Have to admit, the producers did a good job of making aj looking like a complete loser and making me want him out of the competition asap
and then they delivered and he got knocked out in the most skilllfulllll game of all, mario kart
So whats the story on DSP anyways? I keep seeing his name pop up all the time whenever the discussion of fighting games comes up on random forums.
DSP’s a guy who loudly records himself playing various games.
DSP has problems with his back, so he probably couldn’t even get into the show.
Swinging from ropes has everything to do with video games. who knew?!
I would love to get on this, just to start shit. lol
Oh man, I just got around to watching week 2. Wong was spot on with his analysis of AJ.
Ugh, I would have scrubbed out like a motherfucker on the 3-point challenge of Wii Sports Resort. Fucking Wii.
LOL Sebastian brought out the blackness there at the end.
Do some research bro, every single one of those girls except Rachel is well known in the gaming scene and has been around for years, they love gaming. Faye shows up at a ton of FG tournaments and plays games religiously (as you can tell from the show). Kat and Vanessa are both top DoA players and play in tournaments constantly just like Faye, Kat’s entire immediate family is involved in gaming in one way or another, she was raised into games by them. Both Kat and Vanessa were also in the CGS, Kat managed a team and Vanessa played for her team. Their entire lives revolve around gaming.
I’ll give you Rachel, I’ve never heard of her in my life and she doesn’t seem like she truly likes gaming that much. But the other 3 have been in the gaming community for years and absolutely adore it.
Well first of all, compared to 99% of reality shows there is VERY little drama involved when it comes to this show, but what drama there is is there in order to help appeal to audiences who aren’t gamers. I 100% guarantee you that the producers knew about the Kat/Vanessa feud before the casting was finalized, and outside of them what drama is there? AJ and Faye? Not really drama.
As for JWong seeing the girls as a threat, this is a general gaming competition my good man, JWong ONLY plays fighting games, so why wouldn’t he see people who specialize in other genres as a threat? There is only one episode of the show where fighting games are featured except for possibly the finale where they play an abundance of games. Kat for one is at least modestly good in just about every genre, and I’m willing to bet the best racing game player out of everyone there.
You’re treating the entire thing like it’s just a FG competition, and really less than like, 10% of it is about FGs. JWong could get put into a racing or sports game elimination against one of the girls or one of the sports game playing guys, you really think he’s going to win that? Yeah, didn’t think so.
Again, only like 1/6 of the players there specialize in fighting games, the rest probably have never touched an FG in their lives, so why would you ever expect to see high or even medium calibre gameplay out of them in a genre they don’t play?
I’m not arguing the show is scripted, it very likely is to a point (as are 99% of reality shows), but the eliminations are very likely not scripted, and here’s the reasoning behind this. In season 1, the hottest girl on the show got knocked out in like, episode 2, and the second hottest was episode 1 or 3 I forget which. The whole 90% of the time matches going to 4-4 or 1-1 or what have you is probably scripted, but at least the last round is definitely not.
Why would they set the show up to eliminate AJ, one of the only people causing the “drama” you love so much, and the only stereotypical gamer? Sebastian would have been a much more likely candidate to eliminate.
And last season the final 4 contestants were ALL guys and they started with 4 girls, but good try brah.
you realize I posted that after the 1st episode right?
omg essay.
This show is lulz
stop watching terrible shows cal
Some of you guys are confused here.
Vanessa “Vanessa” Arteaga played DoA4 for San Francisco Optx
The manager of the San Francisco Optx was Kat Hunter
Katherine “Mystik” Gunn played DoA4 for Carolina Core
Kat Hunter and Katherine Gunn are different people! Kat (“Mystik”) was a player, not a manager.
This show got me interested in season 1. Season 2 is much better. Season 1 has way too much emo drama and the players are even worse imo. Justin is a much better representation for asians than the crazy guy from the first season.
And your point is? Everything you said was written as though you were speaking about the show in general, not that episode specifically, and the points still hold up.
You need to calm down there brother. No need to so defensive. It ain’t good for your aura. I did say things that were specific to that episode and a man’s impression can change with time. Let’s consider what possible information someone might gain from one time to the next. Is it not possible for things to change, or must they stay the same? Also seems weird to bring up something specific about the second episode when it regarded to first impressions.
Thanks. I usually go to sleep mad early weekdays and wake up after the show is over.
I would like to know the full results, where can I see it?
Think about this:
Does Justin or Faye have a butt ton of Samsung products stuffed in their house?
Either way, this show’s a joke (goddamn stating the obvious). Though, I do want Crackpr0n to audition for next season just to see what would happen…
The final two contestants will play this September. That’s why results aren’t public yet.
