Hey Sano. That Lord Vega guy was politely requesting to me to ask you if you could get him a colored version of that Gill Kolin pic, if the book is in color. Eh.

Nah, that page is in black and white. Due to the sketchiness of the drawing and considering the book has color pages I doubt a colored version of that Pic exists.

Ah, okay, thanks!

I got Capcom Illustrations from animebooks.com today. I think it’s a pirate reprint since the pages are very thin and the cover seems kind of fuzzy. Oh well, it’s a huge bunch of art anyway and they were out of the Eternal Challenge book.

It’s definitely a reprint, beware!

Anyway, I checked that Shadaloo base picture and it’s the exact same one as the one in the SF RPG. In the expansion book Secrets of Shadaloo you get the same picture without all the descriptions obscuring it. I still wouldn’t say that it’s official, probably just something that they cooked up for the RPG…

Which makes it difficult to justify AAC based on the fact that the exclusive cover appeared in an official Capcom artbook… oh well.

Yea, I’ve heard that Capcom did several artworks for the white wolf RPG. But in SF Eternal, the Shadaloo Base pic is labelled as a Street Fighter 2 artwork, not an artwork done for the white wolf RPG, unless there’s something in the Japanese beyond the English words, ā€œStreet Fighter 2ā€, I’m missing. …go go confusion.

Alternatively, maybe AAC has the pic just because it’s also part art-book, and there’s a disclaimer with it (that we can’t read because it’s in Japanese, of course) that says it’s not official or doesn’t mean anything? Another alternative is that the pic IS official and was not made for the White Wolf RPG, but the White Wolf RPG asked Capcom if they could use it and have it in Secrets of Shadaloo.

…but then again, I could have sworn the artworks Capcom did for the WW RPG were like… either from the US branch or the Brazilian Branch if I recall correctly. But Street Fighter Eternal Challenge here clearly states that the Shadaloo base pic was done by Akiman, himself…

Tell me what page they’re on in AAC and Eternal and I’ll translate what they say

Hey Saiki, thanks! Well, I don’t have AAC, but in SF Eternal, the Shadaloo base pic is on page 106. And… I’ve been wondering who the heck this weirdo in the top hat, suit, and with the scar is on this same page. There sure as heck is an awful lot of art of the guy on this page (3 out of 6 of the arts have him, the other 3 being the Shadaloo base, Shadaloo satellite, and Shadaloo insignia). He like… a monitor cyborg or something? He’s shown in a variety of costumes… and what’s with the pic of him and the underwear? Oo

On a really random note, on the very next page is that ugly Ryu xx Chun-Li pic. And I think I’ve found the cause of Ryu’s ugly expression.

She probably doesn’t know it as she puts her hand on his chest, but Chun-Li’s spike bracelet is piercing Ryu’s arm and causing it to bleed

In the picture in the Secrets of Shadoloo, any details aren’t present, but in the other pages, they explain all and probably mistranslated very things.
But in the Secrets of Shadaloo only the island is showed. White Wolf created the name Mriganka and make the island a country of Bison to grew up the plot (Bison used the mind control in the guys of United Nations to make his country legal).
Buts the original (Japanese) version is more cool!

The picture isn’t in AAC, but in Capcom Illustrations and apparently Eternal. It’s not in Design Works either, if you wondered.

Hey… are there any other major Capcom artbooks except CI, EC and DW?

I’d say those are the major books, aside from books based on the Animes. 3 for the SF2 Movie (One in color, one without but more artwork, one just about Chun-Li in that Movie), and one on SF2V. Well, those are the ones I got anyways, not sure if there’s one on the SFZ Anime.

Only other Art Book I can think of is one released right after SF3 NG based on that game, but it features 0.00% new Street Fighter 3 Artwork and the same character Art and Stage Art you’ve seen many times before. Even though the book suggests in English that ā€œThis is for Street Fighter Fans Everywhereā€ I strongly suggest not purchasing it if you happen to come across it.

Sigh. I know it’s in this thread somewhere, but this thread is so friggin’ BIG that I doubt I’d be able to find it. So hopefully someone else remembers better than me. I’m pretty sure Saiki confirmed the two adults in this attached arcade flier to be Sakura’s parents, but who was the biker girl again? Was she a rejected earlier version of Sakura or something? I forget. She looks sorta like Akira, though, which made me look into things some more and find out that in the Rival Schools Drama CD, Akira had a boyfriend who was previously from Sakura’s school (though I doubt the CD itself is canon. There are some conflicts in it with the RS storyline) and I can’t find anything on which school Akira herself was from before she went to Gedo, so I was wondering if it was Sakura’s.

Does All About Capcom say anything about where Akira used to go before going to Gedo?

…eh.

Well, I did find this nifty translation FAQ for Project Justice’s board game, though there isn’t anything specifically Sakura related that I could find (I like some of the storylines in this thing, though).

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/dreamcast/file/project_justice_board_translations.txt

(copy and paste if you want to read it)

Ran Hibiki actually says ā€œYa-Hoā€ in celebration to you delivering something for her according to this translation guide. I wonder if there’s any chance that that could be translated as ā€œYahooā€ā€¦

EDIT

Nope, apparently not. Just got it from a friend that the chances of someone mistranslating Yahoo as Ya-Ho are pretty slim. Unless Capcom of America mistranslated it as Yahoo all along or something weird like that

Oops. Sakura pic is at this link

http://www.arcadeflyers.com/index.php?page=flyerdb&subpage=flyer&id=1779&image=5

EDIT

…wow, this arcade flyer site has a lot of crap I’ve never seen before. I really should have browsed around more last time I was directed to it There seems to be a map of Sakura’s house, for crying out loud Oo

Just thought I’d give some additional input of mine from another thread about Zeku’s prediction (as well Guy’s placement on the tier-chart for the hell of it):

I know that take on the prophecy sounds kinda silly, but I’m just saying it could stand for something more meaningful such as Guy’s involvement with Bison and not so much his own directive to take him down. Poetically, Bison was the threat to the world that rose, and Guy was the shadow that followed it when he came to the aid of Rose. Even Guy himself didn’t suspect that simply defeating it was what Zeku meant, going by what he says in his bio. No matter how you look at it, reviving Bison as Rose was something vital to occur.

Perhaps he felt guilty and disappeared somewhere to meditate on it?

Well, in SF eternal, it only says that the Shadowloo pic and the weird guy pics are from a SF mook poster. Doesnt say anything else.

And yea, the biker chic is a scrapped character design.

AAC doesnt say what school Akira used to goto b4 either.

VERY OT - Just got the word from Iggy at MMcafe that CFAS has officially been cancelled. Well, I started writing a Fan Fic for it over at Gamefaqs to keep the interest going for the game until new info came out. Anyway, if you want to read what I wrote before the CFAS Board dissapears, go to -

http://www.gamefaqs.com/

In the Search Area, type in ā€œCapcom Fighting All Stars,ā€ go to the Arcade Board and you’re there. I’d Post a Direct Link but that never seems to work for me whenever I try to Post a Link to Gamefaqs here. Well, had fun writing the Fic and will continue until the CFAS Board completely dissapears.

Why not just bring the fic over here?

Yeah, maybe I’ll type up what I have so far here, and give the people at Gamefaqs a Link where they can read it and just continue. I suppose that’s the best I could do before the CFAS Boards at Gamefaqs are completely gone. Thanks!

Next time, I’ll wait until the freaking U.S. release of a game is out before I start another Fic, but I honestly thought Capcom was reworking the game but surprise, surprise.

Thanks, Saiki! Well, guess I can continue with finishing up this next update, now. I’ll send it to Sieg, too, when I’m done. Maybe I’ll go and check through the various characters and see what order they rank in according to Juni’s ratings just for curiosity’s sake (will have to improvise a little on some but eh). …muahahaha, fear how powerful the Dolls are.

Poor CFAS. I still think it would have done better as a 2D fighting game, considering that’s where the majority of the characters had their roots come from. Although initial reports were bad and I still think the roster was way too small for a game that was titled ā€œAll Starsā€, the game had potential. Sadly, I suppose lots of things that fail in this world did. :frowning:
