Warriors Fate: Street Fighter story thread, revived

I heard there’s a new sketch of Chun-li, Is that true?

EDIT:

Senior designer and programmer Akira Nishitani started up ARIKA and created the poorly received Street Fighter EX. Yoshiki Okamoto also left to start his own company. And the last senior member related to a Street Fighter project, Noritaka Funamizu, left Capcom in 2004.** All three are still on good terms with Capcom and at least two of them said they’d come back to make sure Street Fighter IV is done right.** But they said in their last group interview, in the book Eternal Challenge, that the earliest to even think of seeing a sequel is in 2008.

the only new sketch I’ve seen is that partial head sketch that appeared along with the one concept sketches of Ryu and Ken and we’re not even sure who it’s supposed to be. Several people have speculated it’s Chunli but nothing official yet.

Actually, they said

Direct quote from SF:EC.

So, Funamizu is in!!

Dunno, didn’t see it wrote down. I just quoted the interview from the book, which was from 2003.

LOL, you should pay no mind to a random blogger who got the freaking title wrong. “Street Fighter VI?!” Just relax and see if Capcom makes an announcement like that or not, don’t put much stock into it. Especially since that was from back in October and we have a lot more official information now after the EGM issue and so on.

I’ve been thinking. Now that everyone knows of SF4’s existence, does TAS gain all of his credibility back? He’s the first one who ever mentioned that SF4 was being produced.

All of it? Not on my watch. Just some of it. He manages to hide behind Capcom USA now and receives the choicest of spoonfeeds while continuing to avoid confessions for anything he’s gotten wrong in the past.

Who’s that ? :stuck_out_tongue:

he says capcom doesn’t change the characters, but they have infact change some of the characters over the years, noteable ones include

1 Sagat

2 Ryu

3 Blanka

4 Guile

They’re talking design wise. The artstyle may change, but they’ve always preserved all the traits that make the characters who they are.

acutally I was refer to personality wise , not design wise, when i was mention the fact that capcom has change the characters through out the years. Sagat still had all his physical traits from SSF2W in later games, but his personality change in SFA2, SFA3 and SSF2 revial.

except for his low fierce of doom and destruction.

Noticed something on the SFIV forum that might be of some interest. It’s about nationalities, and it could act as proof of where Gill is from. It seems clear he’s from Greece, but it’s always stated as unknown. However the filenames for the music are:
46_A_GRE.ADX
47_B_GRE.ADX
48_C_GRE.ADX
This suggests that it’s Greece.

The other music files have the following names: NYC, ROS (Russia; Necro/Twelve), GEM, CHI, SHI (Ryu; what city is this?), KYO (Ibuki; likely Kyoto), DOJ (Makoto’s dojo), YAM, AFR (only been one African fighter in the SF series so far), BRA, LON, HON, FRA, Q and MEX.

So are these music files for SF4? Is Gill gonna be in it after all?

Or are those 3S filenames? Gill’s stages have always been scenes from antiquity. NG’s might as well be Thira (present day Santorini) which is a Greek island, but in 2I like Urien he’s in an ancient Egyptian scene. If you want Gill to stay in Greece for 3S, his stage there might very well be Mt. Olympus.

They’re for SF3S (if only I had it for SFIV :)). Urien’s stage in 2I was Egyptian, but Gill’s 3S stage was always left ambigous. I think this helps clear things up a little.

Lord Vega, about the SFII art series you recenty asked about, here’s the Chun-Li art in better quality:

What’s typical about Chun-Li’s art from this series is that she has very red eye make-up.

EDIT:
Gill really seems to be a mix of all sorts of religions and stuff (Illuminati, Bible, Greek gods, angels). Here are some scans of him having horns like a demon/devil and a Daoist Yin Yang symbol on his chest (both original design sketches from SFIIING, where he first appeared, scanned from the Fan Book).

I noticed some little updates on fightingstreet, what all did you update? And when’s the next big update coming, aerialgroove?

@aerialgroove: wow nice stuff…where did you get those ?

She has that in most of her SF2 art if you look closely.
