We already defeated Sheng-long! The Akuma Video Thread

Seeing that you are the best player on this forum.
Could u explain more how to implement diversifying your gameplay?
Also, could u elaborate on ground/air fb mixup and how to succesfully apply it?

Here’s a match I happened accross last week showcasing Gamogo who’s my 2nd most favorite Akuma player after Momochi. This is a good video to go along with the Bison matchup tips he just posted up on the Critique thread.

BONUS:

Here are also two of my matches in Ranked Online from today:

It’s nothing amazing, but I thought some of you may get a kick (or “palm”) out of it…

Premise: I only watched the first video.

I think that Gamogo is a really good player, BUT

…Honestly that video was an example of how you SHOULD NOT play against Bison…poorly spaced and timed air fireballs he could slide under to punish, LOADS of missed combo opportunities (went for a throw instead, or at least tried to), punishable teleports, unnecessary demon flips all over (bison can jump mp x2 ultra ALL of those c.mk xx flip and s.hp xx flip), whiffed normals (c.hp is like -20000) that bison didn’t punish, missed option selects (whiffed j.hk into hk tatsu)

I’ve seen many really good matches by Gamogo and I really respect him as ak akuma player, this cerainly isn’t a match woth posting and/or a match someone should watch if looking for bison matchup expereince. Anyone playing a decent bison would get slaughtered with all those demon flips. To sum it up, that bison was a total scrub, otherwirse he’d probably have won without having to sweat.

Hope I didn’t sound too rude, was just trying to give advice.

EDIT Quick tip vs balrog: NEVER start your match with shaku…all decent balrogs will start the match with a charged TAP (just in case…) and throwing a shaku (even lp version) is just asking to get hit…and you don’t want to give balrog a life advantage since he’s so good at turtling

I don´t understand the tatsu option select. Isn´t it way too risky?

agreed. i didn’t want to post anything because i’ve seen gamogo post some quality information and videos. but that replay was not good and should not be referred to for matchup advice.

it’s actually the best one vs bison but you have to input it correctly. He probably messed up the input (maybe due to lag?) in that video.

Agreed, this wasn’t the best match I’ve seen him play, but I liked the way he turned it around in the 2nd & 3rd rounds. Although this isn’t the “perfect” showcase of how to play a Bison, it does show him trying the OS Tatsu he was talking about in the Critique thread so I thought it would be appropriate if only to see it applied in both the good and bad way (it gets beaten by Ultra pretty badly in the first).

As for the 'Rog player, I’ve played against him before. He usually plays it safe, turtles a lot and tries to bait for counter hits (as you probably saw in that video). I took a chance and was willing to pay the price if I guessed wrong. The last match we had he beat me pretty badly while I walked backwards pretty much the entire match. If I had been playing a better player, I would have NEVER begun my match with a shakunetsu. Funny anecdote: the Shaku that tagged him at the end of round 1 was actually a TP back that I flubbed somehow…

well I’ve seen him do 2 or 3 seemingly random headbutts (or maybe he “knew” you were about to press a button, but those are risky as hell) and multiple ex rush punches from 3/4 to half screen, didn’t look like he was playing it “safe” =). He could have been punished badly for all of those…especially the 2 times you were jumping back and he did the ex rushes…you could have j.hk him on your way down into c.mp/c.mk > full combo into sweep. Or at least j.hk > sweep. Also gotta molest balrog a lot more on his wakeup, there is really nothing you should fear when he’s knocked down. Try being more aggressive on wakeup next time you play him and maybe post the results. You could also try to use focus attack more…I noticed he was going for the sweep 90% of the times after a few crouching jabs. You can absorb and crumple him to land a full bnb. Good job anyways

Yeeeeeeeaaaaaah… That “random” headbutt kinda threw me off in the first round and I went all turtly for a while there. I don’t use FA too much in my game except to absorb projectiles or build Ultra meter when I can. I should work on incorporating FA crumples into my game, but I have so many fundamentals to work on first… I’m slowly getting it ingrained to do 3 x cr.LP into BnB in my matches. I’ve finally stopped relying on cr. MK xx Hado for block strings. And I’m now trying to incorporate harder hitting combos like st.HP xx Hado, FADC, st. HP (or cr. MP) xx EX tatsu, HP SRK into my game.

So yeah, still a lot of work to do, but I’m happy with how this match went in general! And I’m slowly getting back to 5K BP so it’s not all bad! Thanks for the compliment!

J/w which is the best tatsu OS at stuffing most of bisons options? lk, mk, hk?

Agreed, that match was an atrocious effort from my behalf xD

I’m pretty certain this was the match that made me realise my OS was a complete mess combined with my Bison experience being borderline non existent. I think this is 2 - 3 weeks old which is what spurred me to ask a bunch in the match-up thread about Bison’s ins and outs recently.

Really nice, I especially liked the end of the 2nd round. Doom was really mindfucked in r1

One hour of -6’s Akuma. Enjoy

11:10 - Wat. FADC S.RH, hao? Isn’t that impossible, or merely a case of tedious spacing?

Merely a case of spacing. Definitely not reliable enough. He was probably just fucking around.

Btw, on most “normal” sized characters (shotos, rose, sakura, fei etc etc) you can do c.mp c.lp c.mp hado FADC s.rh and it’ll work 100% of the times…doesn’t even look hard if you plink…I still don’t see many uses for it tho.

I suppose it’s a way to force stand, but doesn’t seem that useful to me too (would scale like shit).

Some matches vs a pretty good Guy

LOL @ the tape on ur screen, was it that italian guy?

Thanks for the find man! -6 is truly amazing, he has such a unique play style, he’s quickly becoming my next favorite Akuma after Tokido…sorry Eita. :frowning:
