glorious! Good stuff.

MBR i have a question if you dont mind me asking

can you explain why that AA demon connected for the finisher of the very last round in that elf match?

i cant tell if its just because elf has a really floaty jump or if he pushed a button after

congrats on an awesome showing

Ehm, his floaty jump combined with his akward hurtbox that extends beyond his animation for some reason.
When you look up the hitboxes they are about the same size as rufus, which helps him when he does his run mixups because of that.

eLive opened an arcade and does a ranked battle every month, this was my participation.

Eita and -6 Endless matches

Some great footsies displayed by -6. Never seen any player take advantage of Akuma’s fast walkspeed like -6 does.

just helping out. questions, let me know.

Why the hell did -6 keep going for tatsu > sweep? Am I missing something here and Dudley can be swept after cr.mp like Fuerte or what?

Crazy unsafe far roundhouses too, I know -6 doesn’t give a fuck, but it felt almost like he never played a Dudley before lol.

I’m pretty sure there is no way to sweep Duds after tatsu but I haven’t tested every variable.

Holy shit, Dudley can punish Goukis sweep with a fucking Ultra? That’s sooooo dirty D: I hope I never see this happen in a tournament, that shit’s mind-breaking lol.

On another note, we need those topanga league replayes soooo bad lol… Especially that Kindevu-Tokido set from today, I wanna see it so bad ):

P.S. imagine if Tokido will go from like the 11 place out of 12 to a top 3, now that would be the murder-face I remember! xD

So true man, that’s exactly what I’ve thought ever since I saw that tournament footage from A-cho a while ago. He was simply walking under some characters cross-ups like it was a park lol, people got so confused by that xD
