yun is simply embarassing…how can his fucking dp be so safe if he whiffs because someone tried to crossup? that shit is stupid and so is ex lunge. Hsien literally spammed it for the whole tournament, what a braindead character.
You player very well Adeel, if anything you could/should have punished more wakeup backdashes. Also imho a lil’ too much jumping vs. ryu, I was expecting better anti airs from someone as og as john choi.
Lollo u wanna do that shi tonight?
With Rufus nerf in AE Capcom had to give those Rufus players a replacement character.
Haha, he really is full of shit, I agree. I find it hilarious that Daigo mains him. I really want to see more of that in action because Yun in the hands of average players is a god damn handful in itself. But with Daigo driving? gg.
I don’t know if i’ll be online tonight, i might log for 1 hour before dinner tho…around 18:30 - 19:00. Sadly I haven’t been able to play much in the last 4 months…like 2 days a week for a few hours max =(. Between working and gf it’s getting really hard to find as much time as i’d like to have to play fighting games. I bought Marvel 1 week before release and played it for like…3 hours in 1 month? lol.
I’m sure we’ll meet again sometimes, I noticed you were almost always online whenever i logged =) c ya!
lol!
This is sad but true…yun looks even easier than vanilla Rufus…a multi angle divekick with loads of hit/block stun, a COMMAND GRAB (lol), easy damaging/stunning hit confirms, a spammable ex move that breaks armour, combos into ultra and gets you in from full screen (just in case your footsies and spacing were SO BAD that you couldn’t get in with dive kicks in the first place)…did i mention both of his ultras are really good and his reversal is almost completely safe on whiff and not even easy to punish on block? Oh, godlike backdash and GJ.
Why didn’t they give him a teleport while they were at it.
Just lol.
Yeah, that character makes me not want to play AE. I actually prefer console Super because of Yun alone. Tokido feels the same way.
Which nerfs hit Rufus? All I can remember is U2 (and yet lots of people go U1, that thing was just too much if you ask me) and -20 damage on Messiah.
The funny thing is that he mentioned he’d switch to Yun even before the twins were out in the arcades. Maybe there’s some deepthroats in Capcom, lol.
I took a quick look at the frame data, at the very least he cannot combo his cr.MP from crouching shorts and jabs (+4 on hit, cr.MP has 5f startup) and the same goes for his fierce and roundhouse moves.
How’s the upkick safe on whiff? I saw him get away lots of time, but it looked like there’s actually time to do something…
From what I have heard his damage has been tweaked. So basically he does less damage overall.

I think you should work on your footsies more. At least in the Balrog matchup, you’re relying too much on close range and okizeme to win. Walk in and out of Balrog’s ranges and whiff punish almost anything with sweep and zone out dashing straights with crouching forward. Combined with the vortex you won’t take as much damage and play safer. I noticed you took too much random damage as a result.
Use your ground fireballs more from safe ranges. You’re not creating any ground-mixups for the Balrog player to take any guesses on his ground game. Zoning with air/ground fireballs and normals is crucial.
Rog is weak to Akuma Okizeme and strong in footsies. I play to the strength of the matchup.
The damage I took in the first set was my fault. I gave away too much damage with sloppy play and poor choices. Once the bracket got reset I tightened up the gameplan.
My mix up comes from my in close pressure. The fireball game is not to zone him, but to open up a chance to get in. I play more aggressive than zone for the most part and my matches will reflect that.
I understand what you are saying, but your gameplan is not my gameplan in this matchup.
GGs to mooiboyroy, great matches. Hope to play vs your friend’s sakura soon!
You can post the vids if you like
Haha, I was playing Sencer before you so I was expecting random DF’s all day.
Ok u raped me I raped u, next time we do a ft5 im gonna post it.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t play the strengths of the matchup, but the reason to diversify is so that your main game plan becomes easier to implement. Since you’re only using the strongest method of attack in this matchup, the Balrog will look for it and try to counter it as much as possible. By putting just a little more emphasis on your defensive strengths, it’ll be easier to use your offensive tools in the match when it’s critical, and it will be difficult for the opponent to adjust to.
That’s just my opinion anyway based off my experience, you’re welcome to play as you feel comfortable.
The thing is, the Akuma mirror is so random that unless one of the two is THAT much stronger (read: chocolillo) it’s always impossible to tell who’s gonna win.
Of course if you’re playing an idiot demon flipping all day it’s gonna be easy but if both akuma’s play solid and don’t jump (and all akuma’s like to jump like fucking rabbits), it all goes down to who can read teleports better and who gets luckier with his vortex. Even playing footsies in the akuma mirror is somewhat random with that s.hk.
Wonder how that Sencer dude made all those PPs…obviously points don’t really mean shit since it’s a grindfest anyways (especially BPs) but one would expect a good player seeing all those points. All those dumb s.hp xx flip and c.mk xx flip flip flip must work really well in ranked lol. I wonder when people will realize that a simple neutral jump + any button shuts that shit down completely. Hopefully soon.
Anyways, it was a pleasure to play with you. See you next time, hopefully i’ll be able to play before the weekend. not sure tho =(
If you notice I use palm strike more than any other attack. Rog cannot counter this on his wake up. I approach the match in this fashion so that the risk is on him to defend himself and not on me while attacking. I can then gauge how the Rog in question will react. Also consider that I have experience against this player and know how to play against him as well as the matchup.
In his Final Round interview he said the game isnt all that popular in Japan for that reason.

Tokido took it in the singles, Alioune in the team tournament. What a beast, definitely impossible to keep him out
