Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

Fei Long is being voice by Matthew Mercer in the english dub. Matthew Mercer has done english dubbing for the following animes.

1 Street Fighter Zero

2 The Big O

3 Trigun

4 Cowboy bebop

5 Akira

6 Fist of the North Star

I don’t know about that. Capcom of Japan seems to have a habit of treating the console-exclusive versions of their Street Fighter games as lesser products, at least judging by All About Capcom and how marginalized the coverage of console-exclusive games or versions like EX Plus Alpha, EX3, RBOF and Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2 are compared to the arcade versions. The only exception is when the console versions are identical, with the only difference being extra characters (like ZERO 3).

Not to mention Eternal Challenge, uses the Super SF2 X endings rather than the Revival versions.

Not that it matters, since only a couple of endings in Revival are actually different from their arcade counterparts.

That’s because its the same actor. Tessho Genda voiced Guile in SF2TAM, SF2V, and the SFEX series. He’s better known as the Japanese voice dub of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Greatest Guile joke period. Must’ve laughed for 5 minutes straight!!!

siegfried,

the latest 1up preview says the animated prologues and endings are cheap, stiff, unoriginal and lame. What would you say abt the animated cutscenes? do u think only the fans will like them ?

i am so excited abt them but these reveiwers make sound that they are bad.

This is from the OPM Review, the reviewer also hates the anime cutscnes

ā€œhe narrative cutscenes are rivaled only by under-funded Saturday morning cartoons in terms of quality (though you’re totally in the wrong genre if you’re looking for storyā€

Cmon siegfired tell me they are awesome and those people dont know what they are talking abt.

i am really shocked, especially after watching the first sf4 animated trailer and the chun-li animated trailer since i thought they looked great, and nothing compared to any american cartoon. for me they had that anime series feeling, like naruto and others.

yeah i read the 1up preveiw too and it seems to me they were talking studio 4c’s art style and animtation.personally i think stuido’s 4c’s art style looks very good from the trailers i seen. i think it has a uquiness to. as for the animation from looking at the trailers i have to say it’s pretty good.

edit: So yeah it’s opion on the art style and animation. if street fighter IV in game anime was big budget like SF2 the animated movie or CGI 1up would be praising it. oh and the sat comment is just too b.s. just because the charcters arent’ super detail doesn’t mean it look bad. as for the genre comment that’s a jab at fighting games as a whole. the genre they mostly likey compare into was the RPG genre and MGS4

which is unfair how can a fighting game compete with something that has 2 hour + cutscenes. MGS4 cutscenes are effin long. it is more movie than it is game

i liked the way of the 1up staff says it he said while they are cheezy he is glad capcom put them in.

i really hope capcom will put anime cutscenes in all their future street fighter games really.

i think OPM are really exagerating by calling the cutscenes saturday morning cartoon quality.

*Yo! **Vasili *dude have anyone notice the stage o sakura the one in the bridge its the same with an art fromCAPCOM DESIGN WORKS

is that the same location?

I just posted it 2 month ago

Oh, they are bad. Possibly slightly above morning cartoon quality but way worse than both SF Alpha and SFtAM. The content is ok (as already noted, there are loads of little cool details) but the actual performance is yucky. Remains to be seen if reviewers will generally just ignore it or call them out for it (as happened with Mirror’s Edge).

While I’m not sure that the ink effect style would work for cut scenes (you really DON’T see what’s happening in the intro), even pre-animated in-game models would have been much better.

As for the bosses, I can’t unlock them right now so that info will have to wait until release, I’m afraid.

oh wow :frowning:

when you say performance do you mean the voice acting or animation?

so they are not like the animated trailers (ryu vs gouki and chunli’s aftermath) shown last year, coz i thought that they rocked.

Animation. It’s really, really simple.

so it is not the same quality of the Ryu vs gouki animated trailer nor the chunli animated trailer ?

And that’s what’s wrong with the gaming market. Glad I’m not the only one that recognizes this.

well i wasnt expecting sf2 animated movie quality. that could not happen, SF2AM was a BIG budget theatrical movie.

i for one liked street fighter alpha generations a lot (and hated street fighter alpha movie) i dont think the street fighter IV cutscenes are worse than alpha generations, i mean it is very hard to go below that lol but i like different styles and what i saw from the gouki vs ryu anime fight from the trailer looked effing good.

Siegfried (one last question lol sorry dude) i just would like to know how the anime cutscnes from the game compare to the ryu vs gouki sfIV animated trailer (this one ) are they the same style coz i really digg that trailer A LOT

EDIT: Finally something positive about the anime cutscenes from gamespot new hand’s on preview: "The version of the game we played was running on the Xbox 360, which is where we spent the bulk of our playtime. We hopped into the arcade mode to start trying the new faces and got to watch the anime intros for each of the characters. The sequences are of modest length and offer some context on why each particular fighter is getting involved. Most of the videos stay true to the known lore of the fighters’ motivations, and even Dan Hibiki’s hilarious intro is accurate for the lovable loser."

I hope the cut-scenes are not as bad as the animation of Street Fighter Alpha: Generations, which was possibly the most unwatchable piece of SF media I’ve ever seen.

Wow. I wasn’t aware that it was the same actor. Yeah that’s what Guile sounds like to me in my head. Course watching SF2TAM about 100 times or more will do that.

I haven’t seen Generations, but make no mistake, this looks bad.

The trailers for the game with the heavy ink effects are something COMPLETELY different. This looks like very low quality anime.

Eternal omits quite a few things including several SSF2X endings. It does an incomplete character ending evolution based on the arcade editions, and then ā€œso to show you we ourselves haven’t forgotten about him even though we included no character section for him, here’s Gill’s first ending too.ā€ Makes no difference. Ignorance fails to equal denial.

I’ve noticed The_Shakunetsu; it looks to be the same, and that’s all we can go on for now since until SF4 it’s been a nameless location first depicted for a drama CD.

New trailer up on CJ’s SF4 site: Sakura vs Ryu (with intro subs)

http://www.capcom.co.jp/sf4/trailer/

Sakura: ā€œEntrust me to your care please!ā€

Ryu: ā€œWithin the battle, is the answer!ā€

Win quote: ā€œThank you very much! It does amount to diligence after all! Yes!ā€

Ryu: ā€œWithin the battle, lies the answer.ā€

I thought it was within the heart of battle, lies the answer?

Can’t say I really like that quote altogether.

In English he says, ā€œThe answer lies, in the heart of battle!ā€
