I think U1 or U2 are perfectly fine against Rog and really depends on what you want to make safer. Do you want the ability to cancel a normal if you see TAP or armored rushes or do you want the ability to cancel teleports? Both options have their pros and cons in the match up. U2 works better in wake up situations (Both his and yours) while U1 works better for standing situations.
That’s exactly what I think. I’m actually varying both ultras against balrogs. Works great and makes you kind of unpredictable. It also depends on how does the rog react or play while standing. If he is conservative, U2 works the best. If he is reckless, U1 is more suitable. That’s what I think.
Sorry but i didn’t watch the whole video. I did enjoy the part that i watched, but I think it would be better if you edited out the whole demon animation as it gets pretty tedious after 2 times. Maybe cut every demon after the ‘die onethousand deaths’ part or even a bit after the ultra flash, the moment he grabs his opponent? Just my opinion though.
U need permission to upload Gootecks’ matches? ‘yawns’ Please. No further comment. So let’s play some so you can get my permission too. Curious. Did you get permission to upload others’ game footage. Yeah, that’s what I thought. lol
Why would you need to ask him, upload it anyway. I’ve gotten matches in with LAMERBOI and Valle I plan on uploading them without their permission. They are no different than us, people all the same
Yea actually I usually send people a text on Xbox live as a curiosity. I am not doing anything different for Gootecks that I wouldn’t do for everyone else.
It’s like asking a father to marry his daughter. You could still do it even if the father says yes or no, but you do it anyways out of respect.
In 7:02 of part 3 he just does a dive kick on knockdown that Ryu blocks, then he does an uppercut tech trap. Recheck the timing of what you’re referring to.
Focus crumple > wait until just after Ryu drops to his knees from the crumple > c.mp xx mk demon flip dive kick
This will ALWAYS cross him up. It is a reset from the crumple however, so use should be minimised. When you reset the crumple after the drop to their knees, the subsequent hit will be considered an aerial attack. The mk flip positions perfectly and must be blocked as a cross-up.
Two:
cs.hp xx lk tatsu > cs.mp xx mk demon flip dive kick
As above. A reset, however the dive kick will always cross-up and must be blocked correctly.
Three:
c.lk > cs.lk > c.mk xx mk demon flip > perform dive kick just as you are becoming level with Ryu’s head. The dive kick will cross-up.
Option one is kinda handy in that resetting from a focus can catch people off-guard as they are expecting a monster (free) combo to follow. Focus crumples scale subsequent combos heavily, so the reset into cross-up dive kick is a nice way to max out damage by surprise.
Resets VS Ryu are risky, so use common sense.
I haven’t tried these setups VS other chars so I’d be curious to see how they fare against the rest of the cast.
Off the FA reset #1 - What combos would recrumple a Ryu after the original FA? I am wondering if it would be possible to get big damage combowise, recrumple, and then set him up with the cross up dive kick reset.
If it can be done it could lead to massive damage.
If combos into crumples were known of we would have been able to conclude that “U1 is comboable”. We explored it a bit in vanilla with X to fireball FA cancel. The result is that it can be done, but is extremely tight and specific.
You can look up some “Akuma XX hit combo” on youtube and someone will have some footage of them doing a huge combo and finishing off with the right spacing for fireball, FA crumple, Demon.
The easy way is to hit with ex air fireball then FA for the crumple.
I’ll run these through training when I have some spare time. I don’t like the sound of #3 because he can screw with the spacing by walking forward or back ahead of time (while you’re in the air).
Can Ryu intercept these with DPs? and if not, can he dash under them?
From what I established in the lab: any reset xx demon flip can be lp.srk’d into U1. Even worse is that you can easily react to it, you can’t properly bait ryu into it. The risk is really high on those setups.
Definitely good discoveries, I just wish they worked on someone else in the cast, I’ll have to give it a go and see what happens.
