We already defeated Sheng-long! The Akuma Video Thread

Maybe in 3s. But from the looks of it he didn’t make a good transition at all.

What are you talking about?

Why do you demon flip out of hit confirmed combo opportunities? Just playing it safe to make sure you don’t miss a link against Geif and get SPD’d or maybe just assumed that he would block and he didn’t? Just wondering if you did that on purpose or not, and if so why.

I’m just curious because I rarely do resets but should probably add them to my game. The thing with resets though, is that a lot of players like to mash a reversal SRK or whatever their char can do on you. Is part of your game to train them that you’re always going to demon flip or attack out of a reset and then later on bait the AA (or reversal) and punish it for the win?

Edit: I guess I better get literate or something because I now see the answer to my second question quoted below me…

Yep if they fail to adapt it isn’t a bad thing to use it. I am just a little surprised he didn’t pick up on it at all. He just kind of stood there and took it.

That bad, huh? Well, thanks for your feedback.

I do kindof a similar thing but it’s probably less effective. When my demon flip gets get blocked I try to train the opponent that I am always going to throw them out of it. I’ll keep doing it until they tech the throw or hit me with a reversal, and by this time it’s later in the match. Late in the game when they block a demon flip kick I’ll just follow it up with SRK and Focus Cancel if by chance they actually block it.

What ShinAkuma does seems to be a safer and more universally usable tactic though, I’m going to start employing that a little myself maybe in addition to my little throw thing to be less predictable.

that reset was a thing of beauty. once he got in, EH was destroyed.

I really didn’t expect that he would eat some of those dive kicks.

This is true. However in Gief’s case his reversal is to mash lariat, which loses to demonflip. Hence why I used it so much.

That is part of the plan. However if you know you are playing an overly mashing player you can demonflip behind them off the first combo to bait a dp, then punish. Do this a couple of times and they will usually stop.

Going from 3rd Strike to Street Fighter 4.

It did not go well for him.

I thought it was pretty obvious.

Go well for who?

Oops. I apologize, was referring to JR Rodriguez. Not you.

That’s what I get for half-ass reading shit on my phone while playing Casuals. I’m an idiot.

Anyway, after playing ruiN-'s Boxer and Ryu, I’ve come to hate these two with a passion.

It makes a lot more sense to me now that I’ve gone into training mode and tried to execute demon flip canceling out of cHP after a dive kick – it’s too hard to hit confirm because you are already doing the demon flip motion when you are executing the cHP. By the time you see that the dive kick actually hit when you expected it to be blocked it’s pretty much too late to cancel into LK tatsu instead of LK dive kick.

That leads me to the question of what motion do you use to cancel out of cHP into Demon Flip after a dive kick? Maybe I am inputting the cHP xx LK Demon Flip inefficiently which is making it more difficult to pull off.

I think the other reason I’m having trouble is that my muscle memory is conditioned to think that if I go for a Dive Kick -> cHP then I must certainly have EX demon flipped over a fireball and must be canceling that cHP into LK tatsu.

Could someone explain this combo/chain of events @ 3:06?

Demon Flip > HP > Fireball > FADC > HP > Fireball > FADC > HP

He looped the combo basically.

A little strange he didn’t follow it up with further hits unless he messed up the timing. He could have kept that combo going to at least a BnB.

He should just added a bnb combo at the end of the fadc

He messed up

I thought so as well. If he was going for a reset the demon flip would have been used.

need more videos!!!
