We already defeated Sheng-long! The Akuma Video Thread

That was a good performance against the Ken, real nice AA and spacing, seems u just had him figured out lol.

I’ll be honest he was being really predictable. If you noticed at the start of the last round I just threw out a sweep to begin the round, it was because I knew he was going to step kick to start the round.

Nice JR Demon at the end there! You must’ve been pretty annyoed with that Bison to throw that out like that. Too bad… You had his number when he was using Chun. I was hoping you would pull something else out of your bag of tricks at the end. Good stuff though. You were really on point for the majority of the tourney.

finals from dreamhack 2011 good to see akuma beating yun…

Wow, Ryan’s Yun was really trash in this grand finals. I don’t miss those combos with yellow bar connection, he was dropping links left and right and wasting tons of meter to do stupid stuff like FADCing jab shoulders.

REALLY disappointed. He was probably mindfucked or something. I was hoping to see some good matches but they were completely one way.

Ryans Yun sent infiltration to losers bracket when they faced off in winners finals… i think ryan was nervous because they were playing on that main stage… during the top 32 they didnt play on that same set up…i think this caused his bad play

If anything it could be laggy monitors. Ryan has been travelling to international tournaments for like 10 years. I’m sure he’s used to play on big stages.

Infiltration played better, smarter and gave him no quarter. Good reads, good mind fucks, smart hit-confirms, excellent keep out and zoning. End of story.

I found it interesting (and the commentator also mentioned it) how Hart went into ‘Yun mode’ at one point and scored a chunk of damage towards the end. Wake-up dps, mashed dps. He did this a couple of times but then held off and Infiltration seemed unphased by it either way.

Pretty impressive showing by Infiltration, though perhaps not Hart’s best effort. I strongly feel Yun has downgraded Hart who I felt plays much better with other characters.

For some reason Yun players (and players who switch to Yun) alway random uppercut waaaay more often.

I’ll be honest Yun’s wake up sucks against people who can punish the up kicks.

To be honest MM after you just won a tourney don’t mean anything to the winner in my experience. Once you’ve won a tourney the last thing you feel like doing is playing some more or at least playing at a super serious level. You’re simply no longer hungry.

That goes without saying with any unsafe reversal… I’m pretty sure these high level Yuns know what they’re getting themselves into when they throw out these random upkicks. It just surprises me that so many of them would just let it rip.

Yeah, but I’m certain Ryan Hart wanted his runback. Getting 2nd place sucks.

infiltration still played well… he doesnt make this match up seem that horrible… its still very bad for akuma… at least he won the tourney and got the big check… ryan hart just needed to get his salty run back with his OP character to feel good

Here are some really old videos of me playing back in February, can’t believe these are still up. Tourney nerves kinda made me do some really dumb things

Thought I’d share this, wonder if this is possible in 2012

There were some discussions about the possibility of such setups in in the AEv2012 changes thread, gonna have to wait and see if they’ll actually work, kind of a cool FADC alternative lol. If I’m not mistaken cr.fierce has more hitstun than standing fierce, so if such setup is even possible, it might only be possible with that.

So I was watching this old match from the last final round and I happen to notice a strange glitch

Maybe not a “glitch” per se, but rather it’s the combined pushback of Rog’s Rush Straight + Akuma’s Zanku Hadou both hitting at the same time?

Yeah, guess it’s that.

Or simply Akuma remembered he should be pulverizing guys instead of hitting them like a wimp and put a little effort into that hado lol.
