We already defeated Sheng-long! The Akuma Video Thread

Flowcharting isn’t strategy. In fact it is the opposite of strategy as it has no real plan other than to repeat a very basic set of moves over and over.

You can totally disregard any online tourney godsgarden coz its bad for you and refer to better player beating up lower standard player as a reference. I take account on both online and offline tourney.

too much swearing gone by, I am going to leave it at there.

Strategy is not relevant to your opponent’s skill. You come up with the most relevant plan vs that character and that plan is valid for all opponents.

This was already explained to you.

This vid touches upon some of the stuff I am talking about.

Here is you admitting that top players told you that online was not the same as offline:

I’m not sure why them telling you it isn’t quite the same would prompt you to believe they should be considered equally…whatever.

For any new players reading this my advice to you is to look at the best players for the characters you use and try to understand what they are doing offline. Online will always come with some drawbacks and have both parties involved alter what they do and how they do it giving you an inferior version, however slight, of what they actually would/could do.

by saying i take account on both online and offline, i mean i watch both and see which is good for reference. those lines doesn’t have anything related between online vs offline being different. and i’ve said online though slightly different those good player adjust and doesn’t affect them heck there’s money on the line in ggs.

you like disregarding anything and everything online, don’t bother with topanga, ggs, crosscounter, or any online stuff for that matter.

even the video posted he’s looking at the mechanical side of the game. but hei, knowing is half the game, the other half comes from putting it into practice and see the end result. which you ignore. so your just a theory fighter in the end? coz skill is irrelevant so if that guy have bad reaction and read all this strategy you reckon he will do well?

why do you love to troll so much. I have fed you enough. please stop already.

Yawns

You were told it wasn’t the same by top players. Having to adjust to something just means you deal with it, not that it is the same.

If there is a choice between online and offline offline is going to be better.

He sure is. Jeff is covering all facets of becoming a good player in that video, however it is the points he makes about not worrying who the opponent is that is relevant to what I was saying.

I am ignoring it because it is not relevant to what I am discussing. I am not talking about tactics or execution. Never was as you have been told for the 100th time.

I am also not discussing what type of stick to use, or which monitor is best, which is also a part of becoming a good player. Why? Because these things are also not relevant to strategy.

Ok so lets look:

You refuse to define the term strategy so somebody can get an idea of what the fuck you’re babbling about.

You keep arguing about tactics and execution even though you have been told every fucking single post I was never talking about that.

You maintain that online and offline is the same even though you were told by top players that it wasn’t.

Yeah you’re not a troll.

Anyway, back on topic -

Does Tokido have a custom title now? What does it say?

Lol @ 1:40.

Quality is crap, can’t read the kanjis :E

WTF happened there?

Does this help?

http://tinypic.com/r/w89fuw/5

It looked like Makoto… dashed forward (towards the right corner)?

Looking at her input it’s 2x back so he backdashed, but looking at the vid in slo-mo, she actually turns toward right since Tokido crossed her over with the Tatsu.

Dunno if he read it or went for chip, maybe the thing would’ve crossed her up?

Sadly no, it’s actually worse since I can’t even get the outline of the characters there.

Fairly sure though the second character of the title is “shiki”, from “Tokido shiki”, that’s how they call the vortex.

At about 0:27 you can basically read “the creator of Tokido shiki”.

「ときど」の生みの親

what it says is 「ときど」式 産みみの親

you have the wrong kanji, but your translation is basically accurate, like founder of the vortex.

where does it say his custom title? if you mean at 1:36, then hell…yeah it’s too blurry to read.

Oo, fun. After years of seeing his informed and informative posts, I recently played LoyalSol’s Akuma for the first time in the PJS lobby, and while it was just a few online matches on one night, I am confident in saying he’s one of the best Akumas I’ve played, and I’ve played a lot of great ones.

I’m looking forward to setting aside some time to watch these matches and I’ll post some comments, too, if they are wanted.

And god damn dr4gz0r, you brought the analysis in that post! Good stuff… need more posts like that on these boards… less “what character should I main” and tier bitching and more hardcore vide analysis.

Sako giving Akuma a spin.

I just watched the first match… LOL @ the fadc red fireball and whiffed ex tatsu, jump in, combo, KO.

Also LOL at the prospect of Daigo AND Sako maining Akuma. I realize there’s zero reason AFAIK to think Sako is switching, but hey (think he said he’s happy with Ibuki).

Sako going back o his SF4 roots.

Here’s a question, why is Team Hori Sako wearing a Madcatz shirt and using a Madcatz stick?

Sako copying Fuma’s cl.st fp anti air skills :stuck_out_tongue:

Isn’t the person on the stream the Boxer player, though? Anyway, I assumed that since Sako wasn’t at Evo that the whole Hori sponsorship deal has faded away.

I’m not counting but it seems like he’s got a 98% success rate on sweep so far.

I really am in no position to critique Tokido, but … dude really needs to start anti-airing. >_>

cardell is actually my roommate and we train on the daily.
i employ most of you to play him on XBL as he knows the akuma matchup pretty well.
i personally think he’s better than TOI, as cardell is a smarter player.
i think TOI does a lot of random overly-aggressive things. more often then not, i find my OS c.mp tech beating out his random hazans and walk up shenanigans.

alternatively, you might want to look at cardell vs. infiltration if you wanna see how this matchup can be dominated by akuma.
i was told infiltration did nothing special, except outspace him with just sweep and he could not do anything. this was just at SB i hope i can find the video.

I think cardell did good considering his opponent and the matchup.

That aside: how exactly do you beat Chun just with sweeps? I mean if both players are about equally skilled when it comes to footsies, there’s no way Akuma should be winning with that alone :E

Would be great to see the vid anyway!
